Justcash: All of you that are blaming GEJ for this one are very daft. He is refurbishing the rail system. Is it not the duty of the masses to guard and ensure that these infrastructures are operated efficiently? The people that are to blame for this rot are;
A. The masses that prefer to hang like monkeys on top of the coaches instead of sitting like decent people inside.
B. The inefficiency of the masses that got employed after these trains were brought back to life.
C. The illiterate masses that cannot just be patient on order for the coaches to be operated within its capacity.
D. The preference of the masses for short cuts even if it implies indulging in corrupt practices.
E. The chaotic orientation of the Nigerian masses.
F. The Spineless masses that cannot exercise their civic rights by demanding for orderly conduct through legal means.

Everything is not about the FG. You will just be surprised at the kind of criticism and antagonism that will come from the masses following any plan by the FG to restore order through coercion. Nonsense.

1. Blip you 2000 times for calling Nigerian citizens "masses".
2. Go and ask yourself / research on why government exists or why human societies elect leaders and then answer no. 3
3. Is Nigeria a governed country?

Nigeria unfortunately is a joke of a country run by thieves. Just arrived in Paris this evening on Eurostar and journey time 2hrs 15 mins. Our government sadly does not care if we live or die which is why everything is decaying in Nigeria. Just a year agony retired uncle minding his business jeje in his car was shot dead by stray bullet in Isheri by armed robbers snatching cars. Police asked us for 500,000 K to investigate!!!! What a sick screwed up system.

Fhemmmy:

Let us even assume it was a lie, would the pix lie to as to the state of the "rat cage" labeled Train?
Besides, this cage probably wont be able to move more than 10Km/hr as well as try to remember how the train track in some area are packed with people selling stuff, and i wont be surprised if this cage stalled every few minutes cos it is not meant for human being
and whoes fault is it? Will this pure and utter greed and corruption by the NIGERIANS managing the train stand if the passangers refuse to be treated this way? You just said people sell on rail tracks, don't they know it is wrong? Why do nigerians see government as the author and finisher of their faith? Mahatma ghandi said " you should be the change you want in the world"..apparently, this does'nt apply to nigerians.

If you were able to read btw the line, you would understand what i am saying, however, like someone said - there are few things could have done to make a difference.

Yes, the govt is to blame too. However, what stopped you from insisting that the right thing should be done? Why didn't you try gathering a group of passengers who shared your own view to make your requests bolder? Had u done that, you could have been the person to bring about some level of change in the entire railway system. Well, if that sounds too unbelievable to you, then It explains a lot. I rest my case. (Let's all just go back to blaming govt and wait to be spoon-fed).

Why take a refund when it was clearly stated that the majority of those onboard would go down in offa and by then, the lagos passengers can sit comfortably? Let me share the full story as published by sr. Soon

You are not making sense at all. What made you to feel that if the FG provides fast moving tunnel or cable trains, they will not be used beyond their capacities by the Nigerian masses? That is even more dangerous because it may cause mishaps. My point is that it is the mentality of the Nigerian masses that is actually responsible for this rot. Task force you said? How different will the task force be from the police force? The masses will bribe the members of these task force to allow the rot to go on, instead of demanding diligence. Does the FG also need to raise another task force to monitor the members of this task force? Sigh. These infrastructures create jobs and the FG led by GEJ is not directly responsible for managing them (Functionally). They disburse funds for management, but the masses seat in ignorance and watch the managers steal these funds, while relying comfortably on a deteriorating system. This brews corruptions and sustains the rot.
Human beings by nature are difficult to govern. Even in the developed countries where everything seem to be working, we still have countless cases of offenders ranging from over-speeding, drunk driving, rape, assault, public disturbance and so on. This clearly shows that Nigerians are not different from citizens of other countries.
We have a federal govt whose responsibilities in collaboration with the Legislative are to enact laws and ensure that citizens abide by them by meting out punishments to offenders. What has ur govt done to check the excesses of both the railway staff and commuters? I guess from your point of view, I am the one to enact and enforce the law! Nonsense.
On why govt will not buy state of the art trains, its not because we do not have the funds to, its because its not the priority of the elites (who happens to be in the helm of affairs). Neither GEJ nor David Mark nor Sambo nor any minister or governor board those trains for any reason. If it were about building a government lodge, upgrading an airport, installing security gadgets in govt offices or organizing a banquet, they will definitely purchase standard state of the art facilities. Is so disheartening that people like you see things upside down!
