At ritalicious, I don't mean to dampen your faith or discourage u but I honestly feel you are a bit late. The latest Cap Update has 2263 at 234 and this is after assessing applications up till abt Nov 3rd week. With your WES yet to be done, it means that the earliest your application will arrive CIC NS will be in February which means there will be over 2 months of applications to open before you. There is no harm in going ahead sha but I strongly feel you should try to prepare a very strong Saskatchewan application because that may be a more realistic route in my opinion. I don't think you need WES evaluation for Saskatchewan so please file your complete application for Sask asap. Good luck.

ritaliciously: hello house, i have done my ielts with score of 7.5, i would be going to my school to apply for my transcripts tomorrow to send to WES. hope its not too late applying for this years FSWP? pls reply

Your score ahould be 22 from your language test result. 5 points each for Listening and Writing and 6 points each for Reading and Listening.

I think you should apply for NOC 2243 and i'm convinced you will fall into the cap because that is a very unpopular NOC. I am also convinced that you will make the overall 5000 Cap because I really don't see much movement outside 2263,3211 and 2134. I actually think that by the end of the application process in April, we won't have up to 4500 applications.
Bottom line is you are good to go and should apply asap.

okejji: Thank God I just collected my IELTS report form I wrote on Nov 21 very positive. These are my score:
Listening 7.5
Reading 8
writing 6.5
speaking 7

pls kindly calculate my score

I am a maintenace engineer working for an indigenous company in PH.
We are into repairs of equipments ang instrument devices. I have my WES document
I can apply as an instrument technician is that ok?

Guys what's happening with Accra VO? Its been raining Medical Requests in New Delhi VO for FSW2013 May applicants and even a June applicant has received a Medical Request.

Has anyone gotten a call for Medicals? Also, does Accra send out AOR?

Thanks a lot for the information Almaliki. So how do u intend explaining the source of funding to them. Also have they accepted your explanation for the work experience wahala? Goodluck to you bro and good goodluck to everyone else on here.

Hopefully Accra wakes up and starts attending to 2013 applicants.

Of what use is it gathering your application to this point and not applying. Just throw in your application and who knows, it may just get in. Lately, that NOC has been increasing by an average of 10 every week so if it continues at this rate, it will fill up in 13 weeks. CIC i understand are working on 2nd week of september applications so it is possible you stand a chance. Send it in now BY COURIER.

chiamygirl: Goodmorning beautiful people.pls i have a question?is it late for someone to apply under NOC 2263 now though d person has gathered all d documents. Ielts,WES,notarisation of documents and all just to send application to CIC considering d fact dat d total no of applications received under d NOC is now 166. Does d person have high chances of making it? Thanks

Hello Nkechi,

Your husband is very much qualified and he should please start packaging his application immediately.

I want to believe you mean he has a degree in Civil Engineering but works as a Petroleum Engineer. The most important thing at this point is that he has experience working as a Petroleum Engineer and if this experience is more than one year old, then he can apply under the Peteoleum Engineering NOC.

Has he gotten his university transcript for his WES evaluation? Has he taken his IELTS?

About the funds, i seriously suggest you guys go with Cash all throigh. I dont suggest using share certificates and landed properties because how does CIC value those items (My personal opinion). Please try to build up your account and get a balance statement.

Remember, although CIC has received less than 10 complete applications for Petroleum Engineering, you need to be fast and send in your application because the overall cap of 5000 also ends the entire process. At the moment, its over 3000.

In summary, he should apply asap.

nk-love:
Good nairalanders, I have been following this forum and I must say that am impressed.

My question is, my husband is a civil engineer but works in an oil servicing firm as a petroleum engineer and mechanical engineer. Is he eligible to apply as a petroleum engineer under FSW. Since mechanical is filled up
Also, his international passport will expire august 2014, any effect on that.

Our proof of fund will be share certificate of his and mine and lands, together with a little cash of 500k. We are family of 3.
Are we eligible to apply for this FSW

Thanks

Nklove

Hello Almaliki.. Please we are waiting for your update from the correspondence you had with your Case Officer. I believe there will be a lot we all in the house can learn. Please update us.

