My people perish for lack of knowledge......

Bro, even when I watched the movie as a child, I understood that Donnie went back in time to save everyone by getting hit with the plane engine. I didn't fully understand the movie but I could grasp enough of it. A second viewing as an adult showed me a lot of subtle clues that I missed.

Donnie Darko is a layered movie. Away from the time travel bit, there is also the teen angst and rebellion aspect of the movie. There is also some classic music in the movie.

I dont know why I am even bothering. You rated Terminator dark fate 9/10.

He went back in time?

I stated that in my statement that you quote.
And for me to have stated that it means I have thought about it that way.
I just don't know how, when etc.. there are no explanation of how he did that in the movie, just theories without practicals.
Also
They all woke up in the end, just like there were all dreaming bla bla bla.. you can also say it's just a bad dream for everyone.

Rating Terminator 9/10 is worth it, I am entitled to my opinion, you do not have to support my views.. I enjoyed it as much as I enjoyed advengers..

I wish HBO and Apple TV+ can do like AmazonPrime and Netflix and release all episodes at once.

BTW, are See and His Dark Materials worth it?

Tom Clancy's Jack Ryan season 2 was more entertaining than the first season in terms of action scenes, but plot wise... it's pretty meh. Too many cliches and whatnot - the age old jingoism and propaganda that depicts America as the good guy, and the rest of the world bad, blah blah blah...

Have seen the pilot episode of See, and man, that show is a mess. The actors are actually great and the cinematography and costumes are sublime, but the plot is a trainwreck. You can't get to point B without going through A, right? Well, this show has other ideas, and it's expecting the viewers to wallow in the preposterity of it. Well, I'm too cynical to do that. If this is how AppleTV intend to corner the streaming market, then I dare verbalize, they are off to a very slow start indeed.

The Witcher's main trailer is out, and it's looking good. Netflix have stated that their aim is to make the medieval fantasy their own GoT, and judging from the ginormous money spent on engendering The Witcher($90m), plus the hiring of GoT's sword instructors, Netflix ain't jesting.

2020/2021 is going to be an epic battle royale for streaming services. The old ones like Netflix will endeavor to invigorate and consolidate, the newer ones like CBS All Access will try to maintain their foothold, and the brand new ones like HBO Max will try to bulldoze their way to the top with revived but beloved old shows. Man, it's gonna be a bloodbath.

It's a good time to be alive if you're a TV series fan indeed.

Am i the only one who thinks Appletv+ initial line up are questionable..like i don't even know who their target audience are...why not just stick with mobile phone and music streaming business and with a company already up to a trillion dollars in earnings, was a Video on demand/ Streaming business necessary?

93 days. 9/10
This is one of best Nollywood movies out there.
The filmmakers really did a great showing the sacrifices made in the awake of Ebola crisis of 2014. Many of us heard Ebola has been contained, but most did not know some people had to bear the brunt.

Cinematography was great, sound design and music score were good as well.
The actors were at their very best.
9/10.

Watching the pilot of another AppleTV's original, For All Mankind, right now, and it's really good. Apple got one lineup right, at least.

That being said, I totally concur with you. Apple ventured into the streaming business too soon. Do you know that there is no AppleTV app on Android TV atm? Considering the fact that well over 70% of all smart TVs are powered by android OS, that's a very dumb business idea. I don't think I'll be exaggerating if I say AppleTV may very well be DOA at this point. You can't be the next Netflix if you are not available on the world's best entertainment platform.

The same reason almost every other tech companies are flirting with the idea of making self driving cars and also pouring billions of dollars into AI and machine learning, nobody wants to be left behind.

Good point, but that's not it.

Shows released on week to week basis generally have more social media buzz than shows released in one day. A weekly release allow viewers to take a breather after every episode, and share opinions and theories, while they wait for the next episode. These discussions amongst viewers create a positive buzz, hype and whatnot for the shows, thereby, manipulating online ratings in the right direction, and by extension, making a good case for these shows longevity.

Netflix don't get that sort of experience with their binge style, and if what I read online in Los Angeles Times is true, they are currently flirting with the idea of abandoning the binge formula, and switching to weekly formula.

