thank you but it appear now totally ipossibkle to get the SACE registration done. SACE is requiring **certified proof of legal entry as part of the documents whereas this friend of mine has not applied for visa yet...he hasnt been to S.A before
The following documents are required for registration:

A SACE application form

A certified copy of passport

A certified copy of the valid proof of legal entry

A certified copy of the SAQA evaluation certificate

Certified copies of professional teaching qualifications

Certified proof of the Post Graduate Certificate in Education (PGCE)

A letter of good ethical and professional standing from the ministry of
education in your country (A letter from the university is required in the
absence of the one from the ministry of education)

A letter of employment in South Africa (The letter must state that you are
employed, the grades and the subjects you are teaching)

R400.00 postal order for registration
Manager007:

Oga Opsy4real1,

Congratulations on the new job offer!

If the new job at Gert Sibande College entails any form of teaching, then your friend needs to be registered with SACE (South African Council of Educators) which will accord him the status of “Educator”. Please visit www.sace.org.za for more details on how he can register and he might land another job there as they regularly advertise teaching positions there.

That being said work visa no easy, but its definitely obtainable if he submits the authentic documents devoid of fake supporting documents etc.

The requirements for general work visa applications are as such:
1. A duly completed application form at VFS within any province in SA

2. SAQA Application - The South African Qualifications Authority (SAQA). This is one of the requirements for a general work visa whereby SAQA evaluates all foreign qualifications and converts them to a South African education equivalent. Please visit www.saqa.org.za for more information on how to evaluate your docs.

3. Police Clearance Certificates (for all applicants older than 18 years of age) which he can obtain my walking into a Police station and having his biometrics taken and forwarded to head office of records in Pretoria. It usually takes 6 weeks, so the quicker he applies, the better for him.

4. Proof of Advertisement. This is very important in order to show proof that a local candidate (South African Citizen or permanent resident) has tried to be recruited to the role. These requirements for a general work visa needs to meet specific requirements in terms of where placed, size of advert etc.

5. Employer documentation that includes your contract of employment Medical well being – part of the requirements for a general work visa application include proof that the applicant is in good health. Applicants will also have to submit a radiological report.

6. Personal information – this includes such items as your CV, proof or birth, marriage, divorce and passport.

So please tell him having a letter of employment is not just enough, it needs to meet what SA immigration officials call “Benchmarking” standards which basically you can obtain from any office of The South African Department of Labour or extract from the database of a benchmarking organisation stipulating the salary earned by employees occupying similar positions in the RSA.
(Take note : This certificate/letter is very very very important for Work Visas ).

Just take your time to properly organize your application. You will get the work visa.

You see one thing you need to know is that the DHA receives lots and lots of fraudulent applications, especially for work visas from many foreign nationals(Nigerians inclusive) such that it becomes a breath of fresh air to receive one that is genuinely submitted.

Make your friend no forget me when he starts receiving the big bucks oooooo..

Goodluck bro!

makanakie:
I pray that this post of mine attracts urgent replies. I got a 3 months multiple entry visiting visa to SA on the 16th of sept and it will expires on the 15th of Dec. This moth. But I am looking at the possibilities of making the trip. I have 8 more days on the visa by today and I am hoping to buy my ticket tomao and take off like on Tuesday. But I really want to be cleared on the fact that will these immigration people at Tanbo not gonna send me back as my visa just have days left?

And a friend told me that I should not be worried that at the point of entry in SA that I will be granted an added 30days period of stay. I don't know if this is also true. Meanwhile my greatest plight why I wanna go is that my passport expired May15 next year. So I actually wanna go there and stay till sometimes next year when my passport will be expired so that I can get a passport renewal at nija home office over there cuz I believe a nija passport issued in joburg will attracts more Favour from any embassy while I am back home incase of further application to get a better country visa. This I want to be cleared on. Come to my Aids

thank you very much for ur promptness in response. I realy appreciate...how much does the insurance go for? Just an idea
yinksob002:
Yes he needs a medical insurance with a recognised SA health care provider such as Momentum health. You can google ''Momentum health'' for further info on the procedures and health plan.

