Manchester United keeper Edwin Van Der Sar has been ruled out of Tuesday's Champions League clash with Roma at Old Trafford with a toe injury. The Dutchman suffered the setback during the first half of United's 1-0 win over Birmingham at St Andrews which lifted them back into second place in the Barclays Premier League. Van Der Sar continued between the posts until half-time, but was then replaced for the second 45 minutes by Tomasz Kuszczak. His injury took the shine off a fortuitous single-goal victory courtesy of Cristiano Ronaldo's 51st-minute strike. United boss Sir Alex Ferguson said: "Van Der Sar has damaged his toe. To what extent, we are not sure. We will send him for a scan but he will definitely be out on Tuesday. "It is a worry to lose a man of his experience, but Tomasz is very able and we are pleased we've got someone as good as him." Re: Manchester United Fan thread: Forever Reds by Jackal(m): 1:50am On Sep 30, 2007 |
Tomasz should fill in for Van Der Sar on tuesday. United's defence is very solid and i think the Vidic/Rio combination is the best in the league as we speak. Man United's greatest problem is Ryan Giggs and inconsistent Wes Brown. The HOLY TRINITY of Rooney, Ronaldo and Tevez is yet to hit full gear but it should do soon. Carlos Tevez aka APACHE is one of the best signings Ferguson has notched since Van Nistelrooy. He looks so sharp and his reverse pass to SCHOLESY today was AUDACIOUS. Paul got there but was hacked down and self-servicer STEVE BENNETT refused to give a penalty. Anywayz . . . . . .United is GRINDING out results and keeping clean sheets. Someone is bound to suffer this goal drought sooner than later. I hope its the GOONERS when we square dance at the Emirates. How sweet would that be? Rooney + Ronaldo + Tevez . . . . . .WHERE YA GUNS @? |
Re: Manchester United Fan thread: Forever Reds by justkunmi(m): 2:00am On Sep 30, 2007 |
Jackal. Nice win but wats up with this 1-0 wins? Its beginning to get boring! We coulda been 3 goals up at half time but we just fired blanks! Giggs was our weakest link in yesterday's match. He didn't kick a ball right. He was completely not in the game. I think he is gradually wearing out, I really really hope we start gettin 'em goals! We need GOALSSS!!! |
Re: Manchester United Fan thread: Forever Reds by 9ja4eva: 1:04pm On Sep 30, 2007 |
I wonder why Nani was not on the bench Not a bad match. At least its 3 points. Okay na bring Roma on |
Re: Manchester United Fan thread: Forever Reds by Jackal(m): 3:30pm On Sep 30, 2007 |
@ 9ja4eva, NANI was on the bench! Blame Ferguson for the lack-lustre performance. Trying to make Giggsy break the United's appearance record. He should know Giggs had no business in the starting XI yesterday. Tevez/Nani could have played in his position. Ryan did not complete a successful pass for over 70 minutes . . . . . He needs to rediscover his form or retire. I cant wait for JS Park and Gary Neville to get back. United is still not in the full throttle yet. The HOLY TRINITY is starting to gel but GIGGSY is clogging the wheels of success. I just hope he gets crocked for 3-5 weeks to allow the newbies have feel of the English game. NANI should be used more often . . . He has got the potentials. |
Re: Manchester United Fan thread: Forever Reds by Iman3(m): 3:34pm On Sep 30, 2007 |
Giggs looked disinterested. He is useless on the flanks and like Nedved with Juve, should be moved to a central role |
Re: Manchester United Fan thread: Forever Reds by Jackal(m): 3:42pm On Sep 30, 2007 |
@ I-man, Dont let me SHOOT you. Do u believe in your heart of heartz that GIGGSY should make United's starting XI? Why can't he start from the bench? He is experienced and can read the game from the bench and make his impact when brought ON. That was what made SOLSKJAER a LEGEND at Man Utd. . . .GIGGS would be a better player coming from the bench than frustrating TEVEZ. United hsould have scored about 3-4 goals yesterday if GIGGS was half what he was LAST SEASON. I am so PISSED with the pillock. |
Re: Manchester United Fan thread: Forever Reds by Iman3(m): 3:47pm On Sep 30, 2007 |
If Giggs shouldn't play, who should play in his place?Nani or Anderson? From what I have seen of those two, they are not ready yet to be starting.Alternatively,Hargeaveas and Carrick can both start but that will leave us short of creativity |
Re: Manchester United Fan thread: Forever Reds by Jackal(m): 3:57pm On Sep 30, 2007 |
@ I-man, Apache/NANI can play in that role while ROONEY and SAHA can lead the attack. Did u see the match last night? All the 1-2 balls TEVEZ tried with GIGGS did not go through with GIGGS just playing like a gay. He really clogged United's wheels it was so frustrating . . . .I was screaming me BRAINS out. Ferguson should do some serious soul-searching . . . . GIGGS seems to have lost his mojo . . . . . He gave the ball away UNFORCED over 40 times yesterday . . . . I need to go and check OPTA for his stats . . .He was appaling!!!!! |
