Hi Lagos peeps.
Pls Who has heard from Xneg- one of you?
I referred someone to him to do a "fast-track" driver's license.

The boy just reported to me that Xneg is yet to provide a license for him after 44days as against 28days promised on his thread
https://www.nairaland.com/5278001/drivers-license-exactly-28-days

I wouldn't want to assume the worst.

What worse? I've not gone anyway, I've just been very busy because eveve got activities and training for the end of year.

Whoever reported to you didn't do well, what exactly is all these, the 28 days quoted is clearly explained, the 28 days is for drivers license processing and printing of the permanent drivers license. The person that informed you doesn't have a driving school code which obviously will take about a week. This is why I choose clearly before I do anything for peeps on NL, I've done for at least 15 people from here without any issue.

Was your brothers' fast track or the normal process?

I actually thought the boy has collected his license long ago only for me to check on him and he's yet to even capture.

Yes got no DS certificate hence we were made to pay a total of 25k for 3year license. He actually captured on the 33 day after payment.

Was it a manual?

Civic manual is unbeatable. I had a 2002 civic (same generation as 2005) few years ago.

Npala:

It's really surprising to me how we compare Corolla to Civic for ehailing. I am not a mechanic and I know just basic things about cars but based on user experience, Corolla 2005 cannot be compared to Civic 2005 for uber and bolt business.

I bought a tokunbo 2005 honda civic and did the initial servicing with the recommended engine oil and ATF and set to the business with it. After like a month and half, the car starts having all sorts of issues and I eventually had to change the transmission and still battling with the car being too low to the ground and leg issues.

A month later, I sold the car for 40% off my purchase amount.

I bought Tokunbo Toyota Corolla 2005, used recommended oil and stuffs and set to work with it. November 2019 will be the 10th month i started with the Corolla and all I have done is just basic servicing and nothing more and I drive at least 4 days in a week.

If you are using Civic for personal use, I am very sure it is a very strong and good car, but drive it from morning to night, 5 times or more a week, for 3 months. It's not good enough.

I am not trying to shade dru23 but this is my experience driving both cars. 100% user experience.

Do NOT quit the 9-5 especially if you could grow in it.

Do Uber part time. Do evenings, weekends, etc.

Only quit for uber full time if you're able to have more than 2 cars on the road.

My 2 cents.

MrDraey:
Good morning people,
Please I am on a verge of going into this business here in Abuja.

However, I am new in town. From enquiry and all I have read here, with the business being saturated, I really need you guys' advise.

Tired of my 9-5job (pays less than 80k) which I want to quit and I have a Honda civic 2010 model at my disposal for HP.

Please guys, I urgently need your raw advise

Lol, 10 yesterday and came out by 5 this morning to complete it.

Amazing! You came out by 5am and by 1:36pm you have done 12trips, and have made 14kplus.

That is to say you did 12 trips in 8hrs, and in 8hrs you made 14k+.

Gentlelife show working please, let here your strategy.

Am of the opinion that people will still be sleeping by 5am and only go or start doing out from 10am, accept by that 5am you positioned at commercial area(clubs, bar, louge, hotels etc). please I want to know, because I here people say they make 25k plus on Saturdays and even Sunday. Please share your experience @gentlelife and others here

5am is the key time to hit the road, in my neighborhood... 5am is a straight go if I can meet it. Before 5:20am I'm already on my first trip, (Airport, Runs girls returning home, Sleepovers) by 10am I would have been on my 4 trip hopefully. Then I take a break of 1hr if no ride and engage again by 12pm to end by 8pm, hopefully I would have gross 12-16k.

Is not always like that, sometimes it happens.
Was just fortunate, I was just shuttling Lekki Ajah and I had to decline one trip that wanted to take me out of the island plus a woman that wanted me to take her to Lagos island because where she want me to stop will be full of traffic so I had to beg her to look for another ride after the stop.

My Oga, i dey try resemble you ni jare.
The trips were back to back yesterday with 11k in my Bolt wallet as at 1pm but i couldn't bear the hot sun anymore , i was scared that my car might respond to the harsh weather, so immediately i dropped off two unilag graduates at ojota, i just drove back to Maryland.

Woke up to complete the 8 trips this morning and my first trip was to Agbowa Ikorodu, I haven't been there before, but rider (80+ octogenarian mama) took me through the journey. To get a return trip was futile after 40 minutes ,so i picked passengers on the road back to Maryland and the rest is history.

But something happened yesterday that i was grateful to God for. Took a one way route at university road to Unilag entrance and i was nabbed by the police men under that tree .
Didn't know it was a one way and the rider too didn't tell me, after so much bickering, i paid 1k and was told to be careful next time .
Another thing that summed up my week is two riders forgetting their wallet and mobile phones in my car . Thank God i haven't stop by the road to pick late night passengers on my way home, may be i would have been begging for money to pay for what i knew nothing about.

Thank God they collected 1k..it almost happened to me at that same location(entrance to unilag)there do not enter is so small men.. At least there would have big signs saying one way ahead, take the next right. I always fill somehow each time am going towards akoka, shomolu, bariga, One way is to much there. That's how I followed one like that in bariga at night the police just rushed out with guns, Men these country erh is built to make you fail. The odds you need to fight against but we are here it can't defeat us

Don't fall for all these USP. There is a procedure they follow especially for first timers. The person must wait the stipulated period of time, they will always tell you 28 working days(note working days) but at the end it might linger mine took 6months so please if you know anybody that wants to do again, let the person just pay the normal fee, forget about all these fast track