Medical Insurance is mandatory for Study visa applications and Momentum health is highly recognised and regarded.

All the best

bless up bro! Long live nairaland.
Ps. Does he need medical insurance aside that?
yinksob002:
I did mine at Gbagada general hospital last month with 3k and got it same day. All you need do is to go with your Int'l passport, the medical and radiological report form (i.e BI-806 and BI-811 form) and it will be duly stamped, signed and dated. The completed form will now be returned to the Embassy with other supporting documents for submission of your visa application.

You can hold like 5k just in case.

All the best

thanks so much bro,how much is it done?and does he need to go with the BI-806 and BI-811 form?
yinksob002:
Go to any of the general hospitals closest to you (Gbagada or Ikeja if you live in Lagos) and you will get it done without stress. Note that the Embassy does not allow report from private hospitals.

@samtol, he couldnt get to register with sace after an exhaustive efforts. SACE claims he could only get registered with the body with his work permit as part of the registration requirements. Meaning that IT IS ABSOLUTELY IMPOSSIBLE to get SACE. Cant he apply with just the offer letter and supporting documents? Its been months now he holds employment letter yet he couldnt apply for the visa due to sace. Please guide. other contributors with an idea on going abt it also will be appreciated. Thank you all

hello collinsfbi, its real been a while you are on here. At a point few weeks ago, i posted in regards a friend who got a teaching employment offer durin his visit ,but due to the new immigration rule that visit visa can no longer be changed to work permit within s.a. He wants to apply for the work permit from nigeria but was informed he need to register with SACE as Typop n others suggested but getting to sace he was adviced his work permit is one of the registration requirements. How would the work visa application be possible wit this? I'l appreciate your inputs too. Though he claims some agents in s.a claimed they still could help get d permit done in s.a buh i askd him not to but that i'l get facts so he can apply by himslf in Nigeria. Thank you.
collinsfbi:

If you like, listen to what these pple are telling you and if you like, don't listen, it's up to but one thing is certain, your money will be wasted and you will end up not getting any permit. I have friends here you refuse to heed to my advice, they are regretting right now. I have even seen some students here who submitted for renewal of their study permit and for over 4 months now they never get their permit renewed not to talk of a visitor coming here to get a permit. Even the popular asylum called (Aduro) is no more easy to get like before. Come to asylum office in Pretoria close the popular marabastard market and see thousands of Naija, congolese and the zimbas sleep ouside their office in freezing cold for weeks in order to get their way in for (aduro). If you want to come to SA, just visit and go back or come with your study permit or work permit from naija else, you will only come here to waste your time and money and metro will make life difficult for you.

Gbamm! over n out

What other documents is required from south africa to apply for south africa work visa apart from the offer of employment letter? A friend has been able to get a teaching employment offer in s.a and will be coming home to apply for the visa. He has just the employment letter and has his SAQA certificate on ground. Is that enough document or he has to register with any other body in s.a? Also pls kindly enlighten the more on all documents required in the application process and how it works. Thank you

Good job Typop but is police report now necessary for tourist/visit visa? Is it a new development cos I got my visas without it.
TYPOP:

Let one of them apply as the main applicant and the other as accompanying dependant. The one applying need to write a letter indicating that the other will accompany him. THey should submit their applications at the same time. Please note that they will both need most of the documentations required for one person including police report.

