Religion / Re: Pastor Chris Oyakhilome: Why Do We Never See Videos Of Anita? Youtube? by jenivert(f): 4:12am On Jan 06, 2014
My heartfelt prayers go out to Pastor Anita, because it can't be easy for her or their children. Pastor Chris should come clean with the members that have a vested interest in his well being about what is happening so that God can truly help him.

[ORDEAL OF TRAPPED NIGERIAN MINERS ]

My "bad" I'm sorry for duplicating the post. What section was this posted, because I attempted to scan the topics to be sure that it was not already posted?

Anyway I thought this satire was a true depiction of what would have happened if the miners had been Nigerian or if the Chliean miners had been trapped underground in Nigeria. I thought the writer of the satire had a true grasp of the leadership problems that Nigeria faces, but hopefully we can not just get a laugh out of this piece, but come up with solutions that will effect the much needed changes to our parochial system of governing. I want to have faith in the Nigerian government in the near future, but as it stands this way of doing things will not change in my lifetime, but I do hope it will make mends in my children children's lifetime.
Jokes Etc / If The 33 Miners Had Been In Nigeria: by jenivert(f): 9:46pm On Oct 15, 2010
If It Were in Nigeria,
10.13.2010
Last night I dreamt that 33 Nigerian miners were trapped underground and the government decided to send a capsule down to rescue them one after the other.
When the miners knew of the rescue plan, they began to argue amongst themselves on who goes first. Zoning was suggested but they could not agree on which zone will go first. Eventually in a struggle to determine who goes first, several of them got injured and MEND issued a threat message warning that they would set off a bomb if any South-south miner was critically injured.
Meanwhile, the FEC had awarded the capsule contract to JB and we are still awaiting delivery three months later. There is a probe going on to unravel this and retrieve the award sum before we get to the issue of what formula to adopt for the rescue and which miner comes out first.
In the mean time, traditional rulers from the miners' towns are paying solidarity visits to the president to thank him for his efforts to rescue the miners.
And the first lady had just invited the wives of the Nigerian miners to Abuja for dinner at the Hilton! The first ladies from the 36 states will also be in attendance. All including the wives of the miners will wear the Goodluck for President ankara.
CNN reported early this morning that after 10 months underground all the 33 Nigerian miners have died and the Nigerian government has declared seven days of mourning during which the Nigerian flag will be flown at half mast to honour the dead.
Meanwhile, JB has sued the FGN for the balance of the contract sum.

Romance / Re: How Can A Woman Spot A Genuine Man? by jenivert(f): 7:28pm On May 01, 2010
from na2day nobody said u are an i.d.i.o.t. as for the woman that picks after a man during a date dont mean she will do that after the wedding

I appreciate you clarifying your comment. Of course this is true as there is no real guarantee that that women will continue to pick up dirty socks after the wedding. People do pretend to be who they are not in the beginning.

But I didn't do that, My philosophy is ' what you see is what you get'. kiss

from na2day no wonder ppl like u fall flat for i.d.i.o.t.s! i guess i can spot a good woman if she likes sports, right? or is willing to pick after me when i throw socks and clothes on the floor during dating, right?

of course you can, any woman who is willing to put up with you and your dirty socks is a sure keeper, especially on a date. FYI I am no i.d.i.o.t. kiss

from george d
some men could still put up with a woman at 'that time' and yet be having their fill on the side.

Don't I know that to be the truth especially when it comes to men, but of course I'm not talking about you (those other men) ! wink

[jenivert,
your method is quite unique!]

george d thanks , i admit that my method is unique
but if a man can stand to see a woman during 'that time' he has to be a keeper!

Sorry to be jumpin' in here so late, but I just saw the thread. A sure way to spot a good man is during that time of the month!

If he sniffs you out --- not what you're thinkin' --- but if he picks up on you when you probably feel the worst with water gain, bloating, and mood changes,

he's probably a good catch!

I don't know why you are so shocked. A Woman needs a man to be able to provide for her. What is the essence of life if a man can't take care of his family? If there is no money coming in or so little coming in, how can the marriage work anyway? I can't think about much when my family is lacking. Please tell me if I am wrong.

Food / Re: Indomie, Chikki Or O! Noodles: Which One Tastes Best? by jenivert(f): 1:46am On Dec 25, 2007
I have only tried Indomie Chicken and Beef. I didn't know what the big deal was all about, because a noodle is a noodle, but I will say I love Indomie. It was the one of few meals that I could eat on my visit to Nigeria this past November, because the food and water were not agreeable with my stomach. I was so scared to eat anything other than bread, cream crackers, indomie, and drink sprite with salt. INDOMIE is the Best O'

I am new to this site and happened upon it when I was searching for Naija Cooking Shows. I am unsure how I would handle the situation mentioned, but I should think the best thing to do would be to bow out as gracefully as I could although I had already compromised myself. If need be I would entertain the thought of departmental transfer. But if the transfer wasn't forthcoming, then I would be up the creek.
