Consequently, in 1956, Western Igbo leaders organized the AMA1 conferences where it was resolved that the answer to the political problems of the Western Igbos was to create a West Niger Igbo State with the Headquarters at ALIDINMA. DiademSh07: Did you not do comprehension in your secondary school? Cos you are seriously not making use of your comprehension skills here. Now take a deep breath, and try to use your comprehension skills this time around. To make it easier for you. Agbor is the centre of Ika civilization, Idumueje- Ugboko is an Ika town, while Aboh is the centre of Ukwuani civilization. Now do you understand, or do you need more simplification? 1 Like |

DiademSh07: You are still not making use of your comprehension skills. Nigeria was divided into three regions in 1939 by Bernard Burdillion, the region were : The Northern region, The Eastern region and The western region. Before then, we had just two protectorates of South and North. Bernard Burdillion division of the country into three regions, divided Igboland into two, while the majority were in the East, the rest were in the west. The Agbor, Idumeje-ugboko and Aboh kings were not happy that the western Igboland were separated from the Eastern half, so they petitioned the colonial government against the move to separate the western Igbos from their kin and kiths who were now called Easterners. Do you comprehend now? 2 Likes |

The hilarious thing about it, no delta igbo was excited about being pushed in western Nigeria. We alomg with the benin kings championed for seperation of midwesr to west. Till date, excluding maybe edo state, nonr of us want to return back to Western Nigeria. Even during biafra war, the ppl that represented delta igbo the most in the biafran army were ika. There were more of them in that military than others, albeit there were more them that nigerian army than others as well (although the percentage is smaller compared to the ones in biafran army). They pretty much represented delta igbo in both side. Don't mind the untraveled yoruba buf00n that thinks what he reads online is now reality. If Igbos are really living in fear in Nigeria, it is their own Shadows they fear.. Out fear, hate and bitterness are born. Nobody is after Igbos in Nigeria. Yaradua was there for just 3 years, as a Notherner, did he cheat the Igbos or castigate them? No!! Obasanjo was there for 8 years, he put Igbo stamp all over his administration. The Igbos among Igbos that are afraid of Nigerian tribes, are afraid of what they have done and what they may do that'll court the hatred of others.. All these victim mentality is just some sentimental bulkshit. Are other tribes the reasons Igbo politicians are corrupt? Did other tribes impose corrupt leaders on Igbos? Trying to court pity after wounding yourself by yourself is pathetic and smears of cowardice.. Igbos should look inward for the object of their fears. Since Buhari won, fear fear don wound una souls. Stop supporting corrupt individuals because they are Igbos. The Igbos supported GEJ, because the other major tribes in Nigeria didn't, it has turn to "they hate us Igbos" blah blah blah blah... I don't pity any tribe in Nigeria. Minority or majority unless they are being cheated. And instead of pity, I always stand on fairness and support their agitations. Igbos are not being cheated in Nigeria SHIKENA!! Neither are they being persecuted. The fear is of own's shadow. Your own deeds are torturing you with fear not hatred from without.. When SS tribes started bombing, Nigeruans fully understood what they are fighting. They got the pity and support of Nigerians even to the North. Because how can the live line of Nigeria be coming from ND and the people are impoverished? The pity I had for ND tribes especially Ijaws is not there anymore except for my support got genuine agitation. ND supported a nonentity in the name of tribe and region but now, they hate Everyone else for not following them. Yorubas are the most influential tribe in southern Nigeria, there can never be a strong Southern unity without this tribe but what do we get? Hatred from others in same south. Really, the Yorubas have paid their dues when it comes to Southern solidarity. Now, it's best everybody knows where they stand first before trying to band everyone together. Historically, the Yorubas have more ties with Northern Regions than most Southern regions save the Edo tribes and some Delta tribes. But this is not about Yorubas so let's kil that part. The Igbos are speaking with multiple voices here. Some want presidency, some want juicy appointments, some want secession, some want different things. You don't expect any administration to cater to all those wants.. Igbos have nothing to fear more than the Hausas and Yorubas do. Simple !!! If your reference of fear stems from Biafra war, read balanced views on the war and you'll realize the war is over when Igbos accept their faults and not blame Yorubas and others. You want to say the coup plotters don't represent all of Igbos but with the same breath talk as if those in the counter coup reps all of Hausas or that the Yoruba soldiers who fought for Nigeria reps all Yorubas while not willing to judge Yorubas by the Yoruba soldier who fought on the Biafran side.. It doesn't make any sense.. Your fears are unfounded simple!!! Go seek pity elsewhere.. We are all Nigerians and we have one collective fear, the break of a civil war and the destruction of the country. 1 Like |

