Umu nna

If you have heard the expression: "Ihe Onitsha gwara Obosi", please kindly explain the story behind it. Someone asked me what it means and I kinda scratched my head
Re: Igbos come show your proverbs skills by echelon(m): 4:31pm On Jun 12, 2008
It's more like: Adi ama ama Onicha gwara Obosi!

I learnt the two towns had land disputes in the past and even subtly now. The expression emanated from these land tussles. It's a kind of forewarning statement. English equivalent is: To be forewarned is to be forearmed.

So if you tell someone: Biko webara m ite m n'ulo adi ama ama Onicha gwara Obosi, you are asking the person to send your pot inside the house to avoid anything happening to it (like to prevent it from being stolen).

hope this is helpful