Also, Almakiki, please when did u apply and what NOC category did you enter for. I ask because if you are a FSW 2013 applicant, then it means Accra VO may be fast after all and may begin sending MR's to applicants like you soon. From the forum at canadavisa.com, it seems NDVO and LVO are not yet attending to FSW2013 so it would be refreshing to note that Accra is already on the matter. Does Accra issue AOR? Please reply.

.
almaliki: hey fellas, thot i should holla on u guys, pls for Gods sake pls edit ur profile online....as in facebook, linkedin, twitter or any social media or job_search websites ur involved with.......just got a mail from my case officer.......d mo'fo been searching on my profile online and doing some aproko job on my online lifestyle............will keep ya posted.

Hello.

I think there is really nothing else you can do since you have confirmed that the verification sent by your school was received and signed for by a WES official. I think WES says it may take 24 to 48 hrs to update their status so hopefully by Monday, they should update it and get your stuff done.

Its just sad that WES has double standards they use for Nigeria and probably manu other countries. With me, WES received my Transcript from my Uni on Sept. 23 and even without receiving the copy of my degree which i mailed to them, they produced my report and mailed it to me the next day Sept 24. I believe this was because i evaluated only my UK issued degree and not my Nigerian degree.

Looking at your NOC, I think you will be more than fine even if you mail your application in December. Hopefully your IELTS result is ready. Good luck.

chiamygirl: I use an agent for this and when I told him about it he said that my evaluation report is at its last stage of preparation that evaluation and verification is what WES does.since evaluation has been concluded that they are doing the verification now that I should be patient.my good people I still don't understand cos my status hasn't changed and I m applying under NOC 3212.kindly clarify me on this. Thanks

Thanks a lot bruv. I sent mine on Tuesday via DHL and hopefully it should be delivered tomorrow Friday. Fingers crossed i'l get in.

Just a quick question, the envelope I put my application into was addressed in the manner CIC requested [I mean i had the CIC courier address as the main address and i wrote my address at the top left of the envelope]. At DHL, they took my envelope and inserted it into their own envelope with all addressing done in their own standard way. Does this have any effect?
oiseoghae:

Nanonye, I would advice u send your application ASAP, unfailingly this week by DHL or FEDEX, takes 3 to 4 days.Am sure you will make it, just act now...God bless

Guys please I have a question before mailing my application tomorrow (Tueaday). In the 'Mail The Application' section of the Application Guide, it states dimensions for the envelopes. I find this surprising. Please guys does this really matter or should I ensure I get an envelope with these dimensions?

Also, is it nice to add any other document that can support my application apart fromnthose that have been requested in the Checklist? Don't know if that will cause 'wahala'.

Thanks a lot.

Hello guys, I just got my IELTS result today. Listening 6, Reading 7, Writing 7.5. Speaking 7. Guess that's 22 points.

Please I intend sending my application on Tuesday after getting my Work Reference Letter on monday but I have a question. I want to send the original reference letters instead of photocopies since the checklist says the CIC Officers may still request for original copies of the letter at a later date. Please I want to know if anyone here with PER sent originals. Also is it necessary to notorize my Birth Certificate?
Travel / Re: Canadian Federal Skilled Worker Program-timelines Here by nanonye: 7:48pm On Nov 04, 2013
Please I have a question for my colleagues that have gotten PER's.

Question 5 of the SCHEDULE A: Background/Declaration form asks for 'Personal Details of Your Mother'.

The first question there asks for 'Mother's Family name at birth'. Do I need to include my mother's surname at birth (ie her nee) or do I still include her surname after marriage which is my fathers surname.

I feel its supposed to be her family name before marriage but I just need confirmation from you guys asap please.

Thanks a lot.

Thanks for the info Solomonwis. I didnt work up to 30 hours a week so I can't claim points with it.

Question No. 12 of the 'Schedule 3 Form' asks for details of my work experience. Should I include NYSC or forget about it since I didn't work enough hours?

solomonwis:

NYSC experience counts only if it is paid work experience and you work for a minimum of approximately 40 hours per week.

With the rate at which NOC2263 is moving, i believe i've got some hope. That was a huge jump for NOC 2132 from 219 to 276 in two weeks.

