@galatico Am in support of Kanu, he is right cause the money used to invite Ferdinand should have been used for something esle to better the life of the citizen of Lagos State not on such frivoulous expenses. You guys make me laugh. To use how much to better the life of the citizen of Lagos? Haba. So the expenses on Rio is only what we need in Lagos. You just full of shit. I think at every point in time Fash knows what to do. As far as I am confirmed now, guy is improving sport in Lagos State and if part of improving it is to bring Rio, so be it. |

so foolish that they are so proud to be chelski or manscum fans lol. . . . Don't mind us, we like chasing shadows, oftentimes. Me think Governor Fashola should be more concerned about the welfarism of the masses in Lagos. To be candid, it's really a big waste of fund inviting Rio into Lagos, Nigeria. Maybe he should focus more on poverty alleviation projects. |

My people perish for lack of knowledge: http://www.kickitout.org/news.php/news_id/3785 Kanu & co should do some research before making noise. Ask yourself: Why is Okocha bringing international stars to play his testimonial in Warri? Don't we have enough quality footballers in the 'highly prestigious' Glo Premier League ? |
Re: Kanu Challenge Lagos Govt Over Rio Ferdinand's Visit To Nigeria by Mustay(m): 5:58pm On Jun 25, 2008 |
yemmi take it easy I never go fash house neither have I seen KAnu's heart! Yinka craig has cancer Seriously, you don't understand what heart disease is, cos if you do; u no go yarn like this On an average, it takes up to one year to treat the heart disease in Israel! "As footballers, we know we can make an impact because of our profile. So, for me, it is important to channel the power of our words and actions to encourage positive change. "Although I'm only in Nigeria for a short time, I'm hoping to learn more about the country and come away with a greater understanding of the challenges young Nigerians face." You see the marketing point; he 's still learning about Nigeria and wants to make an impact in few days Why did they rush him in http://www.kickitout.org/news.php/news_id/3785 |

Ferdinand will also spend time at an orphanage in the city and host a fundraising dinner to generate funds to help save the lives of young people suffering from the deadly disease Malaria. NVA Management CEO, Chris Nathaniel, added, "Rio is exceptionally passionate about creating opportunities for young people and wants to try and help those in disadvantaged areas of the world. What about this? |

Re: Kanu Challenge Lagos Govt Over Rio Ferdinand's Visit To Nigeria by SamMilla1(m): 9:08pm On Jun 25, 2008 |
I see nothing wrong in bringing Rio here. Wait a minute, thousands of Nigerians pay every weekend to watch Rio and Manchester United play. Then the government brought him to them and it became a crime. Meanwhile, Kanu should know that he is playing at Portsmouth and not ENYIMBA. He goes to the pulpit to collect awards all the time on another man s soil, and that means nothing to him. Some people had the chance to see Ferdinamd which was good for them. I refuse to see any thing bad in that. I think he should start to address the idea of naming our sports facilities after politicians instead of sports men and women, RUBISH. |
Re: Kanu Challenge Lagos Govt Over Rio Ferdinand's Visit To Nigeria by joeycrack: 10:05pm On Jun 25, 2008 |
I agree with Kanu to an extent, The use of taxpayers fund i.e your money and my money to bring Rio is relatively a waste as the money could be used to further increase the living standard in the state. The case of kanu bringing foreign players for testimonials is different, He can use his own money to bring whoever he likes talkless of the fact that some of the players come relatively free and the events benefit charity. The issue here is the use of public funds which could have been used to benefit the people. Those who say the amount is pale compared to the waste experienced in the govt. sectors, the fact that we have been wasting resources doesnt mean we should continue wasting our resources. IMHO, I believe the use of a nigerian or an african star who is familiar with the dynamics of the environment would have better driven home the point of overcoming adversities rather than a foreigner who self admittedly is still learning about the conuntry. Generally, I think Fashola has done a great Job so far in running the state. |

I don't feel any sense in this act of bringing Rio to Nigeria, just another way to stealing our pride here, does that mean we don't have better players to celebrate in Nigeria order than bringing a foreigner. Now he has been crowned Chief Fiwagboola here in Nigeria. Can we imagine such an insult when someone like JJ Okocha is no where to be found.I bet it soonest Fashola will bring Alex Farguson to Lagos and crown him the state Governor, Stupid things will never end in Nigeria.

It is only in the damned Nigeria; that people will stand boldly to support gross incompetence by their stupid rulers. A country where bad is usually praised as good. Shame on Nigeria!!! |

Propaganda and money making schemes, ferdinard should come to nigeria at his own will as a black role model and philantropist, just like all the white superstars, geldolf, bono and co,in as much as they do it to show us that we are incapable and draw publicities, but they are helping. The plight of every black man should be for the other. |

How has Ferdinand's visit help the hungry kids on the street? I can now see how Fashola spends the public fund that should have been used to help some of the children if not all. I wonder who Yaradua would bring if he were to be a man u fan. |
