Lol!

Will your parents manage your family for you? Very immature.

Go do research and see if she is really OK. Most Nigerian parents don't care after you have kids. PCOS is more than that. Most Nigerian parents are too selfish... all they want are grandkids. Are you a kid?

Anyway....read this:
https://www.healthline.com/health/pcos-diet#foods-to-avoid

Summary: Diet is the long-term strategy to fix most of these modern diseases. PCOS is mainly a hormonal imbalance caused by modernisation. Our grand parents knew nothing about it.

Let her stay away from sugar for just one month, and you will see more improvement in her. Yes, you didn't say how she is doing presently, but trust me... let her just stay away from sugar... stay away from carb. Just try it. Let her eat organic veggie, meat, milk, and eggs. Just try it. Not those rubbish eggs sold around....not those rubbish milk in cans and packs....

Stay blessed.

Our grand parents knew nothing about many things simply because their knowledge was limited.

How do you know if there is blockage.
My girl friend is having a similar issue, we have been battling with it for years now.
Initially she was not serious with it as she was comfortable with the idea of never getting pregnant.
We are 4 years together now and she has never conceived and not it's raising worries.
In her own case, she sometimes stays for 6 months without seeing her period.

What is her chances of ever conceiving ??

There is a test the gynaecologist would do on her.. it's called HSG (hysterosalphinography).. it's basically injecting some special kind of fluid inside her and taking an xray kind of image.. if the fallopian tubes are blocked, it would should on the image.. because the fluid injected won't reach the end of tube where the ovary is.. if the tube is free, the image would show it passing all the way.

It's a specialised test done only by experts in that field.. just request HSG.. they would understand.

Are you saying PCOS existed in their days? Lol.

I guess you are the one who simply knows nothing about many things simply because your knowledge is limited. If not, you will realise that science is going back to the exact things our grandfathers used in those days. Lol.

You better start updating your knowledge with 2020 to date innovation and discoveries, and then you will realise that .....wow....these are the ways of our grandfathers.

There’s this girl I have been dating for a couple of months now, we are planning on settling down soon. She was diagnosed with PCOS couple of years ago before I met her, had a surgery and one of her ovaries were removed. Though she still ovulates and sees her period, I am kind of worried if there will be any issues in the future.
My parents doesn’t know about her surgery yet. Should I tell them about it?

Is she in OAU?

Since you have resolved to make her your wife. It is better not to divulge this to your parents. Since she is ovulating, she will certainly bear children.

Let your parents know. Don't hide it from them. If you ever told her that one of your testicles got removed, but you still ejaculated, should she still remain with you? Ask yourself that question. She'll definitely have fertility issues. Don't let feelings blind you.
She may not have any fertility issues. After all women with the 2ovaries in place may still experience fertility issues.

Telling his parents does not make any difference. They should simply understand each other, stick together and work together. Everything will be fine!

You don't need to tell your parent but to tell yourself the truth. One of the way is to impregnate her

I will not mention my wife case but we consulted gynecologist and he said everything was fine.
My wife was ovulating and this gave us more assurance.
After wedding, reality set in. No fruit of the womb. By the time you spend half of your income on different test, you will get sense and love will disappear after five years. If you love her and want to be sure impregnate her and fix your wedding for eight month

What would your, my fore parents probably know about PCOS? How would they even know there was something called PCOS? How would they even know that someone was suffering from PCOS? grin grin grin
Your forefathers would give births to 10 children and all of them would die in their infancy. They would struggle to have just a kid staying alive. That was how limited their knowledge was

I might sound a bit ruthless...

In Life, especially these days, don't ever stretch your neck for a spouse / partner male or female.

She wouldn't if the situation was reversed and you have fertility problems.

Pump and Dump her.

I personally know one "useful" girl with PCOS, can't cook, can't clean, she just wants a Prince Charming that will pay all her bills and she contributes nothing.

God forbid. I f*cked her and fled.
You don't know very little about life. Women are still more self sacrificing in marriages than men. With time comes in experience.

Telling anyone won't change anything. If you too suffered together, you have to suffer till the end. No do yahoo to the innocent girl unless you no trust her past life. Marriage no be beans

You're the one who's about to commit and spend the rest of your life to the lady not them.

Oil dey your head.

That lady will have fertility issues.

If she conceives and delivers safely, the child will be a sub-child.

The girl is an honest person for telling you such a deep secret, some ladies whose womb have already being removed during a reckless abortion, would rather hide the secret and get married to you then when she cant conceive , she will be like "its God that gives children, God's time is the best", bla bla. Pls seek a professional advice from a Consultant Gynecologist, present her for diagnosis and you will be advised appropriately, not your parents. Your parents wont give you rational advice it will be an emotional one, trust me it will be that you let her go, they want to see their grand children. Lol, parent will always be parent. Not even any other member of your family should know, because the advise you will get will be unprofessional, irrational and emotional. Goodluck
Re: PCOS: Should I Tell My Parents About It? by clarion30(f): 8:16pm On Jun 20
Why not take her to see a gynae, she was sincere enough to tell you about it. Seek advice from a gynae not your parents.

Marriage never even start you don dey involve your parents.

If you really want to marry her, go see a doctor and discuss her chances of getting pregnant or you break off the engagement.