They will also be guided at VFS and if their application has issues, the applications won't be collected until the issues are resolved.

lol...Good luck
nickson03: I would like to update the good people about my wife uk refusal. My wife had been to uk to visit me and my son who are both british. When my wife apply for her first uk visa she brought a letter from her uni delta state university and the visa was issue to her and we stated on the application she will be staying for 4weeks but she later stayed for 5month beco they had long holiday after completing her industry trainning program.however when we apply for a renewal she was refuse the ECO stated that she stayed for 5months instead of 4weeks stated on aplication and she did not summit letter from her uni in support. The reason why we did not bring A letter from her uni is beco she had already summit a letter from her uni in the first application. However, i reaply for the second time addressing those issue. I stated clearly to address the reason why she stay up to 5months and i also told the ECO that it does not matter how long my wife stay for but matter is that she did not overstay her visit by 1 or 28 day period and there was no restriction to the 4weeks but the visa clearly state she can stay for 185 days on her visit and this time we brought a letter from the university to support she is a student but the ECO refuse my wife again stating they were try to verify the letter from her uni they were unable so on the balance of probability they are not satify of her currently circustance in nigeria. I got very hungry knowing that my wife satify all the paragraphy 41 and section (1) of uk immigration rule. Decide to send an email to the british embasy in abuja i told the ECO that she/he should know that there is a national strike in unversity in nig and she should know this even the unborn baby know there is a strike in nig then would they clay that they were try to verify the letter. I tolk the case to court, i called the court yesterday and i was told that the court has sent a letter to british embassy in abuja give they from now to 24 feb 2014 for they to review the decision and issue the visa otherwise they will have to come to court to answer court qaurell becos the reason for the reason refuse is nosses or stupid reason. I whats to say is that i can understand i those unqaulify people should be working in in british embasy called themselve ECO to handle people visa aplication and refuse people visa for stupid reason. I will advice anyone who feel they have been deniel unfairly to take the british embassy to court in uk not in nigeria. I will update the house again they have issue the visa or they choose to go to court with me to answer quarel.

sorry about that, it is imperative for your phone to always be on anytime you make any application as further information that could lead to the visa approval might be required of you and since your mobile phone is switched off or outta coverage area during that period, they finalize their decision.....give it a try again if you are willing to...
santiobaj: Good Morning guys,

I recently applied for a visa to the Republic of south Africa (28-10-2013) and to my utmost dismay I was denied. The reason given for the denial (Refusal to pay repatriation fee) is not convincing enough and I feel I was robbed. I was informed that the high commission tried reaching me over the phone and could not get through to me because i was out of town and by virtue of that I was refused. I put my email address on my application and stated I would prefer that as primary means of communication. I was not aware that I had to pay any fees and I strongly feel my case should be re-visited. How can I pay for something I was not informed about? The only form of communication I got from the embassy was the one stating that my passport was ready for collection. I am currently back in Lagos and I am considering going to the high commission In Lagos to lodge my complaints, but thought to see if anyone could shed some light first. All the numbers posted on their site are completely unreliable.

Please help if you can.

I was denied in 2008 reason being that the statement of account seems ingenuine.....
Vicjustice: You are correct, they don't usually state the ban on the refusal letter, it is up to the applicant to realise that s/he has been banned by considering the reason(s) for the refusal: If an applicant is refused a visa for reason of deception, there is no If, But, How, the person should be wise enough to realise that s/he has been banned. But yet, there are some merciful Visa Officers who like to give a clue of the ban such VO would say things like: "You signed the terms and conditions of making a Visa application and you are aware of the consequences of using deception"
Travel / Re: General UK Visa Enquiries - Part 2 by opsy4real1: 7:02am On Dec 03, 2013
but i learnt frm much earlier posts frm dis thread that even if one is banned frm u.k or ireland that they dont categorically state that you are banned on the refusal letter. How come then do 'marksamk' know he had been banned frm Irish embassy for 5yrz frm October,2009 if it wasnt stated in his refusal [quote author=worry 359]
Just do the sums!
2009 Oct plus 5 years is 2014 Oct.

But remember as someone with a bad record then they are not waiting at immigration to welcome you back with flowers!
You have a bad record which will stay with you!
It will be very difficult convince Embassy that THIS time you will not break the rules.
Why should they let you enter when you caused problems before?
