From your response, I can only deduce that you are in the same class of Patrick....Let me help you a little.... Historiography is simply the study of history... Therefore does it make any sense when somebody says....( THE STUDY OF HISTORY OF THE STUDY OF....??)

The problem is that you're being too simple.. 'Historiography' is also: 'The writing of history based on critical analysis..' As for being in the same class as Patrick, is that supposed to be a negative thing?

As far as i'm concerned, that man is talking thrash.... infact if you read the body language of the panelist..they must be wondering in their mind..." how can a grown-up man behave like this?"
what does somebody mean by saying " my critical history and historiography of the study of.....?"
Infact a primary 4 pupil will do well to correct him, its a real pity!
Even if one has to use ambiguous english words to impress,he/she should ensure that the sentence derived when using these words makes sense, and also the words should be use in the right tense to ensure proper flow!
Its not by saying thrash on TV!

So what it that you don't understand? Is it that there isn't such a word as historiography? Save for one or two words that I can't make out, most of what he said was coherent.. That he mixes latin words with english ones, doesn't make them less sensible.

Man utd defence gave lots of probs,

defeating arsenal at the emirates, would have made me the happiest man on earth, very painfull match, all am sure of, is that this very season, arsenal would meet their waterloo, they will be spanked, lets watch out for chelsea,

Lazy A-Holes couldn't beat Arsenal now you are relying on chelsea. Last season we were bad yet the only loss to a big team was against well beaten liverpool.
For all the haters, realise this; Yesterday, the best attack played the best defence. the best attack scored two goals (Pass mark) yet the best defence conceeded 2 goals ( fair or even fail). so all DIVIDED fans should go and rest. draw liverpool at anfield let us see. If it is easy to piss, let the fowl piss let us see. Key Word ARSENAL STILL ON TOP!!!!
Culture / Re: Yorubas Are The Most Educated Tribe In Nigeria by lamisanya(m): 3:25am On Nov 04, 2007
@FSU
now that it's time for low blows, what do you know about the north, virtually all the igbo people in the north are traders courtesy of religious riots. yoruba's tend to be safer as most are muslims so apart from northern minority tribes who else do you think populates the skilled labour market Igbos? na yam?
Also only oppressed "south-southerners" will go to the east to seek employment in banks. we all know shit ain't going on there except trading. But all this is by the way-side. I've grew up in the north, schooled at ibadan and i have stayed for at least 6 months in all Geo-political zones., i work with unicef so i know my Shit.I've probably contributed to some of the stuff you're Quoting!!. all the time i've spent in yoruba land isn't up to 10 yrs so i ain't no cocoon boy angry.P.s. because clothes and spare parts are being sold at onitsha and Oil is being exploited in rivers state doesn't mean you should equate commercial hustle and bustle with education. i brought the issue up because the only thing the south west has is limestone(ogun state) yet a lot of shit goes down and yes even outside lagos. I have to stop here. my suppressed tribalistic tendencies have been awakened. now i have to fast in penance for the next 3 weeks. I will never allow my self to visit this topic again. angry angry angry

@FSU
You seem to have misconstrued what I meant by "dominates". maybe what i should have said was; predominant. my "dominate" means no of skilled labourers. Is it politics that made the south-west a commercial hot-spot at least the capital has moved from lagos for more than 10 years. the Yoruba's believe in sending their children to school for "IWE MEWA" which was Awolowo's belief. whether they do any thing with this education is not any of my business. you have quoted jamb statistics but i failed to get whether they also included college of education statistics. It is wise to note that the statistics indicate state of examination not state of origin of the candidates, also if you quote Primary and secondary school statistics i'm sure the far north will dominate. Every tribe (including the yoruba) likes to pride itself in being the best in something. AAhhg this argument is making me too tribalistic angry angry angry

Na so we go dey waste precious energy on top a simple thing.Last season Man U was spanked twice by arsenal but still finished as champions. this season will be decided not by the winner of this game but by who beats the other teams the most. So let all Gunners concentrate on the title not on who'll win tomorrow. All the same, the game will end in a 3-1 loss for man U. tongue grin

poster

Waoh! clap for yourself. You just heard, no proof.

