May 2005 - May 2006 is 1 year and 1 season.
May 2005 - May 2010 is 5 years and 5 seasons.

This is the 5th season. By the time another season kicks off in August 2010, it will be the 6th season.

Senderos' absence is quite worrying cos I'm not aware of any injury. It might just be an ommision or we can come to the conclusion that he is no more in Arsene's plans and will be flogged off soon.
