folaski: First of all, science (unlike religion) is not fixed. It's constantly advancing and changing. What science proved a decade ago can be debunked today by the same scientists (there is no pride or shame in it). We are all learning. At some point, everyone believed the earth was flat until Galileo proved otherwise (and he was almost killed by the Church for that). All the planets we know about in the galaxy were discovered by scientists and it was the same scientists that debunked Pluto as being a planet. Like i said, science is not fixed, it's always advancing with the administration of more concrete facts. That being said. . . (1)Your bible describes the earth as being flat and four-cornered. With the education you've received and your personal observation, do you honestly believe that description from your "all knowing word of god"? (2)You find it "hilarious" that scientists say man evolved from apes BUT you readily accept that you were created from dirt! ! ! You discredit the big b@ng theory as being false but you are gullible enough to believe an imaginary god (that you have never seen or heard from) created earth in 7 days all because you read it in a book that was used to brainwash your forefathers during the slave trading days. If the slave merchants hadn't come, you would still believe Orunmila,Eledumare,Sango,Yemoja and Amadioha were the supreme gods. If the Islamic jihadists had conquered your forefathers, you would be hear screaming "There is no god except Allah and his last prophet Mohammed". If you were born in China, you would definitely be a Buddhist. If you were born in Jerusalem, you would be practicing Judaism. The only reason you are a christian today is because of the indoctrination you received since childhood. (3)Science has provided numerous preventions and cures for diseases and handicaps. What has the bible done except "miracles" that can't be proven or verified? How many cures for malaria, typhoid, sickle cell and HIV are in your bible? All that is there is "have faith in god"! If you are dying of cancer, would you sit at home with faith in prayers or rush to the hospital for help? Everything all around you is the product of science (your phones, computers, televisions, medication, even the food you eat has been genetically influenced by fertilizers and other enhancers). Name one "product" of religion (or Christianity to be specific) if you can! ! ! (4)You ended your post by saying "ONLY A FOOL SAYS THERE IS NO GOD" and yet, that same bible condemns you to eternal damnation for making such utterances. Who is the fool now? |
Re: The Descendant Of Apes by harakiri(m): 2:00pm On Oct 12, 2011 |
folaski: In reply to your questions. . . (1)First of all, i am NOT an evolutionist but the scientific theory on evolution makes a lot more sense to me than some nomadic goat herder book of myths called the bible that claims mankind was created by an imaginary god from dirt! It never fails to baffle me how religious folks like you resent the idea of being evolved from apes but you have no issues with being associated with dirt! It's simply astounding! You are right in quoting the cause and effect mantra. You are wrong if you can't provide concrete evidence that the biblical god you believe in is truly the creator of mankind. Prove it and see if all the Atheists on nairaland won't go back to being religious! ! ! (2)Read up on the theory on evolution for that. There are huge volumes of material in books, google and youtube. (3)Spirit? What spirit? Can you prove the existence of a spirit? Have you seen one? People die just like every other living thing dies either through old age, disease or unforeseen circumstances e.g accidents. There is no "mystery" about it. You were born one day and you will die one day. Furthermore, it's mankind's curiosity about what happens after death that has given religion a stronghold on the minds of people. Religion is the creation of mankind to explain mysteries to his fellow man. Christianity is one of such many creations. Simple as that. Nuff said! ! ! |

