The Governors are the weapon fashion against Nigerians. LGA Autonomy: Governors No. House of Assembly Autonomy: Governors No. Regular payment of Salary: Governors No. Gratuities payment: Governors No. Invest in Agriculture: Governors No. Invest in MSMEs: Governors No. Hold your state Governors, they are one of the major problem 5 Likes 2 Shares |

120k is not enough for a family of 5. So, I am not sure how N62k makes sense. If the government increases it, market women will increase prices too. Honestly, an increment of wages is not the answer to this crisis. It is a double-edged sword. The answer is to fight the government and senators concerning looting and juicy take home they have. 300% increment for judiciary at this time should be resisted. But can this happen? Nope. So, you are all wasting your time. The moment we had Tinubu, Atuku, and Obi, who were all looters and thieves as the last presidential candidates, I knew we were going to be in soup. A word is enough for the wise. Start growing your food. Many of you are complaining and giving excuses. OK, ooooo. You can not win the government. Grow greens and fruits. Produce poultry meat and eggs. These are enough for you to survive Nigeria no matter the situation ahead. I know you get coconut head. So, keep fighting the government. No be me hunger go kill. Na you. Lol. 2 Likes |

epainos:1. Why in the world is the aim for a family of 5 when instead minimum wage should be based on what individuals earn? 2. This is unnecessary fear-mongering? Did the same market women increase prices each time the reps and senators padded their pockets? 3. Nonsense! The international poverty line, which is currently $2.15 per person per day, is the threshold that determines whether someone is living in poverty. Given that, for an individual to escape poverty, he/ she needs to earn at least $64. 50 cents which is approximately Naira 94,893.69. If a raise is not given to these people that makes sense, you are looking at SKyrocketing poverty levels in Nigeria over the next few months and with that increased corruption, crime, etc. 4. First, securing better wages, the fight can be taken to them when they refuse to pay up. 5. I see you have never in fact worked on these things yourself. How long will it take people to grow those things? You speak as though farming happens overnight. Abeg commit ojare! 2 Likes 1 Share |

pekisdgee:It seems you don't gerrit; NLC is not really fighting for the masses. It has since bcum a political tool to fight the sitting govt. The inflation that resulted from the aftereffect afterr subsidy removal it's still there, now they want to intentionally ground the economy with their grandstanding. Have you not seen that the specific 'group' in nigeria (of which the NLC leader -ajaero- is a part of, are the main ones grandstanding that the strike must go on so long as the FG refuses to dance to their tune?? Go to page one of this thread and read the comments: the same ppl mocking the FG/Apc and it's followers are the same ppl who are the ringleaders in egging on NLC to emback on the strike. The poster below is another example of what I was just saying: while he's 'agitating' for a humongous MW, he's also mockingly saying that they will increase the prices of their goods to neutralize the effect of the wage increase. You can see that these 'group' is not sincere. Nairalander248: 1 Like

NewHe:Not even close considering it does not in any way make up for the value lost as a result of the Naira crisis. The Naira depreciated by at least 340% in value since February of 2023 causing the minimum wage formerly worth about $67.72 to depreciate significantly to just over $20.00 where it is today. Do you know what that means? it means that to get back to the buying power of their money as of February 2023, for example, the old minimum wage of Naira 30,000 would need to be boosted by at least 340% to bring it up to about Naira 102000 in today's money which is approximately a starting $68. This is all talking of the beginning point of the negotiations if the NLC is serious about in fact getting the minimum wage raised, and not merely adjusted for depreciation in the Naira value. So, Naira 65,000 - Naira 68,000 is not OK. 1 Like |
