Daddyzee:

Hey Bro, My personal experience might help. I got so frustrated with IBTC once that I had to log on to their site and copied the names of all the folks in their stock brokerage department. I called the help lines for their three of their Lagos offices requesting to speak with a couple of those names. I chose a time when the offices must have closed and gave an impression I had to reach them regarding a mandate which they must act on. I struck gold. I got GSM numbers of three people and they have been my contact since then. I call them each time I send a mandate as well as copy them in any of my mandates. It has worked, at least so far.
Good luck wink wink wink wink wink

me think that Napoleon, GCON should write a book, of course using a different identity, so all the guilty deep pockets would not come after you.

I became depressed after reading 1st and 2nd epistle of Napoleon to Nairaland. after all the effort one is making to learn the ropes to the extent of dabbling in voodoo-like stuff such candlesticks, graveyard, marobuzo, mc hammer, deathby hangingman, etc; as if this is not enough putting ears on d ground to hear and bcome fundamentalistmand also sentimentalist; i was made 2 realise that truly there re deep pockets controling NSE and leaving crumbs for others to chew.

but thx 2 wanajo/fo2/etc, there's still money 2b made on NSE for us. sooner/later our pockets wud bcom deep as well, and not by sharp practises. i've taken courage. the conclusion of the matter is that, as long as there is money to be made on the floor, money we shall make.

beginner:

I am totally frustrated, I gave my broker an order to sell union homes when it closed at 9.63 at 9.45, he did not sell cause he said he used his discretion and the market was still bouyant. Now union homes has gone done. For two days now has has not sold my first bank despite agreeing to sell as lowest of the day. This broker is just too slow for CICO and so I am thinking of moving my account to my friend in cash craft. Can someone please let me know how long it would take to move my account. This is decent money and I am just not happy at all.

i don't think you can move your moni 4m one broker 2 another. You may need 2 open the account in Cashcraft or anyother broker, sell off the stock u hav with the current broker, take out ur cash and re-invest with the new broker. you will need to manage ur broker and ensure that u dont sell at a loss. with furthe advise 4m d gurus u may still be able to make profit on another bull run.

For the 1st time since last week i have finally smiled!!!!
My broker got me NEM last friday when it had reached 5.something. about the same time the plane started nose diving!! for 3 days i've been wearing oxygen mask, and praying. Today the plane has re-oriented itself upwards!! hip hip hurray!

by the way, i'm wearing my parachute on my back. as soon as i get to a reasonable altitude, i intend to jump plane before TS. if anyone knows when NEM is about to go on TS pls let me know!! i cannot afford TS!!

are there any other passengers on this NEM flight who entered late? if there are, we may need to start holding all nights prayer sessions!!!

cheers.

How do you cancel orders with cashcraft? There is nowhere to do so on their website

You need to call your broker. i was just musing over the same question b4 i saw ur post. there's no provision 4 cancelling pending orders.

@AKtopgun or is it Pumping? you mentioned setting an expiry date on ur buy/sell order. was that when u were still using cashcraft?

Serious Minded Nairalanders are working class people who come to fora such as this to rub minds and make progress. in this case make money in the NSE. we should not allow people like Flakyy to sidetrack us. there has been no meaning post for a while now thanks to Flakyy and instead of apologising and putting a stop to the detraction SHE (i assume Flakyy is Folake - female) goes ahead and goes ballistic on our Yodiyokun who happens to be one of the queens in this forum (WindyWendy is another one).

flakyy:

Yodi-yokun. You are a bufoon. When people are trying to quench the fire you are stoking it. who are you tell someone to sharap.

Noun 1. buffoon - a rude or vulgar fool

can we go back to the business of this forum? what lies ahead in this week?

Yes, it is possible but I won't say if it is normal. It depends on a number of factors. These include,

1. Is the stock readily available on the floor? If you gave your broker an order to buy AIICO last week and still no luck today, it is not abnormal. The stock has been scarce.

2. Did you give a price cap which is well below the high prices for the period? You may need to raise your bid for success especially if it is a low cap stock with net bid on the floor.

3. Is the turnover volume of the stock unusually low?

etc, etc

So if you want to get better input, you should say which stock(s) you requested for and at what price(s).

i gave instruction for NEM, AIICO and PREMPAINTS(limit price of 5); i did not set any limit price for the NEM and Aiico.l volume traded on NEM and Aiico  have been high but prempaints has bn low(just checked).
thx.

Fellow NairaLanders,

this happens to be my 1st post. i wish i had come across this thread a year or 2 ago,

any way, my concern right now is that, i made some buy orders (oline using Cashcraft) and up until now after 4days of trading, none has been executed!!! i've spoken to my broker several times and he keeps assuring me that as long as the orders were submitted successfully, there is nothin 2 worry about.
right now the planes are taxiing away, and i still have not bought boarded!! any advise?

thx

Dear gurus in the house,

is it a normal thing for you to submit a buy order and after a week the order has not been executed?

i'm upset with the way my broker is nonchalant about the issue. can some one advise? should i accept his assurances that all is well? and as you know the website has been unusable for over a week now.

thanks.
