Properties / Re: What's The Alternative To Asbestos Ceiling In Nigeria? by webbaba: 3:36pm On Dec 29, 2013
jaytime: The best ceiling material is POP ceiling. It's not even an alternative: it's in the class of its own. It is durable, best fire retardant, emits no poisonous substances and very very beautiful to mention a few.
Next to it is PVC ceiling. It might look like plastic but it not truely plastic therefore is fire retardant. It only has some plastic material in it: some are plasticized(PPVC) while some are unplasticized(UPVC). There difference is the quantity of plastic content. PVC doesnt burn as many people misconceive. If u want to confirm, put a piece in fire and watch; any flame?
PVC is not as expensive as POP yet beautiful and easy and takes less time to install(to professionals*) compared to POP. It is light in weight therefore doesnt pose any threat to bad wood/nogging.
It emits no unhealthy agents.
In summary, either POP or PVC is just "cool" in your house.
Thanks for this, please what is the cost implication or market price in Nigeria today for a 3 bedroom bungalow.

EVIL BRAIN INDEED YEYE MAN

Evil Brain: This is not enough. The government should pay the doctors the full amount that was agreed and not a penny less. They shouldn't think that just because they have backed down a little that the doctors will forget the issue that started the whole problem.

If the governmnt tries to remove even 1 kobo from a doctor's hard earned salary, they will face the fight of their lives. They may be able to get away with this type of nonsense with the poor masses who don't know their rights, but doctors are cut from a different cloth.
Politics / Re: Jonathan's Plot To Disunite The Southwest by webbaba: 9:58pm On May 29, 2012
Akanbi_edu: This may not be a plot but . . . . it is highly anticipated by political observers that if Jonathan wants to contest for 2015 presidential elections (most likely the case), he will try to destabilize the SW. This expectation is based on experience.

Politics / Re: Reuben Abati Explains Why The President Didn't Say Amen To Anti Corruption Pray by webbaba: 9:30pm On May 28, 2012
UTTER RUUBBIISSHH But full of interpretations, misinterpretations, hidden agendas and implications
iluvnaija: Abuja– Spokesperson for President Jonathan Ebele Goodluck, Mr Reuben Abati, has responded to accusations that Jonathan and members of his cabal refused to say amen to at this weekend’s democracy day Church Service when the preacher offered a prayerful curse against corruption amongst public officials.

Speaking to reporters, Mr Abati revealed aspects of protocol that are not widely known outside Government circles, and which would explain why Mr President and ministers didn’t say Amen to the prayer by Most Reverend Peter Akinola, committing corrupt politicians to the court of God.

According to him, it is a long standing presidential protocol that during Church or Mosque services, the President only offers a fixed number of amens or amis, as the case may be.

The Reverend had offered many prayers and demanded many amens prior to the contentious one, Abati explained, the result of which was that the day’s quota of amens had been used up.

“Why?” asked the spokesperson, “would President not say amen to a prayer against corruption?”

He advised preachers, pastors, imams etc, to familiarise themselves with government protocol and to also limit the length of their prayers and sermons.

“It is the same people accusing the President of not saying amen to anti-corruption prayer that would be accusing him of favouritism if he had broken with protocol and said more amens than is allowed by constitution,” Abati said.

cashcpt: When America wants to arrange regime change or total change in the power dynamics of a country they start by reducing or stopping trade with that country it happened in Gadaffi's Libya and Saddam's Iraq. Their State Department then goes on to castigate everything abt the target country in a similar format to d official statements dat were released just last week where Jonathan the Ministers the Nigeria Police EFCC and Legislators were indicted for gross corruption amidst other sins. Nigeria is over you guys can forget abt 2015 the violent and messy disintegration starts in d 2nd half of 2012. There wld be much shedding of blood

blackpanda: All those of u shouting against and cursing the doctors are very very silly. The real person that is orchestrating the destruction of the health sector is the government. But as foolish nigerians yáll are too blind, or simply too dumb to realise that it is actually the govt that has driven away the doctors. But guess what, doctors can never be hungry. and the more chaotic the health sector becomes, they more private jobs for the doctors. The lagos state govt shld swallow its stupid pride and do what its constitutionally mandated to do. Driving away all medical personnel does not help anybody

Nigerian in foreign lands have been behaving inappropriately in their host countries. These actions are being viewed as insult by the host communities.
Nigerians cannot be behaving lawlessly and recklessly outside this country and get away with it. We need to respect hosts' cultures, dispositions and rule of laws even if we have non in Nigeria.
We need to re-orientate Nigerian visiting outside.
