thanks so much for the explanation
samolaniyi:

AP is administration processing:This is period when the embassy placed the applicant on AP after the interview to carry out a back-ground checking on the applicant or selectee information and document submitted for visa processing.A visa applicant can only be placed on administration processing if the CO is not convinced with information and document the applicant submitted and if the CO also felt that there is inconstitences, negative facial expression, unnecessary anxiety, fraud, total different in picture used in entranct status to the applicant attending interview, played as single/married and appeared as married/sinle (but not in all cases),etc...

Their three cases of visa procedure:A visa can be issued, denied or placed on AP.
Travel / Re: DV 2014 Winners Meet Here by rantileye: 10:31am On Jan 09, 2014
please what do you mean by AP?

samolaniyi:

Yes,its about 95% success rate. However, its heavily depends on your case.If all information giving to KCC is actual and correct to the best of your knowledge and well supported with valid document. The success rate is 100%,but it also depends on the timing.i.e if the AP does not last longer than 30th september.

My friends forumite, i will love to know your opinion (s) on something. While filling those forms sent to KCC,I typed all the information after downloaded the forms on the PC. But i later discovered there was an error that i need to correct and am not current yet till April next yr. i wrote KCC to notify them of the error and below is the reply they sent to me...

Reply from KCC
Thank you for your inquiry.

It is acceptable to use correction fluid to correct mistakes made while completing your forms. If you have detected an error on a form you have already submitted, you can send the corrected information to KCC through regular mail or email. If there are more than one or two minor corrections, you may submit a corrected copy of the forms. You can use photocopied forms or you can download them from http://www.travel.state.gov/visa/forms/forms_1342.html .

MY question is that....(1) IS FILLING OF THOSE FORMS BY TYPING THE INFO ON IT IS THE CORRECT WAY OR PRINTING THE FORMS OUT AND FILL WITH PEN?
(2) IF I RESEND THE CORRECT INFO NOW WILL I STILL CURRENT AT DUE TIME OR NOT?

kevwe_flex:

Greetings!
A DV lottery winner will become an LPR (Lawful Permanent Resident) after successful interview not just because one is selected. If permanent residence is granted, the winner (and his/her family, if applicable) receives an immigrant visa in their passport(s) that has to be "activated" within six months of issuance at any port of entry to the United States. The new immigrant receives a stamp on the visa as proof of lawful admittance to the United States, and the individual is now authorized to live and work permanently in the United States. Finally, the actual "green card" typically arrives by mail within a few months.
Any person not a citizen of the United States who is residing the in the U.S. under legally recognized and lawfully recorded permanent residence as an immigrant. Also known as "Permanent Resident Alien," "Resident Alien Permit Holder," and "Green Card Holder." source
A lawful permanent resident can apply for United States citizenship, or naturalization, after five years of residency. This period is shortened to three years if married to a U.S. citizen. Lawful Permanent Residents may submit their applications for naturalization as early as 90 days before meeting the residency requirement. Citizens are entitled to more rights (and obligations) than permanent residents (who are still classified as aliens in this respect). Lawful Permanent Residents generally do not have the right to vote, the right to be elected in federal and state elections, the ability to bring family members to the United States (permanent residents are allowed to sponsor certain family members,[10] but this is often not practical due to long approval delays),[11][12] or eligibility for federal government jobs. Male permanent residents between the ages of 18 and 25 are subject to registering in the Selective Service System. Permanent residents who reside in the United States must pay taxes on their worldwide income, like U.S. citizens. Regards to the comment above, is it possible for the DV winner to come back to Nigeria to marry and take his wife down to US? and if possible, how long must the DV winner stay in the state before the wife can join and possibly d children if there is any?
Travel / Re: DV 2014 Winners Meet Here by rantileye: 6:36pm On Dec 04, 2013
Regards to your advice here CANDYTOS, please can u shed more light to you first under listed advice . I mean how long does it take for someone to bring his or her love to USA in case of such situation happen?
candytos:

