No!!!!!
Yes, there is no record of Dino working or managing a business before joining politics. The fact that there is no record or that Dino can't mention what he was doing before politics does not mean he wasn't engaged in something. It is just something he can't mention!. Same for Obi!
Politics / Re: List Of Oil Producing State 2024 & How Much They Got As 13% Derivation by mfm04622: 11:10pm On Aug 12
Bestmanfornow:

Exploration of oil and gas is expensive list I don't know why you guys like arguing unnecessarily.

What does it mean that oil exploration is on the exclusive list?
Being on the exclusive list does not mean states can't participate in oil exploration! It means only FG can regulate the oil industry. States can set up companies that apply for license and participate in whatever part of the oil industry they wish. They can own oil fields, have refineries, distribute fuels, etc. The Aviation industry is on the exclusive list, yet Akwa Ibom has an airline. So, an industry being on the exclusive list does not mean states and local governments can't participate in the industry. It just mean they can't make laws that affects the industry.
Odua investment is owned by the SW states. They have at least one oil field. Why can't other states apply for oil fields?

I believe you understand sectors in exclusive list

What does it mean if something is on the exclusive list? .
It just means only FG can regulate that industry. It doesn't mean other levels of government can't participate in the industry! Presently,Odua own an oil block. That was why I said govt that want to participate in the oil industry should set up companies and approach FG for relevant licenses

Bestmanfornow:
Anambra should be one of the leading state but FG ignored oil and gas in Anambra and other southeast states and busy wasting resources on barren land with no oil

Everything can't be done by govt!
Either get an explorative license and look for oil in Anambra or ask your state governor to set up a company and get the license.

Tinubu has a lot of work to do

How could NUPRC be pushing that hard and the IOC still dont wanna do the needful?

Is the IOC not answerable to any higher body?

cant NUPRC report the IOC to a higher body?

It seems there are too many loopholes in that ministry and FG might prolly have to overhaul the entire ministry to fight the corruption

6 of 15 isnt 60% by the way

Because the IOC own the crude and they have usually sold them ahead of time. Why didn't Dangote arrange for his crude supply beforehand?

Business / Re: Senate Increases Banks’ Windfall Levy To 70% by mfm04622: 5:48pm On Jul 24
pipnator00:
My opinion.. I see this as criminality on the part of the govt! Banks just like every other business is out to make profit for its shareholders and
they will do that in whatever way or loophole available to them.

Currency speculation and trading is what the investment banking arm of every bank does and making profits out of the the ill advised floating of the naira by this government is just one of the available loophole. This windfall tax can only be described as one thing, punishment and mafia style taxation on these banks.

The government should simply take their L and learn never to issue policies without seriously running a stress test of the policy before its issued. This mafia style taxation will send a wrong signal to the wider investment community both locally and internationally.

Plus in case of next time, this mafia style taxation will push the banks into a smarter way of cooking their books/report and never report such profits to the public anymore.

There is a reason this type of tax has a name! It is a windfall tax. Nigeria will not be the first country to tax companies that makes extra profit due to circumstances beyond normal operations. So, it is no criminal.
The govt is trying to make up taxes they lost to manufacturing companies declaring loses due to FX issues.

2020 protest is about police/Sars brutality. That was why police were targeted. This August protest is about bad governance. Police should not try to shoot if the protesters are not violent.
Let Nigerians protest peacefully, it's their right.

Govt too should do something about the economic situation. It's terrible down there.

Bocking the road is a crime! If the Nigerian Govt should apply relevant laws against protesters, you will label the govt despotic.
You can protest, but don't infringe on the rights of freedom of movement of others

Is there no road that can take one from Badagry, Lagos to Kebbi or Sokoto already?

What is the point being in debt, with jobless souls that are hungry and then try to build a super alternative route to one random rural state like sokoto or kebbi?

This is how our debt keeps pilling up. We build project for the sake of looting returns and real estate appeal.

Infrastructure when well planned return more to the economy than the cost.
Yes, there is a route from Sokoto to Lagos presently, but it is too long! Sokoto and Lagos are directly above each other. They should be connected by the shortest distance.
Was there not an existing bridge over the Niger at Onitsha? Why did the Igbo clamoured for another till they got it?
The Lagos to Sokoto road will also connect Nigeria to Niger! If we can get Niger to import and export more of their goods from Nigeria, more business for Nigerians.

You are then not a student of history. You are not a good reader. Your bias is unnecessary.

Aside from the event of October last year, the major reason Israel daily destroys people and infrastructure in Gaza is the almost everyone in Gaza is Hamas. If you will take your time to read wide, you’ll discover that the places where hostage Israelis have been released from are guarded by the so called civilians. The reason forHamas is to draw the attention of the international community and speedily facilitate the creation of the state of Palestine.

The same goes for Hezbollah. They have no business, except sentiments. When the draw Israel into a war, they fancy their chances, collaborating with Iran, Hamas, PLA and the Houthis of completely destroying Israel. The reason for hiding weapons in civilian areas is the same for Hamas. In the end they cause plenty civilian casualties among their people as usual and draw condemnation for Israel.

It is unfortunate that this happens presently. Lebanon is not in an economic condition to go into a full blown war against Israel, caused by Hezbollah. Their economy presently is in tatters. The humanitarian crisis would be difficult to handle. Do it is better for Hezbollah to respect themselves.

Maybe you do not know. Israel is a nuclear armed nation and will deploy chemical weapons if provoked to act. Iran itself must thread with plenty of caution.

Lastly, for those of you who see the war from a religious perspective, please re-focus your lenses. It a battle for ancestral lands for the Palestinians. It is a battle to stay in their own lands by the Israelis. Our prayer is that a two state solution can be reached for peace to reign. Our hope is that those terrorist who deceive others that they fight in the name of their religion, must put an end to it.

You should at least make some research before commenting on anything you don't know.
Even Israel said the total number of Hamas fighter is about 20,000.. Just 20,000. Gaza had a population of about 2.5M How is this "almost everybody in Gaza is Hamas"?
Just accept Israel is committing genocide! There is no other explanation.