So the bingeing culture that Netflix helped introduce to the world may well be on it's last legs.

True. I forgot the buzz and hype that dropping episodes weekly bring. It creates a sort of frenzy and anticipation that helps with the notoriety and ratings of a show. TBH, while I enjoy bingeing style of Netflix and AmazinPrime, from a business POV, especially if I was the owner of any of them, I'll scrap it and go with the regular style of dropping episodes weekly.

I wish that too but you know they got to keep the viewership sustained. Netflix were the pioneers of streaming, so they are the established big boys already (have huge subscription base), same can arguably be said for Amazon Prime.

At least Apple TV+ released 3 episodes of SEE at once, probably cos of initial Launch and promotion.

I haven't seen both. I just downloaded SEE pilot episode few hours ago, and the quick preview I gave it looks promising. How it's going to replicate it's premise in the series is what I'm doubtful of, and it's still the main interest point why I want to see it.

His Dark Materials seem like the GoT replacement for the meantime before the prequel premieres. Looks promising based on the Trailer I watched and going to progress a little slowly, doing it's world building.

You made good points. Since HBO is a seasoned and certified producer of döpe series, I'll have to start watching His Dark Materials while waiting to read encouraging reviews on See. So far, from Koice's appraisals, it's not looking like a series worth taking risk with my precious MB on.

Ooh I see, u dey vex Sha, u don run watch the full season including SEE ASAP. After watching the final trailer that mantra "US is the good guys, others are bad" left a bad taste in my mouth. The main hype I loved about it was as you said more Action. And most definitely the inclusion of Noomi Rapace.

So u mean SEE is actually underwhelming. Apple will have it's work cut out then, it's looking like an insurmountable task taking out the others. Most analyst are just hyping it saying its parent company has big bucks to fight and back it unlike the others. They are kinda underestimating the Financial power of AT&T and Maybe Disney.

Will check out The Witcher latest trailer. As u said Netflix ain't joking around with that Title, 7+ season already envisaged, that's bonkers. Everyone wants to take the THRONE. Casting Henry Cavill as the protagonist with his popularity was a no joke move, I like their Ambitiousness. That's why HBO Max is planning a prequel to retain the Throne with it's bigger $100mn budget. That HBO Max ehn is seriously planning to murder everyone, I hear it is planning a Green Lantern TV show for $100mn.

I swear 2020/21 will be epic indeed. The only people I pity is Apple TV+ and NBCUniversal (is it Pocket or Rocket ??whatever sha). They seem the least and/ or poorly equipped for the Streaming Wars. HBO Max just want to destroy everybody. Disney sef no smile, Netflix no one leave throne for another person, Amazon no one fight for only island again.

The real contender I think will try and take GoT throne is Amazon Prime LoTR series and just maybe Netflix's Witcher. That's if HBO don't use GoT prequel to massacre the others. Marvel will Try to use it's Star Wars and Marvel properties to arm twist the others.

I think Apple's hubris will be their downfall in VOD. That's very foolhardy in my opinion if what you said are true. So they don't plan on hooking up with Android. Na there their death start be dat. That elitist mentality will wipe them out soon , na laugh me I go Sha dey laff.

Well I don't think they ventured too soon in the streaming biz. Infact I'll say they are late. Streaming Is the next Big thing in the Tech world these days. A hold in such entertainment content is the future holds, especially as communications tech improves with 4G/5G and the likes. Infact if you come late you tend to lose against the established patrons. e.g Netflix, Amazon Prime having 150 and 100 million subscriber base presently.

2024 and beyond is where the REAL WAR and Massacre lies cos some are consolidating others are chewed up. That's why most are getting their streaming platform asap and get a sizable market share before that time comes.

So The Academy went ahead to disqualify Lion heart because "it was not culturally appropriate enough and it was in English" really? After changing the category from "Best foreign film to Best international feature film" to accommodate more movies outside of America, Latin America and Europe. So with English been our official and primary language these lots wanted the entire movie to be in Igbo...This is why i have never rated the oscars since for 2 years now..what a sham.