Re: Manchester United Fan thread: Forever Reds by justkunmi(m): 5:01pm On Sep 30, 2007 |
Jackal I totally agree wit everythin you said plus more! Giggs was a complete retard yesterday. He was playin as if he was a Birmingham player. Giving the ball away whenever he has possession. The most annoying was the beautiful ball Evra gave him. All he needed to do was either pass to Rooney or shoot himself but the cow ran at the defence and lost the ball. I was so frustrated! He should be benched for the next 4 games for that shameful performance. Thank God we had the points! |
Re: Manchester United Fan thread: Forever Reds by 9ja4eva: 5:11pm On Sep 30, 2007 |
Jackal: I still cant figure out why NANI didnt play because Giggs was below par.Fergie needs to give the young and burning ones playing time.Giggs can come out as a sub in games. More of NANI please |

@ ritchboi, Please stop taking SHROOMZ. What the Bleep did u write there? I cannot make any sense out of what u wrote there and maybe u should go and re-evaluate your psycho-analysis. Obsession with Arsenal? I don't get obsessed with FAILURE. Ma love is with Man United . . . .They have done better than any team in England. United has won more titles . . . TREBLE . . . UEFA champions league . . .What has the ARSE+ANAL won? You need to get your head examined by a BRAIN SURGEON. Nigga . . . You sound like a HUMAN-MUTT! |

ritchboi: Hey Asshole, Why dont u pick out the log in ur eyes while u r trying to pinch the speck in me eyes. Look at the disjointed/incoherent sentences u spewed . . . . A 5 year-old child would write better than that. It seems u are suffering from DYSLEXIA which makes words difficult for u to read/write . . . . . I also think u are suffering from a MID-LIFE CRISIS . . . . U need more than a SHRINK. Me ELF MIND thinks u need a spiritual bath @ Limpopo river in Africa. Lets face it . . . .YOU ARE A Arrow!!!!!!!!!!!! |
Re: Manchester United Fan thread: Forever Reds by ritchboi: 8:09pm On Sep 30, 2007 |
mid-life crisis?i,unlike u,am not 50! Limpopo river,lmao |
Re: Manchester United Fan thread: Forever Reds by Jackal(m): 8:15pm On Sep 30, 2007 |
@ ritchboi, Stop cracking me up. The average life-span of a man is 65. So mid-life crisis is around the neighbourhood of 30 . |
Re: Manchester United Fan thread: Forever Reds by Jackal(m): 8:22pm On Sep 30, 2007 |
@ A-40, Giggs was the worst player that played in the Premiership this weekend. Only God knows why he still starts in Man Utd matches . . . . He would be better off playing in the reserve games for now. How i wish Giuseppe Rossi was still here . . . . . . . The young lad is now a regular at Villareal and banging goals. |
Re: Manchester United Fan thread: Forever Reds by ritchboi: 8:28pm On Sep 30, 2007 |

Re: Manchester United Fan thread: Forever Reds by medube(m): 9:02pm On Sep 30, 2007 |
Question: Following the statistics for Arsenal's first 7 games in the last 3 seasons; 2004-2005 Unbeaten in 7 and ended up second 2005-2006 Unbeaten in 5 and lost 2 ended up fourth 2006-2007 Unbeaten in 6 and lost 1 ended up fourth What makes you guys so happy and feel this year is any different? Afterall, the stats show your world begins to crumble as the league goes further. This is when you guys should be praying and not celebrating You can come up with any defense asking me, what has Chelsea done compared to their last 3 seasons? Agreed, I have accepted the fact that the season is not starting good and may not end up good for us, but have you accepted the reality that you might just make it a treble and end up fourth again? |
Re: Manchester United Fan thread: Forever Reds by Jackal(m): 9:09pm On Sep 30, 2007 |
Thank You. You don't need to tell us how to manage our own LEGEND. Giggsy has paid his dues in the Premiership . . . . .9 league titles is no small achievement. Add Wenger's Premiership titles to Mourinho's and its just over half of what Giggsy has won. The faithful United fans say . . . . .IN GIGGS WE TRUST. Have u forgotten how GIGGS sliced through 5 ARSENAL defenders in 1999? 15 million people voted it was the BEST GOAL in the history of ENGLISH FOOTBALL. What chu think? @ medube, For the 1st time this millennium, i couldnt have agreed more wiv your comments. ARSENAL needs prayers . . . . . . Mind u, 2004-05 season was even better than this . . . . Henry/Reyes scored 9 goals each in their 1st 9 games. On MATCHDAY 10, They met Man Utd and erm, erm, erm they lost 2-0 and the UNBEATEN run came to an ABRUPT end! |
