before benin came to ogba, diobu and ph or whatever places the op mention, there was an igbos man existing there. Before benin came to onitsha, there was an igbo tribes existing there, Before benin came to ndokwa or ukwuani to influenced them a bit, there was igbos pple existing there. Before God sent israelite to occupied the promised land, there were pple existing there called the canaanite and hittite.. Before benin strangers came to ikwerre or aniocha land as the op said, there was an igbo man existing there.. and that s why our language is a symbol of evidence of population of igbo pple living there b4 the arrival of benin strangers.. so make una chill, the most important thing is that if the present edo people cannot communicate with an ogba man, ukwuni man, ikwerre man and onitsha man with his own language then he should forget him/her as a brother to attached with cos language and relationship matters alot. So the benin civilization lost the unity of assimilating one language into their system.. Sometime i wondered who re the benin we re talking here cos in edo state, they have over100 diversity and varieties of languages.. Auchi man does not understand an esan or benin languages, even igbanke man or ika man does not understand the benin language. and they will tell yu they re from edo state but do not understand and speak the same languages... 15 Likes 1 Share |

Chaiii!!! It must really be hard to be an EDO man right now. Hausas don't want you, Yorubas deny you, Igbos distant themselves from you. Edos are in-between-ers. Edos are Yorubas, after-all they share something in common - Treachery!!! 7 Likes |

I recently started meeting some really cool Edo people so I've had a change of heart about you people. I am all for people writing their history but this edo rewritten history of others is annoying. I don't care about yoruba or whoever else Una dey claim but aniocha and Onitsha are not Edo 4 Likes |

biafranking: First off, there is no Bini people in Onicha and...never been. What you have is Igb o who once resided in the Bini area. As for Anioma, What happened was cultural exchanges, simple. Bini never conquered anybody nor extended their empire. They built a wall around their village for fear of the Anioma Igbo like the Agbor. Infact, they were scared of Ndi Agbor. They built their little kingdom and made sculptures and that was it,it didn't go past that. 4 Likes |

Jesusloveyou: Seems you have never heard where edo people twist history and lie that Oduduwa is an edo prince that came to establish Yoruba kingdom all over South West instead of the other way round. I don't know if it is out of pride or anything to them, but we Yorubas has never ever boasted about our status as to being big brothers to the benin people according to history. We just let them yap about to feel a little good about themselves. Even if history is twisted and truncated, the present realities of today is enough evidence that edo people should never ever compare themselves with the Yoruba. The Yoruba origin spans across millions of years, especially the time at which formal education was non existence so sadly not much is really known about it up until to the emergence of Oduduwa. That is where formal education stepped in and the Yoruba consciousness as a whole began to develop. |

Plus the late Chief Anthony Enahoro was the major spearhead for Nigerian independence against colonial rule. Yoruba people kill me with their superiority conplex. Look, we know you have influenced Latin America and no one is taking that away from you, but to be honest that's all you have. If your population wasn't as large, you guys probably wouldn't have been as prominent. 1 Like |

tonychristopher: vicadex07: The problem is seeing Edo as an ethnic group. It was actually a caste in pre-colonial Nigeria. I have compared them to the Brahmins in Hinduism. It was not a religious thing but everyone knew their place in the pyramid and Edo was without a doubt, on top. Pyramid. The base is bigger. tonychristopher: Over bloated? You ignorant fool. If anything Edo history is underrated. And very rarely will you hear Edo people brag about how powerful or mighty they are all the time.. it's always the insecure weak asss Igbos or the annoying hypocritical Yorubas with their illogical lies. Oh how I wish the British wouldn't have set foot near present day Nigeria.. wouldn't have had to deal with either Igbo or Yoruba. 6 Likes |

aim5: You shall never do well modafuka. Edo people...those tiny rats. All of una combined, no reach 1% of Yoruba population worldwide. I have never heard of any edo person making giants strides, new discoveries or inventions both here in Nigeria or worldwide yet they claim one phantom benin "empire". Other tribes disassociate themselves from you cos of your notoriority in international Prostitution, Cultism, armed robbery(Anini and co), and diabolism. Were you blind when this same OP created a thread saying Edos historically own Lagos and that the Yorubas Oduduwa was actually an edo prince. Go through his profile if you didn't see it. If you're a thorough edo man am sure you would have also heard this fable or something similar from your people. You can google it if in doubt I repeat and reiterate, you guys should never ever compare yourself to the great Yoruba people else you shall be disgraced. The Igbos are your mates and you can continue dragging seniority with them fool cos I can see you're both proud idiots. At least both of you have arrogance in common. If you come at me again u will regret it. 2 Likes |

aim5: So all of a sudden the british reduced your so called empire that spanned millions of years and covered almost half of Nigeria and reduced you to nothing more than a minority tribe even in edo state uhn? How come? Did they use selective nuclear weapons on you that left only Yorubas and Igbos to occupy where u initially owned? Remember that the british invasion is not up to 200years old so we should still be able to see the strands and evidences of your so called superior empire till date. Or you mean they nuked your culture, language and billions of edo people off the face of Nigeria leaving only Yorubas and Igbos? What is the total population of the edo people in comparison to Yoruba and has your historical and cultural influence till date ever gone past Nigeria? Am talking of what is on ground now as a pointer to history not some old fables concocted by your ancestors to make themselves feel better. You're so deluded 1 Like |

bokohalal: Thanks for acknowledging that the Igbos are playing catch up to us. They still have a lot to do in all spheres of life especially politically if they would ever have to compare themselves to us. Which edo people are you comparing to Yorubas? Bini people that cannot even totally occupy one small tiny state. You're so deluded. If war ever breaks out btw us, which I don't pray for, they will be completely annihilated 100 times over.