Hello guys with PER's. Please with regards to the Proof of Funds document, can it just be a letter from the bank stating what my bank balance is or must it be a full bank statement over a certain period? I know the Checklist shows it can be a letter from the bank but just want to know if any of our people with OER's used letters. Thanks.

Stil on the Self Addressed Envelope, the Checklist says we should include one in English/French and one in the country's official language. Guys am i right to say that i should include 2 addresses in English since English is our Lingua Franca?
Tranquill:

It is simply a paper that you write your own address on so that should there be any need to send a paper mail to you, they just paste it on an evelope and then put it in the post so that it goes to the address that you wrote down by urself. In this case any mistake in the mailing address will purely be ur own fault. I dont know if in Nigeria you can get these plain address stickers but alternatively, type you mailing address on a plain white sheet and then cut the sheet into size that can be 'gummed' to an envelope.

Thanks a lot for the information. Please can the entire process be concluded in one day?
Tranquill:

Not sure of PH but certainly at the police headquater in Abuja. If the requirements are same as in Lagos, all you need is passport photos. Cant remember how many exactly but go with 2. You can not do it by proxy as they will need your finger print.

IMPORTANT- I understand you shouldnt pay more than 5k. I spent up to 16k in Lagos but felt really foolish when I realised I was used. They will 1st evaluate how naive you are about the whole thing then try to get as much money from you as possible. So bear in mind that you dont spend more than 5k. Good luck.

Guys please I have a question about filling the forms "Schedule A: Background / Declaration (IMM 5669)" and "Schedule 3: Economic Classes – Federal Skilled Worker (IMM 0008 – Schedule 3)"

On these forms, I have found that in some sections, there isn't enough space to contain the needed information. In the Schedule A form, the space for Education, Personal History, Membership/Association and Address are not enough for me. Also, in the Schedule 3 form, the space for "Work Experience" is also not enough.

Please guys, should I fill out all the necessary information on an additional sheet of paper and include with the original forms?

I'm currently filling my form and need assistance with this. Thanks.

Hello Solomon and others with PER's please I have some questions.

Firstly, did you guys send photocopies of your Work Reference Letters or did you send originals.

Second Question- Should all details of the reference letter (Period of employment, Positions held, Main responsibilities, Total annual salary and Number of hours worked) be in one letter or should the Main Responsibilities be in a separate letter.

Third Question- Is the reference letter enough or do I also need to include my Employment Letter?

Forth Question- Did you send original pay slips or photocopies.

Fifth Question- Have August applicants have started receiving PER's.

Please reply soon.

Hello House. I have asked this earlier, but let me make it clearer. I just read through a statistic for the Medical Lab Tech NOC category which said applications were being assessed approximately at the rate of 45 a month. I'd like to know if anyone has an idea what the rate is for Inspectors in Public and Environmental Health and Occupational Health and Safety (NOC 2263). I know these things are not automatic but any info would help.

I have all my documents except my IELTS result which should be out on Nov 11 and I intend sending my application on the 12th for arrival by the 18th. Is it advisable to wait till next year considering the rate at which my NOC code is filling up?

Secondly, did u guys include a Police Certificate to your application? How do I get mine for Nigeria please and what does it cost?

Thanks a lot.

From the website as at october 4th, it says 3211 3211 Medical laboratory technologists has 107 applications http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/immigrate/skilled/complete-applications.asp

It is believed that this data is correct for applications received in the first week of July

At the correct rate which is about 45 per month(for May n June) you may be lucky and scale in

However u can also consider 3212 which is less agrressive

BUT you need to get your IELTS sorted out and your ECA done

IS your transcript ready to be sent...

Thanks for this update Solowis. Seems the numbers are filling up quickly. Please I have a question for you and the other guys that have received their PER. Please at what point does someone's application count towards the numbers quoted? Is it at the point CIC receives an application or is it at the point a PER is received by someone that has applied? For example, the Engineering Managers NOC Category currently shows 190. Now if i apply to that category, does this figure rise to 191 at the point when CIC receives my application in the post or does it rise to 191 after I receive my PER? Could someone please shed little light on the content of the messages they got both when CIC received their application and the message they got when they received a PER. (This is optional. Just if you wish to because letters are personal). Thanks a lot guys.
