Guys I applied for admission to Upei, and at a point I was asked to pay an application processing fee via credit card. But I don't have one so is there any way I can pay besides credit card cos they also talked about sending the application to the registrar's office and I definitely can't do that. please reply ASAP. Thanks

Why not give Mastercard a try...

Also, Form A payment method is the main alternative to credit card payment though in this case, you'll need the school's account number...

You'll get more response from those heading to UPEI based on their experiences @ dis point of application process.

kreamstaff: Hi everybody, please I need honest advice from experienced and helpful people in the house about my wife applying for a Msc in Canada. She already has an Msc from the Uk in business but wants to get another in Financial planning/assessment based on her work experience as a tax consultant in Nigeria, what uni would you recommend and what are the likely requirements, she had a 2.1 degree from a private Nigerian uni.

Also what are our chances of having me and our 1yr old baby accepted as dependents to travel to canada with her, what's the process like and how much in all do u think we should budget for the entire process.

Might I add that our long term plan is to finally immigrate to Canada as professionals in our feilds of industry.

Pls any info related to this as regards finances, best locations, approval possibilities or anythig helful at all would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

Your wife can still apply for a second MSc. I also have a masters from the UK and I have gotten my visa for a second one in Canada starting in January 2014. So no problem with that. To search for a suitable programme visit: www.aucc.ca or simply google the name of the course and include 'canada' in the search.

With regard to visa application. I will suggest that your wife to apply for herself and the kid only for now. You will serve as home tie. The trick is as soon as she gets to canada she will send you invitation to join them. This has been provided by Canada immigration as a standard procedure. If you make the mistake of applying for the whole family at once you could be denied because the visa officer will want to see the source of funding for her while in Canada. You will also send a signal to the visa officer that you are moving to canada permanently and this will lead to denial. We have seen cases like that in this forum.

With regard to how much money you need, you must show that you have tuition fee and living expenses for one year, money for baby care of the child and regular source of funding which your salary account statement or company account statement will show. Canadian immigration requires a student to show 10,000 canadian dollars as living expenses.

After getting admission, the procesa of visa application is explained in detailed in this thread and I advise you to apply online at: www.cic.gc.ca.

I believe other people will advise you more as you start the process. All the best.

Get yourself a nice jacket (Dont be too fashion minded for now oh), a winter boot that could withstand -40 weather and wear an underpant, and the rest is all golfs and socks and get a winter hat, you will be good.
In one word, wrap yourself like a xmas present . . . . cheesy
