If you have removed subsidy and the product you are importing is sold based on buying price, why worry that others are benefitting?

At least people from Cameron and Niger benefitting from it are not stealing it. They buy it.

Except there is something they aren't saying.

Philipponzaghi:
Obasanjo needs to understand that progress comes with challenges. Tinubu's decision to remove the subsidy was a bold step towards long-term economic growth. We can't keep holding onto short-term fixes that stifle our potential. Change is hard, but necessary for a brighter Nigeria. Let’s support our president as he navigates these tough waters.

helinues:
I really don't understand the kind of politics the Northerners like to play by destroying their own region just because they are dissatisfied with the government.

There are so many ways to express themselves which won't involved any destruction.

Boko Haram, Bandits, killer herdsmen destructions are still there, now they want to add protest destructions which wont even change a thing.

If you destroy your own land, na same people people destroying it would suffer it, not the government, not the policians.

Fishes are not found on top of mountains oo

Northerners are not like you who is suffering terribly under this Bulaba government yet still ass-licking Tinubu because of a 10 kobo per post job on nairaland

Jman06:
The turn the protest is taking is dangerous and has alot of hipocrisy all over it.

If you're a southerner and can think properly, you should know the motive of some of these "rioters" from the other side of the country already.

Tinubu, on the other hand, should take all the steps to alleviate the current hardship by ensuring that the cost of essential goods like foodstuffs are reduced drastically. Even if it means going all out to enforce the reductions with security agents, so be it.

Southern what?

When Southwest were occupying Ojota in 2012, how many of this type of thread did you create?

Politics / Re: For Black Countries To Succeed They Must Drop Religion by saddler: 1:58pm On Aug 05
babasolution:
Religion both traditional and foreign are a problem to Africans and blacks all over the world.

Religion beclouds the brain and prevents rational, logical and strategic thinking.

Religions removes the power from the human and places it with the unseen. It unempowers the individual.

until majority of black people atleast learn to move away from religion in all forms and embrace logical, rational, strategic thinking. They will ever remain unempowered.

Note: you can' never separate religion from your reasoning system.

Black people don't reason well and deeply that's why they are backward.

This is a fact.

A human being's value in terms of ability to innovate, invent and conquer the earth depends on brain work and function.

Unfortunately, the brain of a human is what religion works on. Religion is like a parasite that infects the brain and slowly takes over the host until the human being become a zombie Incapable of sound, rational and logical reasoning.

Sound ,logical and rational reasoning is required for innovation, invention and scientific research and development.

For the blackman to develop, religion must die.

Family / Re: How Bed Bugs Made Me Relocate: by saddler: 5:47pm On Aug 03
YINKS89:
Personal experience;

So it happened that my dad sent me to one of his friends office to pick up a file and on getting there the man was not around so the secretary asked me to sit down on the sofa (my greatest undoing)

The man's office is a very big one so they have a separate visitors room where you can just relax while you wait for him. I sat down and slept off while waiting for him but woke up to a sting.

My first thought was maybe it was this normal mosquitoes that flies around so I did not read much to it then the man came attended to me and I went to give my dad his files. Note that I don't stay with my dad so immediately I dropped the file I excused myself and went home to my roomself contain on getting hoke I took off my cloth threw ot on the bed and went to take my shower (2nd mistake).

When I got back I picked up the clothes and put it in the basket unbeknownst to me I already have a foreigner in my room. After about 3 days I started noticing stings but this was different from the normal mosquitoes because I fleet my room at interval. One night it was so much that I had to wake up in the middle of the night to check that was when I stone of them on the wall, I killed it but then I begin to wonder how I got it there.
To cut the story short I discovered that I got it from my dad's friend office the day they decided to dispose off the Cushine in that off due to bug and funmigate then it dawn on me where they came from.

Note that I used a lot of chemicals but they wouldn't leave, sniper ,DD force, baygon even kerosene but alas that said my time is over in that house. Immediately my rent was due I took very few cloths to the dry cleaner got rid of most of my household items by selling it off to get a new one and that was how I got rid of bed bugs.

Those things never die.

If you've ever experienced bed bug invasion share your experience and how you got rid of them.

Islam for Muslims / Re: Why Protesting Or Rebelling Against The Ruler Is Not Always The Solution? by saddler: 1:10pm On Aug 02
Lukgaf:
Nobody likes bad leaders, poor governance, or insecurity. We all desire to live safely in our country, find employment, conduct our businesses with ease, and enjoy the resources that Allah has blessed us with, just like people in other countries.

However, when we have leaders or live in a country where we don't enjoy these benefits, protesting or rebelling against the ruler is not always the solution. Many real-life incidents confirm that such actions often worsen the situation rather than improve our well-being and governance. A typical example is what happened during the 2020 EndSARS protest in Nigeria, as well as in Sudan, Kenya, and other places where protests led to more chaos.

Why people should refrain from protesting?

IslamQA

Strikes and protests can result in greater trouble, leading to chaos, oppression, and the assassination of innocent people. This has been observed in states like Kano, Borno, Kaduna, and Yobe yesterday.

What is the solution?

We should all fear Allah – both leaders and followers. Often, we deserve the kind of leaders we have because we, the followers, are even worse.

I watched a video of some guys destroying a traffic light. How does protesting justify destroying properties? You complain of bad governance, yet you destroy the little you enjoy?
أفلا تعقلون؟
(Will you not reason?)

Our leaders should remember that they will stand before the Lord of the worlds and account for whatever they have done, including how many lives were lost or people suffered as a result of their bad policies. Where are the past bad leaders? They are no more, and you too will be no more one day. So, a good leader should reflect on this.

Umar (رضي الله عنه) said during his regime that if a horse stumbled due to bad roads, he would be held accountable for it. That's why records show that he and other past leaders would sneak into people's houses at night to check on their affairs. Our leaders should emulate this.

Advice to Those Close to Leaders

Those who are close to the leaders – their advisers and assistants – should fear Allah and tell them the truth. Many are sycophants who tell the leaders what they want to hear, lying that everything is good for their own benefit. They should remember the day they will stand before Allah and that whatever prestige or wealth they accumulate will end in this world. Leaders should be ready to listen to the truth.

Role of the Elites and Religion leaders

Our elites and those close to our leaders should explain the situation and advise on how it can be resolved. They should not leave them!

May Allah bless our country.

Abu Afs Lukgaf

Utter gibberish from beginning to end.

The citizens that are suffering hunger, insecurity, poor health and lack of basic amenities shouldn't protest but should wait for Allah to do what?
