I have read with keen interest the contribution of fellow nairalanders to this purpottedly biased report and i discovered majority of the responders didnt read the report in between lines. why is the position of the senate president not reported? why is this kind of report coming some days to Anambra gurbernitorial election? which conference was held to conclude on this? a party made up of several conglomerates will just meet in a sitting room of one chieftain to decide? smh!! do you all think the reason for Okorocha's participation is to run for the VP's position in 2015?

To correct your ignorance, it is posible for the party to choose VP from the SW but not in this way, why is it posible:

1. The strenght of this revolution called party is in these regions
2. The party is yet to gain much recognition in the SE, there is need for a long time orientation and political play in this region.
3. Over 80% of the governors that made up the party comes from the SW and North.
4. You can add your own.............

Hence, SE will surely have the senate presidents position if eventually APC wins 2015 but they have 80% chances of becoming either VP or president in 2019 on the condition that they unanimously vote for APC. it is no magic, it is a struggle, a struggle that started far back as 2007 between the SW and the North. a region that is yet to vote massively for a party to become their governor, is that the region one expects to have a massive support for the VP's position just because one of them is choosing? infact Okorocha himself knows this that the future of SE is in their hands because what devide them is worst than even their agitation and this the fact that they are not united politically. truth is bitter yet it has to be told.

Another fact, Okorocha will not leave APC even after the presidential primaries why because:

1. He will go for his second term has governor, the state APC political structure is too sentitive at present to handover to another person.

2. He knows how shallow oriented his region his as far as the party is concern and this is the reason he has been doing everything in his capacity to secure their support, not until then he wont campaign for such position.

3. If he tries to pick the ticket, he will not win the primaries not until he is able to secure the region with the support of his associates.

The ,odd seem to be in favor of Fayemi of EKiti state if this news is true.Its believable though because candidates have to come from where the party is strongest. Calculations will put Fashola as CJN while Tinubu caucaus will retain the most powerful ,portfolio as part of a norther President which will give him a massive control of the Presidency. In fact Fashola may be elected to the senate and he will become the senate Preident, why not?
Fayemi is more receptive of ideas and can be a party compliance guy the stuff Tinubu will like to maintain his influence. Negotiation will be stiff like APC controlling Justice, Energy, ,Maritime and may be Finance Ministries. SW has always analysed the situation of things before voting, which is devoid of influence of Tinubu. 2011 elections is an indication of this. State level, people in the SW voted for AC and PDP @ the national level. Drawing from performance based assessment.

The SW people are not fools. I have talked to 3 anti-PDP people ( i'm one myself) and we all agreed that Goodluck Jonathan has tried in the face of daunting challenges. That devoid of those challenges, he would have done a lot more things. The only part that shows lack of progress is the fight against corruption.

And that is the most important part. I do not support any side and I will vote any sensible combination. Any government that fails to fight corruption in Nigeria wont achieve anything. This story may not be true after all election is close in Anambra and it may be a ploy to defeat Ngige in November. WE had Obasanjo and now Jonathan, neither of them had benefited ordinary Nigerians from their ethnic groups its just all about sharing political offices to the detriment of ordinary Nigerians.
I don't know what my Igbo folks think about being presdent but Igbo had produced vice presidents and senate Presidents, finace ministers etc yet they could not get the second Niger bridge. I do not see any difference in Jonathan in this wise because majority of Nigerians are not seeing the purported 7% growth in the economy.

Am ain't a political analyst but i know that politics is a game of "interest" (what is in there for me) do you believe that people like IBB, Danjuma, Atiku, Gowon, Abudulsalami', all northern governors, all senators, House of assemble members, serving ministers local government chairmens etc will dump their "personal interest" to support Apc?

Now, if a candidate loses in all 5 SE states he can not ascend the throne. He enters a run-off with his closest contender. You know it's even more difficult and chancy here when you're put through that. Ask Akunyili who passed thru something similar but not exactly same. She eventually lost to Ngige, your pal (my brother).

Going by results of 2011 Buhari won 13 states, If he retains those states and wins 6 SW states thats 19 states already.

Thats already a majority. Add 25% he would get in states like Kwara, Taraba, Kogi, Plateau, Adamawa, Benue, Nasarawa

So its possible APC Buhari loses in the whole SE and still win elections