Re: Manchester United Fan thread: Forever Reds by medube(m): 9:20pm On Sep 30, 2007 |
@Jackal thank you. I was just wondering why all the erections this season? It's probably because Chelsea and Manchester United are having a bad run, they believe this year might be different . They tend to forget there is still 30 games or 31 in their case and this is where "Things Fall Apart" |
Re: Manchester United Fan thread: Forever Reds by Jackal(m): 9:28pm On Sep 30, 2007 |
@ medube, Things would FALL APART when Arsenal loses their first game. When was the last time Arsenal bounced back to winning ways after a league loss? U have to go back to 1922 . . . . .not UNDER ARSENE WENGER. One law GOVERNS Arsenal. They have a very HIGH RELUCTANCE TO LOSE WHEN WINNING . . and a very HIGH RELUCTANCE TO WIN WHEN LOSING. The only way ARSENAL can win this league is to do another UNBEATEN RUN which is highly IMPOSSIBLE. Anything apart from that . . . . . .THEY SHOULD FORGET IT. |
Re: Manchester United Fan thread: Forever Reds by ritchboi: 9:40pm On Sep 30, 2007 |
medube u seem a lil confused, 05 06,arsenal werent 'unbeaten' in 5,we lost 2 boro. 06 07,we werent 'unbeaten in 6',we lost 2 man city in our second game and also made our worst eva start unda aw,i duno wat ur talkin about. Jackal,i dont rate medube highly but i expected more from u,dont make me loose faith. b t w,ur obsesion is growin by d second, get off arsenalz dyk,u neva hear me unecesarily badmouth man u. |
Re: Manchester United Fan thread: Forever Reds by ochocinco1(m): 9:44pm On Sep 30, 2007 |
Jackal your 'incisive' analysis before the West Ham game had Arsenal losing. Why should anyone keep faith in any of your predictions now seeing as they are motivated by petty hate |
Re: Manchester United Fan thread: Forever Reds by medube(m): 9:51pm On Sep 30, 2007 |
@ritchboi are you balanced at all or know how to read? I am referring to first 7 matches In 2005-2006 Arsenal won 5 matches and lost 2 (Chelsea 1 - 0 Arsenal and Boro 2 - Arsenal 1) And in 2006-2007 Arsenal were unbeaten in 6 (Won 4, Draw 2 and Loss 1 (Man City)) So what are you saying was wrong with the question? Are you contesting or acepting it because we are basically saying the same thing? |
Re: Manchester United Fan thread: Forever Reds by Jackal(m): 9:53pm On Sep 30, 2007 |
@ Ritchy-rich Unfortunately, this discussion is not between u and me. Its between me and all those BLUE-BALLED GAYNNERS who have been nursing ERECTIONS since the start of the PREM. Maybe u as a fan is taking it ONE AT A TIME but some plonkers in ur camp are already saying the TITLE is heading to the Emirates. Do u really think SAF will fold his hands and let Wenger bend his arm and snatch the title? For Bleep's sake . . . . U've got another think coming cos that wont happen. I expect Chelsea to mount a serious challenge as well and Liverpool is not too far. For the umpteenth time, i dont have any obsession for the GAYNNERS. The last time i checked. u guys are just 2 points ahead . . . U keep cheating, Ljunberg scored a valid goal but the ref helped y'all out. That LUCK would soon run out and i cant wait for Man Utd to pounce on that opportunity. @ ocho cinco, This aint abt Arsenal. Maybe u should flip back the pages and read ma predictions after Man Utd lost to Man City. I said United revival would start with Tottenham and the revival is still kicking . . . . .Am i JACKSTRADAMUS? Read between the lines . . . . . .ARSENAL will fall when WINTER kicks in plus some of em are going to AFRICA for 6 weeks!!!!!!!!!!!! Who is Man Utd sending to Africa? Paul Scholes? Wayne Rooney? . . . . . .awwwwww, maybe Carlos Tevez!!!!! |
Re: Manchester United Fan thread: Forever Reds by medube(m): 9:57pm On Sep 30, 2007 |
Jackal: This is what I have been telling a lot. Man U's advantage will come up in January because out of the top 4, they have no African footballer who will go for CAN 2008 in Ghana. |
Re: Manchester United Fan thread: Forever Reds by ritchboi: 10:09pm On Sep 30, 2007 |
Medube do u no d meanin of 'unbeaten' at all?Go bak n read wat u wrote n c wat i'm talkin about. How can a team b 'unbeaten' in 5 games wen they lost 2 of those games? Jackal imo man u r stil d favrites, folowed by arsenal,n d bookies agree wid me.dis arsenal team stil hav sumn 2 proove, unlike man u,but b4 u cum al ova urself hope u no dat kud easily work 2 our advantage. |

ritchboi: If your phone screen wasn't too small to read, I would have blamed you, but I think it is the cause of most of your disabilities on the forum. Please tell me what is the meaning of unbeaten? And if you put your your stupidity aside for 1 minute and read, you will notice i didn't say 'went unbeaten'? |
