Those Council roads got asphalt for the first time under Udenwa government.

Arthur Nzeribe never brought a single development project to Orlu lga, that's why he was easily dethroned in 2007.
Udenwa alone couldn't have succeeded in removing Nzeribe from the Senate if Nzribe had done any meaningful development project for Orlu zone when he was in the Senate.

The same manner, we now point out to your friend, Gov.Okorocha, about his responsibilities in Orlu as governor, but you see it as hateful and lies; and Rochas believes he is punishing his old enemies in Orlu.

I don't agree with you that Orlu has become a city because Gov. Okorocha dualized Ihioma Road and the other four very short streets in Orlu; tell that Orlu is a city story to the birds. Population and institutions of learning and Commerce (industry and service companies) make a city. Orlu has none of these except the market established by Udenwa.


Even the university teaching hospital that used to bring a few Naira from govt o Orlu, Okorocha govt has stiffed the hospital, as Okorocha builds ring roads and flyovers and new blocks for the main IMSU campus in Owerri.

Interesting. You not only have the details but accuracy. If another governor followed up Udenwa's development efforts in Orlu zone, as well his strides in urban development in Owerri, Okigwe and Orlu, by now, Orlu could have been competing hard with Owerri in urban sprawling;
Imo people wouldn't have the present ugly and shameful situation where Owerri is the only place with modern infrastructures in Imo state.


A closer look at the size of Orlu urban will show that if provided with a few infrastructures like urban drainage and asphalt of its many roads mostly built up with houses, it shall be closer to the size of Owerri Municipal.

I hope so. Okorocha likes using direct labour instead of international contractors with bidding in order to cut cost. The Orji flyover looks good though.

I've never reached the end of MCC/Uratta Road but from google it is about 12km and ends at Otamiri. I want to believe work will only be done on the urban length of about 4 km.

from mcc junction in wetheral to where the mcc urratta rd ends at uratta juntion/ round about in urrata is 95 % urbanized

If what you wrote above is true then the more reason why direct labour shouldn't have been used since it is just 4km

Are you serious? When did it urbanise to that level? The last time I was there scanty unplanned housing developments were ongoing around Uratta housing up to that power line. I think its called Amawire. Has the urbanisation passed there?

it seems you went there last around 2008...it is still a bit unplanned in that axis but largely built up especially with residential modern normal 2 story variations of houses pilgrims all the way to that urrata junction/round past ama wire axis

I was there last 2012 and noticed the development looked unpleasant to my eyes with villagers creating unarranged layouts and selling lands in plots. My friend wanted to buy land opposite one Anglican church and I discouraged him because of the disorganised development.

The word "Quality" is what constructions are all about, my friend without it constructions are useless. Rural or high traffic roads we need quality i rather see the governor construct five or six quality roads then ten or fifteen substandard roads.

Why is it that this governor lack vision, why Rochas love mediocrity. Just look at this rendering of the bridge just mere looking at the design substandard are written all over it .

The ways of the man is peculiar. Most of the roads earlier thought by many to be substandard have improved to my amazement.
