Hope for patentees, as
Comandclem resumes
talks with Mobil
These are times of high
expectations for patentees as
the stalled mediation talks
between Comandclem Nigeria
Limited and Mobil Oil Nigeria has
resumed. This was aftermath of
the strains caused by the political
campaigns and elections which
demanded for the personal
attention of key players involved
in the mediation process.
Among those involved in the
talks (names with-held) are
prominent Nigerians, a former
number one citizen, respected
and highly placed traditional
rulers, captains of industries and
top government functionaries,
Mobil officials and the inventor
himself, King Uwemedimoh
among others.
Only last week, the inventor King
(Prof.) Uwemedimoh in company
of the negotiators fashioned
their presentation. Mobil,
according to close sources to the
meeting, also made
presentations and even replied
to correspondences from
Comandclem and the mediators.
The key players in the
negotiation and mediation
process to facilitate the payment
of the royalty to the inventor,
king (Prof.) Clement
Uwemedimoh and the patent
holders by Mobil Oil were deeply
involved in the political
campaigns which culminated in
the just concluded general
election. Their involvement in the
campaign had stalled the talks
but has hopefully resumed after
the elections and holiday.
It would be recalled that
Comandclem had filed an ex
parte motion at a Federal High
Court in Lagos seeking the
enforcement of court orders,
which had earlier granted CCNL
and King Uwemedimoh the sole
patent right of the anti-corrosive
special paint. However,
according to Barrister A. Ahmed,
legal adviser to CCNL, both
parties had at the last hearing
opted for mediation in place of
litigation.
Ahmed had explained that,
'mediation is a much shorter
route to resolving issues. In
mediation, we look at
documents, verify them and
settle for discussions that would
lead to payment; it takes a much
shorter time frame. But in
litigation, the process can last
such a long time that we would
be worn out by the time the
judgment is secured. We are
talking with Mobil and optimistic
that the company would obey
the various court orders.'
Meanwhile sources close to
Commandclem hinted that
though registration of patentees
continues so as to accommodate
more stakeholders, but 'as the
discussions over the payment of
the royalty draws to a close, we
may close the exercise sooner
than expected. Because, as soon
as we sure of payment, we close
the books and start preparing
for the payment. Already, we
have finished the compilation of
the names of all registered
patentees and we are presently
working out their entitlements,'
said Deacon Akpan J. Akpan, the

Criminal offence like stealling of interllectual property of an indegenious company by a foriegn company like Mobil Producing Nigeria Unlimited must not be overlooked in any way by appropriate government agencies in Nigeria. In line with section 2 of the Criminal Code , CAP. 77 , Laws Of The Federation (NIGERIA) 1990 , "an offence" is an act which renders the person doing the act liable to punishment under this code , or under any Act , or Law. Who so ever infringed on the interllectual property of CCNL must not go unpunished in this country.
In Nigerian Law , precisely section 383
of the Criminal Code , CAP. 77 , Laws Of The Federation (NIGERIA) 1990 , Stealing is defined as " A person who fraudulently takes anything capable of being stolen , or fraudulently converts to his own use or the use of any other person anything capable of being stolen , is said to steal that thing " . I do't know the reasons why people like Mr Harry Hawkins , Mr Gwalker and Mr Tom Lafferty should not be in police net before now for thetf of interllectual property of CCNL in 1980 .
Mr Harry Hawkins , Mr Gwalker and Mr Tom Lafferty (whites) sent chemical content/formulars of anti-corrossive special paint to a ghost parent company in Holland for mass production and marketing to other oil companies in the world without due approval of the Inventor of such paint. No black-man can do this in America without being punished.
In this country about two years ago , when Bode George mismanaged public fund and violated Nigerian Laws , he was sent to kirikiri.

Am glad that the negotiations and mediation processes have continued, may God see us through in little time. Mr. Omokemesi, as you stated on this forum that the inventor himself has stated that CCNL is no longer at war with MPNU. And you yourself have advised us that we should tread softly and be cautious on the kind of comments we post concerning MPNU. But recently I have observed that LNP has been publishing articles about MPNU which are quite on the contrary. These are as follows.
1. Negative influence of MPNU on leadership values.
2. Poor public perception of MPNU.
3. The many sins of MPNU in Nigeria.
4. MPNU holds AGM amids poor public perception.
So Sir, why these publications now, when negotiation processes are on top gear?
Is it that CCNL has no confidence on the negotiation process?
Or is it to increase public awareness about the atrocities of MPNU?
Or lastly, is it to increase pressure on MPNU to honor their earlier promises to pay the royalty?

I want to advice those registered patentees' that are still av the negative thought about the CCNL. "U better wake up, stop dreaming and faced the realities of the life". Scam or No scam U're already fall into victim, so U can't collect Ur registration fee back. So U bettes stop the negative thought and Pray for Ur self, Pray for CCNL and plan how to spend ur entittlement. And for those who is calling for the closure of the registration, U're showing the selfishness in U. Why not let the others' benefited from it?. After all the owner of the royalties does'nt complained, so what's Ur own. To my own stuff I even pray that the registration should continue after the payment to librate more peoples' of my great country ( NIGERIA ). GOD BLESS CCNL. GOD BLESS D KING. CCNL made it very clear that if MPN did not pay, any one who registered loses his money. If MPN did not pay in the final analysis, CCNL owes no one any apologies or refund! They made that clear enough before you registered. So the best you can do is to plead with the Almighty God to touch all concerned and make it possible for MPN to pay. When they do, CCNL will pay all patentee. But for you to insinuate that CCNL is owing you when MPN has not paid CCNL is like the proverbial fowl who left the person that killed it and bent its neck for the cooking port. Let us not lose hope. Courage Comrades, courage!

You are not the only prince registered in CCNL. I too am a prince and i registered as a patentee since 2008. It is totally UNFAIR on your own part to call a fellow patentee selfish when he or she is expressing sincere feelings and thoughts. I think you are the one who is been unreasonable by the statements you just made above "scam or no scam U're already fall into victim, so U can't collect your registration fee back" so because patentees cannot collect their reg fees back, you had the effrontery to utter such statement instead of encouragement and support.

By the way, before we registered did CCNL not promise to close registration as soon as judgement is given in their favour?
Now, judgement has been given in their favour, and they have failed to comply with their own part of the agreement before the registration, why?
Let me tell you, patentees even have the right to sue CCNL or whatever it is called because they too have bridged the agreement that was signed before registration. We are not fools, we already know that the registration fee is non-refundable and we are hoping on God to make Mobil pay us our money but dont come here and post stupid comments about patentees who are simply voicing their opinion. You are not even the King or anything in CCNL, i am sure that the King would not address his patentees as being SELFISH.

The patentee who opined that registration should have ended did not say that out of SELFISHNESS but because he or she knows that as soon as registration is closed, patentees would have hope that their money is on the way! CCNL can reopen registration even for the whole world, after paying patentees. Who cares