what can you make of or how can you debunk the following experience ? freecocoa (f) Posts: 2262 Re: Share Your Evidence Based Juju Experiences Here « #11 on: October 08, 2011, 10:34 AM » When I was in SS3 my family traveled to my hometown for xmas celebrations, when we got back to Abuja my mum started complaining that pins were pricking her inside her body,we all were like how possible is that, but it became unbearable as she couldn't sleep most night due to pains, she was later taken to a prayer house and with my eyes I saw pins being removed from almost every part of her body(plenty pins o,even some were like small nails)my mum was crying like a baby, and my dad do tell us things that happened to him but this is the closest I've gotten to juju experience,I think its real.[/color] |
Re: The Descendant Of Apes by harakiri(m): 10:01pm On Oct 12, 2011 |
I have heard more graphical stories. Isn't it funny that she ends the tale with "I think it's real"? Somebody claims she was there LIVE when pins came out of her mother's body and she still says "she thinks it's real"? Do i need say more? One of the main reasons Nigeria can NEVER progress is because people don't take responsibility for their actions. They put all their faith on imaginary supernatural beings. Everybody believes they are "destined" to be rich and if things are not working out for them, then there must being one "village witch" that is "spoiling their destiny". Nobody wants to accept the fact that good and bad things happen as a normal part of life. If they lose a baby through miscarriage, NA WITCH CAUSE AM! If they lose a contract, NA ENEMIES PUT EYE! If they have an accident due to over speeding, drunkenness, bad roads and bad tires, NA BLOOD SUCKING DEMON DO AM! Nobody takes responsibility rather they blame everything on "unseen forces". No wonder church business and spiritual houses are springing up everywhere at an alarming rate. The religious market is bombing and their are gullible cows everywhere begging to be milked off their money. Other progressive countries got to where they are today NOT because of their religious beliefs but because they people rose up to demand what they really want from their leaders. Look at what happened in Egypt a while back. Both Christians and Moslems joined hands together in the struggle. Here in Nigeria, all the people know how to do is pray harder and harder like lost demented forsaken souls! And they think that will change anything. Pathetic! ! ! NB : In between, this is off topic. If you want to discuss juju experiences, go to the thread started by the OP (mazaje) |
Re: The Descendant Of Apes by folaski: 2:25pm On Oct 13, 2011 |
@ harakiri: to deny the existence of God and the spirit world is like denying your very own existence. You are, like every other human, made up of a spirit that keeps you alife, a soul where your thoughts are formed, and a body that houses them. Seperate them and man ceases to live. |

Re: The Descendant Of Apes by folaski: 8:12pm On Oct 21, 2011 |
@harakiri: let me start by saying that Godless science reads nature only as harakiri did hebrew, rightly syllabling the sentences, but utterly ignorant of the meaning. 2ndly, the bible which you believe to be a bedtime story has a habit of outliving the sceptics and their criticisms, and as real knowledge advances, the list of biblical "mistakes" becomes ever smaller instead of bigger. The bible gives man a noble, upright, perfect beginning=evolution traces man's ancestry back to a microbe in the primeval mud which appeared spontaneously. Prof. Fleischman, the noted zoologist of Erlangen,Bavaria, though formerly believing the evolution theory, later rejected it as unscientific. He said, "the Darwinian theory has not a single fact to confirm it in the realm of science. It is not the result of scientific research, but purely the product of imagination" Prof. G. W. Wright, geologist of Ohio, decleared that "the doctrine of evolution is one-tenth bad science and nine-tenths bad philosophy" even Charles Darwing, the greatest apostle of evolution admitted that "a recurrent tragedy of science is the killing of some beautiful theory by an ugly fàct.(Noah's flood:fact & fiction? Page 22). The pity is that the 'ugly fact" not the "beautiful theory", is usually the thing to suffer. Pls wake up. |

@harakiri: Egypt is a deeply religious nation and so is the U.S.A and the U.K. these last two are among the most developed nations in the world. American have "in God we trust" as their national slogan while the U.K. has a purely christian background. The farther they are now moving away from God the deeper they plunge into terrible decadence. Think again pls. |
Re: The Descendant Of Apes by Jenwitemi(m): 9:16pm On Oct 22, 2011 |
UK is not a "deeply" religious nation, folaski. And only a certain region of the US, the socalled "bible belt", could be referred to as deeply religious. Quit spreading untruths in the name of Jaysus, woman. folaski: |
Re: The Descendant Of Apes by folaski: 7:40am On Oct 23, 2011 |
@jenwitemi: the truth is a constant that does not change. You need to read my post carefuly to understand my point. When you do,apply the same gentle approach to your search about Christianity and what you will get will get yojt thinking seriously. Documented history has it that England was a religious nation and infact the common law emanated from biblical principles. Infact the quotation of bible pasages was the norm in the court untill recent times. Also note that till date as a matter of tradition the Archbishop of Cantabury is a permanent member of the highest law making body. As for the USA, what does it mean to say "in God we trust" go back and read a little about history, read my post again before you make further comment. God loves you. |
Re: The Descendant Of Apes by harakiri(m): 9:23am On Oct 23, 2011 |
@Folaski Eygpt is made up different religious groups which including coptic christians and moslems. Can you honestly say they are all worshiping the same god? US and UK are not as religious as you think. According to your statement, the progress of these nations is because of their faith in a god and their problems arise when they lose faith. What would say about some european nations that are predominantly non-religious,equally developed, better standard of living than the US/UK and yet, they don't believe in any god? How about Nigeria that is officially the most religious country in the world? Why are we not the most developed country in the world inspite of all the "godliness" in the country? Do you see how warped your reasoning is? The US has "In god we trust" as their slogan and they chant this when sending their military out to other countries to meddle in the affairs of others. Almost 2million people dead because of their greed for oil in the middle east. They (and other nations) backed and financed the so called "freedom fighters" who are slaughtering Nigerians like rams on a daily basis (even as I type this) while the US "trusts in god" and looks the other way. What do you have to say about that? Huh? "In god we trust" indeed! ! ! |
Re: The Descendant Of Apes by folaski: 4:20pm On Oct 25, 2011 |
@harakiri: whatever you think about God cannot diminish His love for you. Go and study the pre 1948 history of Israel, then the media comments on the Israeli/Arab's 6 days war then you will know that there is a God who gives strength to the weak tha puts their trust in Him. He is equally interested in other nations and peoples that puts their trust in Him. Try Him for yourself and i bet it that you won't regret it. |

