Politics / Re: Soludo Replies Akunyili by kamsi(f): 8:47pm On Jul 29, 2010
When events happen observers should learn from it.
The fall guy in this feud ended up being Akunyili's senior media aide.
It is pretty certain that Akunyili might have read the media release and approved it verbally then the story now back fires and she heaps the blame on her aide.
Another dimension which is more intriguing is that she might have approved it but paid the aide off to take the blame so as to uphold her holier than though attitude.

Soludo's piece on how quarrelsome is she is very true I remember when she was newly appointed as the DG NAFDAC, a relative once said that Dora's sisiter-in-law who is a Nun always complained about Dora's abusive and commanding attitude to members of her husbands family.

The leopard never changes its spot.

Business / Re: Apapa Vs Victoria Island: The Most Commercial Area ? by kamsi(f): 4:48pm On Sep 30, 2009
I think it is Apapa I work in Apapa and it is so busy, you would find all categories of people from corporate type persons to the clearing and forwarding touts to madmen( honestly this is the only location I have found the most number of mad people in Lagos especially the Apapa port area)

It wasn't easy for me when I started working at Apapa some young ladies in our office refuse to go outside from the office without an official escort. I think Apapa is more commercial that is why it draws all sorts of human character.

V.I might have more offices but once those people arrive they go up to their offices but in Apapa most people's office is actually on the road! grin

Career / Re: Career Women, I Need Your Help Pls (Maternity Leave) by kamsi(f): 6:47pm On Jul 02, 2009
from you post i can deduce that you must working ih the human resources department and propably new to it.
Anyway According to the Nigerian labour law a woman is entitled to 12 weeks maternity leave which can be started 6weeks before the EDD and end 6 wks post-natal or however.

Salary is half pay according to labour law but coy might decide to give all to longer serving staff or whichever pleases them.
resumption could be 8 to 2 or 9 to 3 for 2 months. or 3 months

The norm should be that a HMO provides health coverage for staff and family also the plan shoulb include deliveries

Checks are put in place to discourage giving birth every year eg maternity leave should be every 18 mths ,

welfare package for newborn is inclusion in the hmo note under labour law it is only mandatory for staff including family members is basically coy welfare popose.

finally i think i know you, you work with an oil and gas firm right.

Foreign Affairs / Re: The United States Army Looking to recruit Igbos by kamsi(f): 3:49pm On Feb 16, 2009
Am amazed that a lot of people don't realize that the reason for USA recruiting only Igbos is because the actualization of the Biafran State is almost at hand. USA invests only in what is profitable also they are fully in support of Biafra ( so says the activists)
Family / Re: First Pregnancy. First Labor. First Baby. How Was It? by kamsi(f): 3:42pm On Nov 19, 2008
Christ I would never forget my first pregnancy, i had all the symptoms  of pregnancy from vomitting, spitting, tiredness  etc the one my hussy would not forget in a hurry was my enhanced sense of smell.

My hussy love for perfume is unequalled, when I became preggy his deodorants and perfume became an issue cos I complained that he was smelling. He would look at me with this weird look of what are you saying he would ask people and doctors how and why nice designers cologne became foul smell to me. Well to cut the long story short his perfume and deodorant were permanently "stationed" in his car and once he returned home the bathroom would be his first port of call. Or else he is not coming close to me, he immediately adhered to the rules.

Final when it was time to have my baby I couldn't go into labour even after being induced. While I was being examined virginally (which was very painfull I couldn't keep still) my water broke which eventually led to a section. So I didn't experience labour.

Second preggy and the symptoms  reduced drastically though the heightened sense of smell still prevailed, My baby over stayed by two weeks and the water in the amniotic bag was very low I wasn't allowed to go when I went for scan  at the hospital immediately I was told the baby's health was in danger I was prepped for another C S.  A second time no labour no contractions.

Now am expecting my third and last baby and hope that I would go into labour which my doctor is advicing against. For Christ sake I want to feel that pain every woman talks about, how can I go through pregnancy three times with experiencing labour.

Some might say its better not to experience labour but the truth is that I want to find that out for myself

So as I eagerly await the birth of my baby I pray this time around would be different.

Please I have a question for HR practioners here, is it justifiable to approve a training allowance for staff attending a training programme sponsored by the company. Bearing in mind that the venue is within the city that the staff works in.
Politics / Re: Man Jumps Into Well, Demands N100,000 From Yar’adua by kamsi(f): 8:55am On Jun 17, 2008
I read this article and laughed. But reading through all the post on this trend I now realize why Nigerian are always suffering and smiling majority. Most people concluded that the man was mentally unbalanced while others are of the view that he should have drowned. In other clime public outpour of sympathy and cry would have followed this incident. But in Nigeria reverse is the case.

'' After all na only him been see suffer so why him own go dey different''

Travel / Re: Any Regret Leaving Home For Abroad by kamsi(f): 4:47pm On May 22, 2008
@Xiomarra
Absolutely no regrets at all.  Thank God for giving me the opportunity to see how "human" beings live outside Nigeria.  If I died and came back again, I will repeat removing myself from Nigeria at an earlier age like 2 years old. Or better still not to be born a Nigerian.

For one simple reason: Nigerians are one of the most heartless sets of people in this whole wide world. Even to themselves.

Tufiakwa

Am amazed when people say things like this, are Nigerians suicide bombers or or do we kill foreigners in our country in the disguise that they are taking up all our jobs.

Please if you were unfortunate to be surrounded by 'heartless people' do not generalize.

Every day we are bombered with what the so called westerners do from freezing their babies in the freezer to imprisoning their daughters for 24 years and having 7 children with her, are all these people not foreigners abi na ''heartless Nigerian'' them be.

Being wicked or heartless is not an exclusive preserve of a particular nationality, who were the bloody racist that maltreated and humialiated Black American abi na ''Most Heartless Sets of People (Nigerians)''

Please give us a break!

@ MARYU
Am not canvassing for them actually I had such reservation about paying, but after going through the text and secured employment it would be unfair of me not to say that they are actually genuine.

Nobody is forcing any one it is just a matter of choice.
