Have they really sat down to consider this cos if this is vulnerable to fraud, we'll have to see many rich men die of heart attack when 10m is illegally withdrawn.

Business / Re: Nigeria To Generate Electricity From Nuclear Technology by adamsN: 2:14pm On Nov 14, 2009
Waste to be converted to electricity; this is good thinking but everybody is forgetting the kick-back this govt officials receive from importation of generators and now you want to block their chops.
Regular power supply in Nigeria means death of Senators, ministers, commisioners.e.t.c. In short forget it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Business / Re: Sanusi's Impending Catastrophe: Cbn Directives Causes Stir In 'troubled' Banks by adamsN: 8:29am On Nov 04, 2009
I dont understand dis beef against Sanusi. He may have overstepped his boundary by trying to peep into the market value of this banks but actually I dont see why a regulator cant. Adigum101, wots wot you aint telling us cos all your posts are like you are after this guy. As said earlier, u will still come here expressing regret after the CEOs trial. You said that the banks were on the verge of recovery when Sanusi interfered and I wanna ask how long the recovery process would have lasted as if you are forgetting its the CBN's duty to protect the minority investors from the monsterous acts of the CEOs and their likes.
Lets all wait for the court's verdict.

Politics / Re: New And Revised Allowance For Nigerian Lawmakers by adamsN: 8:32am On Oct 28, 2009
I can see ery1 is new to this stupid reform cos there was a time in june when dis stupjd NRAFC came with a reform that cars used as escort be reduced as a sign of support during the economic crisis, thereby taking people out of their jobs.
I refuse to be surprised even now cos I know wot a bunch of rabid dogs they are.
Do you see politicians complaining? The doe is still large. Bankers salary has been slashed by 30% and they are talking about chicken reduction.

Politics / Re: Shareholders Have Lost Their Investments In Troubled Banks – Sanusi. by adamsN: 3:11pm On Oct 24, 2009
Seriously, I dont seee why minoroty shareholders should take the fall and why you dont want the CEOs killed.
Think of how many people have planned against their earnings from d investments and now have no hope.
What am actually gonna ask is why they v withheld the name of the CEO that wired £13m to his account. Them don start wuruwuru again ooooooooo!!!!!!!!!!!!
Politics / Re: Lagos Begins Stop And Search Tax Policy. Slams N0.62m Tax On Luxury Car by adamsN: 2:29pm On Oct 24, 2009
@kidsam.
Who says car tax is unfounded? Did u just decide not to notice Akinyemi stating its being a means to determine earnings (.i.e. using expense to determine earnings). Havent you heard of luxury tax as in the UK?
If the car was acquired on bank loan, then you dont get taxed!
From my own point of view, it aint a bad idea.
Atleast, driving a car nowmeans u can afford to pay a tax on ur car as well as affordability on d car owners part.
Lagosians, Nigerians, I urge us to try being realistic and compromising cos every1 wants lagos a megacity, soooooooo if u dont like it, u can repatriate back to ur villages. LASGITY aint a must be in, EKO ONI BAJE O!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Business / Re: Africa's Largest ICT Mall To Be Built In Abuja by adamsN: 11:10pm On Oct 19, 2009
Jiji_Inc:

Didn't CNP not carry out a feasibilty study before establishing such a product. How many individuals in Lasgidi go to structured companies to buy computer parts? We all go to Computer village. If u establish such a project in Abuja with the high cost of accommodation and offices, how much will the parts cost. Nigerians just want to do follow follow. If to say Baba 70 hear this one, im go dey sing say "Them get eye but no dey see, them get ear but no dey hear". A bunch of idiots thinking of spending people's money. What is the population of Abuja? How many people buy such stuff in that town?
They carried out a feasibility study and u can be sure of that, that's why Abuja got selected as a spot.

Business / Re: Amnesty: Nigeria Earns N18b From Oil Daily by adamsN: 8:07am On Oct 14, 2009
your responses are laughable. they betray your individual and collective ignorace. that's how writers (rabble-rousers, insinuators, provocators, inciters, speculators etc. ) program you to think, feel, talk, behave and probably act; like robots.

now 1.7million barrels per day translate to N18Billion a day. do you know how much it costs to produce one (1) barrel of oil ? do you know what constitutes the cost of production? do you know what percentage of the cost is paid by government? do you know what percentge of the profit goes to the government? do you know what percentage of the cost is paid by the producing companies? do you know what percentge of the profit goes to the producing companies? do you know the incubation period for oil and gas field development? these are just few tips to let you know that oil and gas business is far more than just number of barrels times number of nairas (dollars).

I think mate you are the one who need to get enlighteed on this. The article didnt talk abt sales per day. It talked abt earnings. That translates into earning N18 billion a day. and when you say earning you are talking abt income. As business man you determine your earnings or income after you deduct all those expenditure you mentioned above which give you the Net profit. That stands are your income or earning for the year, month or day depending on your accounting procedure.

Am just suprised that many Nigerians are shouting at this as if we just knew Nigerian income per day. Even when crude oil price rose at its peak( above 100usd per barrel) far beyond the budget for that year and Nigeria was in full position to meet up with the OPEC quota then {2million barrels per day}. We had nothing to show for it, absolutely nothing to show for the excess and unexpected income, how much more now that we cant even meet up with initial quota which was 2milliom barrel per day and the price of crude has falling to about US$73/barrel. Infact you guys should go to sleep and dont expect much coz this is jst normal to our govt.
I actally meant to explain the same thing but its a nice thing this is an educative forum and so everyone has got the difference between earnings and income.
All hail NAIRALAND!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