0lumide: Stop trying to change history. We know who fought for mid west and we are extremely grateful to them. Likewise thankful to Azikiwe and Bello for listening to our cries. But the journey to August 9, 1963 was not an easy one. We. Midwesterners, must remain eternally grateful to those who fought for the creation of the state. Prominent among those was the Oba of Benin, Akenzua II, without whose personal intervention and guidance the state may not have been created in 1963. The others whose names must be recognized were Dennis Osadebay, Jereton Marierie, and James Otobo . It is instructive to note that Otobo was the only prominent member of the Action Group (AG) from the region who fought publicly for the creation of the Midwest State. As we celebrate the 33rd anniversary of the Midwest State, I am sad to declare that we have not done anything to immortalize the lives of those four freedom fighters.MIDWEST HISTORY MONTH 1999 by O. 0lumide: I guess this ediot is not aware Dennis Osadebay, a man that fought alongside Oba Akenzua and one of the biggest advocate for mid west creation alongside Obas is Anioma. Like I told your useless brothers I don't waste my precious times with Yoruba that does not know the history of others but always Loud mouthing like they know everything yet displaying constant cluelessness. Go read up on the two articles I gave you and read How every community in delta/edo from Anioma down to Benin advocated and fought for mid west creation with the named leaders being the head on this avocation. Equally read and learn why those leaders fought hard to get us out of western Nigeria. Take your propaganda story somewhere else As I said before and I'll say it again. Una propaganda does not work on me. I know my history. My family made sure of that. Try someone else willingly to listen to yoruba usual propaganda. Swerve left 3 Likes 1 Share |

pazienza: Let me take your post in pieces. First off, the issue that we are subservient to the North. In the 50 year history of Nigeria, the opposition has always been primarily from the SW. And in the darkest days of Abacha, as I remember, it was the SW (special mention to Alfred Rewane and Saro Wiwa too) that was bearing the brunt. As I remember, Ojukwu openly did an about turn on June 12, and won back 2 of his houses that had been seized for decades. As Soyinka exclaimed at the brazen betrayal, "oro pesi jeee!". Brother pazienza, where were all the Igbo umbrella groups? Same story when IBB was in power. And Shagari. Say what you will, but it is on record that majority of Yoruba leadership did not bend to the power of ghana-must-go bags in any administration. On to your next point. The treason claims in which the FG said Awo was working with Nkrumah was nonsense. You know it, Zik knew it, Balewa knew it. And Balewa knew there was no way Awo was going down on such ridiculous charges. For legal nonsense to stick, they needed political backing. Akintola was meant to wrest control from Awo in the West, but he ended up being a minor irritation at best, even with his oratorical skills. And this is where Zik comes in. Without Zik and his party's support, Awo goes nowhere, Yoruba judge or not. (RIP to Adesanya and co who mounted vigorous defense in those dark days) . When Zik gave his political consent, he thought he was on his way to ultimate power, but it backfired. Alas the illterate Northerner was smarter than he calculated! And innocent people died for that mistake. Awo did what he was supposed to do. Protect himself and his people from power mongers. Getting back to the original point, Nyerere makes great points about the validity of a people self determining their own future. I have no problem with that. Neither does Awo or Yorubas. It is important that every African be his brother's keeper. But lets tell the truth and stop lying on other people to make ourselves look better. You were not innocent actors trying to get their own homeland. You were also part instigators, playing a power game of thrones without considering the cost. And it bit you. And you have ever since been trying to lay the blame at other people's feet. But thank God, the records are still preserved to this day. Special shout out to all the Nigerians, Igbo or not who are dedicated to seeing the Nigeria and the black race make something of themselves instead of wallowing in hate forever. 2 Likes |

TRUTHTOPOWER: Bro, l really don't think I used any foul language in my analysis, but, if you think I did, all the same, I apologize. I read your response to my write up, and clearly understand your points. I do not think that describing certain cultural characteristics within any group as a part of other groups can be characterized as being prejudice to that cultural group On the rest of your analysis, personally, I don't think it touched on the core issues of Nigeria political tragic history, present and how this tragedy can be corrected. You really did not provide any practical approach in dealing with this tragic situation the country have found it self. Your attempt at solutionable approach is both passive and superficial. Again, the questions Igbos ask themselves of which I'm asking you as well is, the kind of institutions and structures we need in a country like ours to address so many myriads of problems (like running sharia parallel to a secular constitution, boko haram, fulani herdsmen slaughtering unhindered, yoruba vs igbos, Agitations for Biafra and etc, the list is endless). When the Republican Igbos look at this tragedy, it overwhelms them, hence their agitations and e -fighting with the Yorubas whom the Igbos believed are benefiting from this tragedy. |

You can say non-Igbos used that word "Igbo" for slave in their language, but definitely not in ukwuani. Ukwuani to begin with, was never ONE clan. It was a fragmented area consisting of individual village groups just like other Igbo areas. Ukwuani is a recent name just like Enuani. "Uku/ukwuani means The foot/lower end of the land, "Enuani" means The top of the land. So if you want to take it down the route you are going then we "ukwuani" are not the same.---Chyz* Don jazzy and his family excluding mother are ukwuani why don't you go and tell him he's been calling himself a slave Faze is ukwuani why don't you go and tell him he's been calling himself a slave.
