In response to ur questions

1. Getting a police report in Nigeria from d US is not a big deal. Someone can do it for u in alagbon. For medical, there are designated hospitals in the US(check CIC site). For reference letter, u can collect before leaving Nigeria.

2. Ur second question goes to the root of ur eligibility to apply under EE program. If ur skill level is C, then u can't use d EE program cos it's NOC skill level 0,A&B dat r eligible. Additionally, u can't use Supervisor if u weren't actually one. Be careful of misrepresentation. I ve stated d penalty here before. Rejection plus 5year Ban.

Thanks for the clarifying

Hello Gurus in the house

Please I do like to inquire about these aspects of the application process.

I intend to relocate to US in May since my current job is not sufficient anymore. As I will be staying there for an unforeseeable long time. Although, my CRS score is at the moment at a tentative 380. I intend searching for PNP whilst retaking the IELTS exams.

My questions are:
1. How will I do the post ITA, the police report and medicals and work reference letter since I will be using my work experience in Nigeria.

2. My NOC is type C but the supervisor position is type B. Should I use the NOC code for supervisor instead? Or does any one knows the NOC for Aviation sector

Should I wait to get to the US before applying?

Your suggestions pls.

@Seyewest please I need your advise.

I have booked my flight on Turkish Airlines to Houston but I intend staying for my hols in Connecticut with a family friend. So this is my plan, on my visa application, I used a hotel in San Antonio as my destination in order to visit the sea world Resort which is almost 4hours drive from the airport. My flight will arrive at 19:05pm. So I do like to know, if booking a hotel close to the airport for just the night and book another for a couple of days at a hotel in San Antonio. but my intention is just to do a night stop and fly to Connecticut the next day. This is just to avoid any possible issues at the POE.

Does this look Okay? Your advice pls.

Only Ontario province requires a minimum of 400 CRS for PNP.
You will need to check individual provinces to determine when they are inviting and if you can fit into any of their programs. You may also want to check their skills shortage or on-demand jobs / professions, if available.
I would suggest you re-write IELTS and target a minimum of LRSW 8777 as that is the surest way of boosting your CRS.

Thanks so much.

It take 6 - 8 weeks for remarking.
The results will also be frozen during the period so its a long wait for me considering that 2nd June is around the corner. Its really annoying for me as I missed out on expected band in reading by 0.5 but wont remark for now as we await spouse's results. I'v had to re-register for the exam though.

what are my options now? My result was good enough as I made LRSW 6.5/6/7.5/6.5 and I'm having 375 from the CRS calculator. Can I get any PNP to boost my score and chances with 375?
Travel / Re: Canadian Express Entry/federal Skilled Workers Program Connect Here by biggie1o2(m): 10:39pm On Apr 14, 2017
Please what's the duration for the IELTS remarking takes for result to be out? Same 13 days?

this is no advert but part of my social responsibility.

I would advice you job seeking graduates to register and become agent of a reputable mobile money company.
then look for areas with high banking needs and active businesses.
don't worry about capital,
don't worry about security. leave all that to the company.
a young lady begged me once to help secure a Job. I registered her as a fortis mobile money agent and today, she earns an average of 60k monthly.
don't despise days of little beginning or sell your youth for peanut salary.

Obatide:
Ouch! you are reporting this late, but its a lesson for all because, had it been you said it before she board, its simpler and cheaper in Nigeria, she would have just gone back to the clinic where it was done and update, then embassy will re-package (within a day), thats all.
So now, all hope isnt gone still, but its costly because its in $$$ rate. she will be compelled to repeat the medical in a US hospital and submit, then her passport will be returned to her, thats all.

thanks Obatide, i hope the medicals wont take much of a time and it's wont be so costly before the small money wey she carry go go finish for the medicals.
one more question pls, how long can around $2000 go in settling in the states bearing in mind that the person stays with a host but every other thing else on the person to carter for. 2 or 3 months, whats the estimate?

hello house, my sister landed in chicago on sunday evening but at a little hitch at her POE. Unknowingly, her medicals has expired so her passport was seized pending when she gets her tests redone. this might delay her registering and getting her SSN on time. i need advice on how possible she can get this sorted out.