Bro, I beg to disagree on this one, if you inform them you were married before you applied for the visa lottery (the application done by your friend) the standing rule is that you will be disqualified (please read the DV rules properly) and note you already sent your DS forms confirming you are single, so any attempt now to change your marital status will be seen as fraud and automatic disqualification. If u inform KCC that you are married they will accept your new form and send you ur 2NL, but your inconsistency will be noted in your file and the embassy will wait for u collect your money for visa processing for you and your dependents and then disqualify you, this is hard fact.
you have two options to this challenge you are in
.
1. Convince your wife to let you go as single then at a later date you will arrange to file for her to join you. You will be filing for her as if you got married after you migrated to US. This option is much safer, but there is a awaiting period and requires a lot of patience and faithfulness from both of you.

2. Take the advise above by timmoyegun, its risky but with fasting and prayer there is nothing God cannot do for a faithful child, you might find favor with the CO, when you open up truthfully to him/her.

I wish u God's divine favor in whatever decision you are taking.
Absolutely YES . All my family documents are laminated & no embassy ever raised objection to it. It is a way of protecting & preserving it.

thanks so much for the answer.

Please a friend asked a question that i cant answer directly, the questions is can LAMINATED DOCUMENT be honored at the embassy. Such as NPC certificate and WAEC result.

thanks so much for this vital information... i really appreciate it

Obatide:
You are welcome sir.
KCC and LagosIV have final say on all issues as someone has advised you to contact KCC.
However, if you don't present your case in a manner that portray truth and uniqueness, you may end up getting a generalized response, that's the more reasons I believe if you read other people's idea, it may restructure your enquiry to get the desired response.
Now to your Question:
The Embassy emphasized that Reschedule interview may not be entertained in this fiscal Year, hence, they advice invitees to attend their appointment. Note that though, the fisca year will end on September 30th, 2014.
So, If you are yet to receive 2nd NL by that time, you can still update your record with KCC and still meet up.
On a personal note once again, pls read that 2013 thread I referred you to. I have my reasons.
If you can review this 2014 thread between October 17 to early Days of this November, you will see where som1 post a reply from KCC, when he notified them of a new child birth. Take note of that reply from them pls. I have attached it here for your peruse.

Take note of BOLDED as im Wishing you all the best Sir.

jigga40: i think the best tin u can do now is to contact KCC and give them a comprehensive explanation of your situation! i tink they are in best position to tell you d 'RIGHT' steps to follow so as not to jeopardize ur chances! Please don't do anytin on assumptions! Goodluck!

Thanks so much for your concern i will as you rightly said..... And please how long can someone stay in the country here before leaving after the successful interview?

What an interesting question, but delicate at the same time.
DV programme is a Lottery and Life cannot be stagnant all because of plan to win lottery.
if your marriage is as a result of genuine long time relationship and you can proof that to the CO with whatever evidence of long time even before you applied for the Lottery, you should be good to go.
Otherwise, on a personnal opinion, I will advice you to revist your decision.
Issue similar to this came up in 2013 thread, Read between JUNE and OCTOBER postings on 2013 thread.
I hope it helps a bit?

Thanks so much OBATIDE, i really appreciate your advice and the clarification as regards my question. I and my fiance have been together for sometimes but the i played as SINGLE and likewise she did too but why i sent my forms earlier was that she wanna finish her study first here before she can travel so we agreed for me to go first and we can arrange the wedding after her school which will make her to come to me later on. But now am confused coz i dont wanna leave her behind and at the same time i dont wanna do sometime that can disqualify the process...MY QUESTION NOW IS THAT , CANT OUR NEW FORMS AFTER THE WEDDING GONNA MEET UP WITH THE FISCAL YEAR APPOINTMENT AGAIN?... thanks for been there.

It is appropriate if he does it 4, and dis is because part of d process does not need ur active participation. 1. U don't swear an affidavit urself, it is an older family member dat is expected to do dat 4 u. 2. If ur brother has ur info wit wch to apply 4 ur NCP certificate, he can do so.
So don't worry, just make sure d info he applied wit are all correct

thanks so much chiwuike20
