@Kitaun You know what i am saying. I am sure you've seen the television interviews of Drogba/Maka/Gallas? They will be asking them about Ogbomosho, they will be replying about Maiduguri. The newspaper's one were always edited to suit the marketability of the papers most especially UK Sun newspaper. |

Re: Chelsea Fans: Identify Yourselves Here (Old) by somze(f): 9:09am On Jun 14, 2007 |
Arsenal? Why? I want ManU or Liverpool. ManU so we can start the race early. Liverpool - just to beat em as usual and shut the kop up. Arsenal are underdogs, they cant even boldly say they are competing for the title, though you can never right them off. |

Too bad, Arsenal escape again. My worry is the teams we will be meeting over African cup of Nations. Prominent among them is the usual Carrager/Drogba duel on 9th february. The African stars will also missed the following; Spurs Birmigham Reading Portsmouth And they are likely to miss more. |

Groom Tal will say yes to Jose TAL BEN HAIM flew into London last night hoping to tie up a move to Chelsea before tying the knot. Bolton’s Israeli defender is close to agreeing a free transfer worth £3million a year with the Blues. Ben Haim, 25, will then jet straight back to the Holy Land with a bumper wedding present ahead of his marriage this weekend to girlfriend Michal Hemo. 50k darts dream team Chelsea want to complete things in the next 24 hours as Newcastle are closing in. New Toon manager Sam Allardyce was Ben Haim’s boss at Bolton and is keen to take the tough tackling centre-half to St James’. The player is available for nothing as his Reebok contract expires at the end of this month. Stamford Bridge chief Jose Mourinho has admitted he is in desperate need of defensive reinforcements after losing the Premiership title to Manchester United last season. Mourinho insists he will not go crazy in the transfer market this summer and Ben Haim fits into the Blues’ new wage structure without costing anything. The Chelsea chief has shrugged off United’s £50million dip into the transfer market — and claims all the pressure will now be on Alex Ferguson. Mourinho has had to stand by and watch as Fergie snapped up superstars Owen Hargreaves, Nani and Anderson in recent weeks. In contrast the normally spendthrift Portuguese has been forced to settle for free transfers Steve Sidwell and Claudio Pizarro after owner Roman Abramovich ordered a spending freeze. But Mourinho said: “I’m not worried about United. They can only play 11 players and if they played them all, Ryan Giggs would be out of the team — and that would make me very happy. “When Chelsea were spending everybody said we were buying the title and that we were obliged to win every week. “Now I’m waiting to see if those people put us in the last place of contenders to win the Premiership. “They have to put United first, Liverpool second — they haven’t spent much yet but they will — and then Arsenal, Tottenham, Aston Villa and Newcastle.” LINK |

I've seen the story. Even Fat Sam has admitted defeat. See what he said: - Newcastle boss Sam Allardyce has admitted defeat in his efforts to sign Bolton defender Tal Ben Haim, claiming he will sign for Chelsea. The 25-year-old, who is out of contract at Bolton, seems destined to join the FA Cup winners, who made a bid for him during the January transfer window. Allardyce told Newcastle's official website: "It's looking like Tal will be going to Chelsea, unfortunately. "We have had a long, hard go, but I think the lure of the (former) champions has perhaps just pipped me at the post." http://www.teamtalk.com/football/story/0,16368,1770_2359688,00.html |

The interesting news now is that Eto'o said he wants to come to the premiership and Chelsea is bidding for him along with Arsenal and Yankeepool. Barcelona striker Samuel Eto'o is ready to resist an offer from AC Milan to make his dream move to the Premiership this summer. El Mundo Deportivo says Eto'o knows Barca want to cash in on him at the end of this season - and that they have been actively courting interest from Milan. But the Cameroon ace is determined that the final decision will be his, with the striker's agent, Josep Maria Mesalles, having concrete contract offers on the table from Liverpool, Chelsea and Arsenal. http://www.tribalfootball.com/article.php?id=43733 |

Some Interesting facts about our new Away Jersey from the times: Chelsea have yet to make a glamorous purchase in the transfer window but, thanks to the new away strip that the London side boldly unveiled on its website today, they will cut a new appearance on their travels next season. The electric-yellow jersey, shown above, was chosen because it adheres to the club's "great tradition of wearing yellow", though it will also presumably also please Jose Mourinho by making it easier for officials to follow the movement his players. Its qualities do not end there, either. According to the online blurb, the new shirt is the product of the latest technologies in garment manufacture. Incredibly, for example, it "mimics the natural movements that occur during 90 minutes", so the No 11 version will presumably slump to the floor at the slightest physical contact. Plus, its designers employed infrared cameras to identify the body's "sweat zones", suspicious as they doubtless were of the oldfashioned evidence of the sweatpatch. And, it is made with ClimaCool, the groundbreaking cooling fabric that was used, well, in last year's white away strip. http://www.timesonline.co.uk/tol/sport/football/premiership/chelsea/article1932853.ece |