folaski: Your posts keep getting more and more ridiculous. "god" loves me? Really? I guess he loves me so much that he allows Islamic extremists (Boko Haram) to waste innocent lives and so long as i'm still alive, that's because he "loves me" more than others. Wonderful! Where was his "love" when people lost their lives in the Haiti earthquake? Where was his love when the US dropped a nuclear bomb on Hiroshima? Where was his love when the Christian crusaders killed millions in the name of the lord all because they wanted to spread their religion all over the place? Where is his love when there are almost 2 million people dead in the middle east all because of the US greed for oil? Where is his love when Nigerian police men waste the lives of innocent civilians on a daily basis? Where is his love when he instructed the Israelites to commit genocide and ethnic cleansing on people who didn't worship him? Where is his love when millions of African children are dying of starvation? What "love" are you talking about? I don't even know why i'm responding to your posts. They are totally dense, stoopid and reetarded. They make absolutely no sense at all. |

Pls people of the world, our brains are too technically intricate to have evolved by chance. Look at nature; carefully balance & purposely positioned. I can continue.! There is therefore a Master designer who conceived and created every thing uniquely for His own pleasure. GOD LOVES YOU. |

Re: The Descendant Of Apes by folaski: 10:12am On Nov 06, 2011 |
@k17: God is the cause. He is the uncreated creator whose power is infinite and whose knowledge is without limit. Man can never be able to fantom Him. He is the uncaused causer and His realm is totally different. So the rule of nature does not limit Him, He is the source of all good and perfect blessings. There is none above or equal to Him. |

Re: The Descendant Of Apes by folaski: 1:43pm On Nov 06, 2011 |
^^^^you said God is complex and that is how best man can describe what he does not under stand. God's nature cannot be adiquately describe by words.we do not have enough vocabulary to express our experience of Him. Often times we use the word complex to describe an order that we do not understand so I sympathise with you. However, to compere the complexity of God with the brain of human being is a sincere expression of ignorance. You cannot compere or equate the smartest computer with the brain of man. You cant compere the creator with the creatures. |
Re: The Descendant Of Apes by Nobody: 1:50pm On Nov 06, 2011 |
folaski: Yet you know without a doubt that this god is a male and that he loves you. You know what he wants and all the human feelings and emotions he experiences but he is very complex and can't be adequately described. Fundamental christianity is like heroin. |
Re: The Descendant Of Apes by folaski: 2:05pm On Nov 06, 2011 |
@martian: how much of nuclear science do you understand? Yet you will belive its theory which might be overuled tommorow when another scientist debunks it. Godless science is the opium of the atheist. |
Re: The Descendant Of Apes by Nobody: 2:10pm On Nov 06, 2011 |
folaski: What does science have to do with this? Okay, if you want to castigate science, turn off your computer, turn off your electricity and don't use automobiles for a week. If you get sick during the week, do not use anything made by scientists. Go to your nearest church, pray and pour some freaking oil on your head. |
Re: The Descendant Of Apes by Kay17: 3:24pm On Nov 06, 2011 |
@folaski Oh he is far more complex than i thought, YET he does not need to be created, just us simpler beings |
Re: The Descendant Of Apes by folaski: 8:09pm On Nov 09, 2011 |
@martian: i have nothing against science. All am saying is that people like you always find it easer to believe a scientific theory which are usually debunked after a short while than to believe the eternal claims of christianity. |