Daudsmart: yes bro! That is the normal response you get immediately after delivery, so they will latter reply u in couple of days that 'ur forms have been received, the information provided would be included in ur case file for review'. The visa is hers by God's grace.
Travel / Re: DV 2014 Winners Meet Here by biggie1o2(m): 8:03am On Nov 30, 2013
Thank u all for ur input, i appreciate. But my concern is this, we used her correct details in filling the form which we sent to them but this is the auto reply from kcc. "The Kentucky Consular Center (KCC) has received your email.  This emailaddress, KCCDV@state.gov is for case-specific Diversity Visa inquiresonly.  If you would like to check the status of your entry, please do soat www.dvlottery.state.gov/ESC.  This website is the definitive means ofdetermining whether or not you were selected for possible furtherprocessing. For inquiries about specific cases, please ensure that you have includedyour case number, first and last name, and date of birth with your inquiry.  If this information is not provided or is inaccurate, KCC willbe unable to process your inquiry"

Like I said we didnt include her dob in the body of the mail sent b it her real dob or the wrong dob. Will it b an issue? Or shld we resend the mail??
candytos:

I see your predicament, I am advising you to use the correct age, which is what you have sent in the forms, do not change it as that is what is on her certificates and passports and birth certificate I believe. Tell your sister to tell the CO the truth at the interview if the CO raise an issue on it, tell him that an agent applied for her and made the mistake of putting wrong DOB and place of birth, They understand and know agents help people to apply and mistakes are made and they do not make issues on it so long u tell the truth. Believe me we give this people too much credit they will not note or see this difference in DOB or place of birth not to talk of raising issues about it. Tell ur sis that the visa is hers IJN amen. u will surely testify on her behalf IJN amen.

Others please comment

An agent applied 4her with a wrong dob and place of birth. D age diff is 4years older dab she is now and place of birth (ibadan) instead of lagos. Put we used d correct details of her wen filling the forms and submitted via email. I called kcc last nyt and d lady said we hv to stick with d dob in which der hv on thier database but we hv already sent d completed forms. Can ee resend it usin d details d agent used or stick wit her real details. Besides am not sure dey might honour this forms we sent coz i didnt include her dob on d body of d mail sent 2dem which is mandatory for dem to work on ur mail.

This is where we are now, what can we do frm here.
candytos:

I say congratulations to ur sister, sending your forms after you are current does not affect your interview, whenever you send your forms with all correct information before September 30th 2014, you will be scheduled for an interview after six weeks despite that your CN has been passed (I mean current and passed). Sending your forms by email is faster and cheap as you spend next to nothing compared to courier but it is only advisable you use it if you are computer savvy or conversant with the process.
As for her a DOB and place of birth discrepancy you have to explain what type of discrepancy for the house to advise you on what steps to take to cover or correct this before your interview. I wish your Sis God's favor.

Freshie:

Hi, pls I would like for you to read as carefully as you can. I am not an authority so I can't claim to have all the answers but I will tell you my personal experience. Personal, as in me and my wife, not that I heard the story from someone.

THE MOST IMPORTANT THING YOU SHOULD KNOW IS THAT THEY LOVE HONESTY.

I feel excited about having to share this cos it ended well. I filled in for the 2013 entry like everyone else in 2011. I no even get girlfriend then. Results came in October 2012, I had a girlfriend I was hoping to marry (I had known her as a friend since 2008). I already sent the forms back to them as single last November before I proposed to her this January.

We got married in April and I immediately started worrying about what would happen to our new marriage if I had to travel without her and our expecting baby, I could not imagine it. I used to have nightmares! Of course I got a lot of different advice from people: I was told that if you filled as single and show up as married, they could get suspicious and deny you the visa. I let fear creep in and I did nothing about it. (If I knew better I would have contacted them telling them my status had changed and sent them supplementary forms for my wife). Everyone said I should go as single (there is a BIG problem here when you want to file later and they discover your marriage certificate then says you were already married at the time of your interview and you failed to mention it).

I did medicals, police report and birth certificate alone and went for the interview on August 14. Some said I should take off my ring but I said I would not deny who I am so I kept it on. Remember that I was also praying that something would happen that would permit me and my wife to travel together, I didn't know how it would happen but I kept hoping. I also took my marriage certificate just in case they saw my ring and asked for proof I would show them so they would not deny me my visa. When I got into the interview room, the lady that checked my documents saw my ring and asked if I was married. I said "I am now".
Officer: Ok, where is your wife?
Me: She's at home
Officer: Isn't she travelling with you?
Me: I would love that very much but I filled the form as single so I don't know how that could happen
Officer: You could travel with your wife, we don't say that because you won the lottery that you shouldn't get married or move on with your life
Me: shocked
Officer: Where's your marriage cert?
I gave it to her and she said "Hold on let me make a copy of it". When she returned,
Officer: I can't get that smile off your face right? I'm sure you can't wait to tell her cheesy
Me: I sure can't!
Officer: Here are the forms you submitted last year, I need you to edit these categories to include your wife's name, date of birth, place of birth and date of marriage. Here, use this pen.. (I felt I was dreaming!)
Officer: You just get successfully interviewed by the CO first
Me: Thank you!
(She even told another colleague of hers and both of them were looking at me and smiling).