I assume that the poster is new here. Otherwise he/she should have known that this matter has been discussed intensely before. Now he/she sneaks through the back-door to declare parochially that Yorubas are the most educated. Yorubas used to be the most educated (not necessarily the better educated). The glory is attenuated. That tide has changed. The Igbo has taken over since the last several years, as the most educated (and again not necessarily the better educated). I emphasise ''better'' because Nigerian education has long become about quantity not quality

I refer you to the link here on NVS, where you can get some useful statistics via other links. This topic is so far the most discussed, as you will find out from the number of exchanges that took place then.

https://www.nairaland.com/nigeria/topic-36515.0.html
Where is your own proof? this topic is too controversial because people will confuse being educated with being smart. this is a matter of quantity and by so saying the poster us likely to be correct. I'm yoruba so Bite me!! As for the awolowo issue i refuse to be drawn into any foolish argument about political icons but just to inform Chika98 look to the country's banking and business sector and check out which tribe dominates.

You can't compare that, in everything sir fagie is above winger, who is winger.
Do you know this? Ryan giggs have won premiership more than winger talkless of sir fergusson. 9 premiership for giigs , how many for winger?
I am unquestionably an Arsenal fanatic. I have watched 3 games at highbury one of which was a demolition of MAN U.(the barthez gifts)
When it comes to trophies Liverpool is greatest then Man U then Arsenal.
But there are some things every one must know:
The longest Unbeaten run in English football history.
The longest scoring run in English football history.
The longest unbeaten AWAY Matches record(two Seasons +5 games):for chelsea fans making noise about a home record!!!
The lowest FA cup losses ever
and one of only three teams(man u not in this elite group) to have won 3 back to back league titles.
Titles are for trophy rooms Records ARE FOREVER

Just think about it, you come back from church or where-ever on boxing day switch on your telly and presto; a premiership game. (and the English FA usually fixes a juicy match for this period). These guys aggressively market their league. It is not about the FA's love of the game but about money. They make the English love their game and ultimately Nigerians. It's the same thing Americans have done with Basket-ball. Tell me what is there not to love about the EPL. If mourhino had been real's coach, he would have been sacked for not winning it in entertaining style grin

You are too wrong!! Do you remember Hamburg, Bayer Leverkusen, Kaiserslautern won the league in 1998, Hertha berlin was in top 4 in 1998

In SPain Zaragoza, Deportivo, Osasuna, betis, Villareal, Sevilla, Mallorca e.t.c have all tasted top 4 in the last 10 years.
thanks for not arguing about the predictability of the Serie A (which was probably due to bribed referees). you mentioned teams like Kaiserslautern who have been relegated since. I don't remember any EPL winner being relegated (CONSISTENCY!!! or as you call it predictability) also Clubs like Deportivo and betis now struggle to stay alive.
Please respect the only league that gives you football On boxing-day and on January 2 because they don't go on break,(Italy,Germany,Spain lipsrsealed)
Even while play two different domestic Cup competitions. All this with 20 teams( unlike germany )
As for the days when english teams were weak in europe where were the Italian teams from 1999-2003
Remember also:from 1977-1982 the winners were all english. 6 straight years(not black and white years like Real Madrid) na moin-moin

People keep on talking about hype as the reason why the EPL is popular. When will we learn to see it as excellent marketing?
The EPL claims to be the most EXCITING league NOT the BEST. Just like You will rather watch Transformers rather than the Critically acclaimed Elizabeth part 2.
As to the fact that the top 4 hasn't changed since: boo hoo, Newcastle and Everton have finished in fourth spot not too long ago. last year it was Arsenal's turn. this year maybe Chelsea(amen). in germany top 5 always Bayern, Shalke, Bremen, Stuttgart and/or Dortmund.
Italy; Inter, Milan, Juve(except last season), Roma+/-fiorentina or lazio. La liga:Real, Barca,Valencia and any other off the shelf club.
Please Respect the PREMIERSHIP, after all no one is arguing about La liga