My interview with the CO was interesting. The guy drilled me like no other, and he made me feel very stupid with the look on his face when he asked why my wife wasn't here and I said I was told it would complicate matters.
CO: I can't believe I'm hearing this. Who told you that? We expect that you should notify us in the event your status changes. This interview surely can't be concluded until we interview your wife! You will need to come with her and with proof of relationship(photos).
CO: What do you do?... Where do you work?... Tell me some websites you have done (since I said I was a web designer)...
CO: Your name isn't at the bottom of the website, how do I know you did it?...
CO: When can you come back with your wife for another interview?...

When I got back home, a lot of my folks were skeptical that the opportunity had been lost. One even said, "When they see your wife's tummy now, anyway let's see"
We used last weekend to quickly go do police report and medicals. We also printed almost 40 pictures of the proposal day, the trad, the registry wedding, pictures from last year when we were still dating.
On the day of our rescheduled interview August 22, we even forgot my wife's visa fee of $330 at home!

At the end of the day, we were granted our visas, and even advised not to travel immediately cos my wife is heavily pregnant. Another CO joined the one interviewing us and told us that we should have the baby here, then send an email and they will immediately invite us to come with the baby's birth certificate and passport picture so we could be issued a letter to permit us travel with our baby. Last week was awesome for me because yesterday, August 24 was my birthday! God truly showed himself.

So here's my advice to you:

Say the truth, let the woman swear an affidavit at the Ikoyi High Court that her age was incorrectly entered by the person who submitted the entry (you see, they don't expect you to have done everything yourself), let them get married and keep enough pictures of the ceremony. They should also get pictures from before they got married to show that some relationship existed before marriage. Then get all the required documents ready. Lastly and most importantly, pray believing that you're talking to a living God, don't pray with fear.

The bad thing about lying now is that you will have to remain on your guard for the rest of your stay there. The day they discover you lied, you will be in trouble. Another first hand experience I saw same day August 22 was a woman shaking with tears of joy after she was granted a non-immigrant visa. She lied about something in the year 1982! Yes, that long ago! The CO just asked her a question and she came out clean. CO told her "if your answer was not this, we would be having a very different conversation right now so I say congratulations, your visa will be ready at this address..." Apparently she had been banned for many years from entering the US.

So my brother, that's my advice to you. I hope you take it. All the best to your sister and husband!

Sorry for the extremely long post! grin

thanks so much Freshie for the advice and Happy Belated Birthday and my kind regards to your family! i will advice her on this accordingly

My advice is your sister shld go for the interview alone.. They just pass a new bill now which is called F2A. Which makes it move easy to fill for the spouse and children. Less than 3month not like previous years which takes 1year and half. U can google to read about F2A

thanks so much Jidex. i just read about it now, it seems it better this way.

@ Biggie, I believe Yumash00's suggestion is quite good, let ur sista not hurry to send her forms for process until about 3months after the wedding. Note there is still plenty of time until September 2014.God's favor on ur SiS n her fiancé.

thank you all for your advice on this, my own stands on this still remains that she should go ahead as single and call up d finace later but she so wants them to go together. but if we should go with @yumash00's advice, how sure will it b a success and can she still send her form to KCC as couple after the deadline for submission elapse for next month?

on getting a new passport, the agent used wrong DOB and place of birth for her so all this she has to corrected, thou she intends using her NECO result which doesn't have DOB on it. the agent he will assist on that.

hello House, i need your advice on this.
my younger sis won the lottery for 2014 through an agent, we have collected the details we need from him but he used her wrong date of birth and place of birth. she already has an int'l passport so we are thinkin of redoing a new passport for her.
the issue here is that her fiancee wants to do traditional marriage and court marriage go they can go as a couple, but am looking at the possibilities of it working out at the interview because the dates of marriage will be after she should have submitted the forms back to KCC cos they are about fill the form. so house your advice is reallyu needed here. should she fill the form as single and they proceed with their marriage plans or should she just do everything as single applicant and let her fiancee will follow her on a later date.
your advice pls

Good day forumites,
I would like to have some reasonable answers to this question. My friend is current for the month of july. But she is 1n 300level 2nd semester now and she wont be able to finish her schooling here b4 leaving. So she's looking at to options now, either she process her transcript from her sch here and complete her education ova there. But wat is d possibility that she would be able to continue where she stopped from here? or she goes to the US and do the necessary documentations, get her green card, SSN etc and come back to finish her sch here since she has ova a year left. Comin back i mean in terms of shuttling btw US and Nigeria while she completes her sch. I am aware she cant stay more than 6months outside the US. So which of the options is beta for her situation now. She needs advice

pjogutum1: @biggie1o2: @junkerhill you don’t need to worry KCC with email update now, my case number falls within that range 174** and I am sure there are others in the house that falls there too my advice is that you follow the visa bulletin until you are current then start to check your 2NL every week or wait for anyone in the house that falls within that range to announce the arrival of their 2NL then you can checkup your 2NL at the Website since you have your verification numbers with you. Cheers hope this helps.
