cheesy Umunnatim don confess d truth now cheesy Na arrangee abi? Ok na, your best option is to get a tourist visa, enter Yankee then let her file for you there. The 28 year gap is a mighty red flag and you've probably never met her. The fiancee or spousal visa will be tied up for a long while if you don't get rejected outright because they will investigate you both thoroughly.
To know how to package yourself for tourist visa read from Page 1 to the end and be inspired.
I hope no be she wan gba you sef asking for plenty money to get you into the U.S. No enter 1-chance o. cheesy cheesy cheesy

@ amasunya is your sponsor residing in the US? questions regarding his status may arise so pls clarify. As a student who's never travelled it's a 50/50 chance so I'd advice you dress smartly but comfortably and have a positive attitude. You are going for a holiday between semesters in school I assume? You may be asked questions about your course; 1 or brief replies would do. You could prepare a few answers to the question "what would you do during your holiday" know 1 or 2 things about the city you'd be visiting. Unless there are any peculiarities in your application, you should have a good outcome. All the best.
Travel / Re: Usa Visit Visa by blawi1(f): 11:32pm On Aug 19, 2013
@ pastor you won't be able to be able to retrieve it anymore but if you remember the details you filled in you can jot them down or fill a dummy ds 160 and save/ print that for your records.
Travel / Re: Usa Visit Visa by blawi1(f): 5:42pm On Aug 19, 2013
@ Naomibaby the US is not the only country you can transit through to get to south america. You can transit through many countries in Europe. The US transit visa is just like applying for a regular visiting visa: it is subject to availability of interview dates. Presently the wait time to get an interview for transit is 7 days but until you pay for d visa you won't know exactly how near or far an available date is. If your friend has any valid schengen or UK visa then she can transit through there instead.

@ wehla: is there anything different about this application from the previous one? Is it EXACTLY same info but for the new travel dates? If you are going visiting and shopping in the US and get rejected say 4 wks ago, why d urgency to reapply so soon? That may be what made the CO refuse you a 2nd time. Have you been denied an immigrant visa before say DV Lottery or anything of the nature? All other points by Ajanlekoko are also valid ones.
Travel / Re: Usa Visit Visa by blawi1(f): 12:26am On Aug 19, 2013
@ ummunatim I advice you do an extensive research on the available options : tourist/fiancee/spousal visa each has it's pros and cons. You know your personal circumstances best and you and your fiancee should make the decision together. The fiancee/spousal cost a whole lot more money than the tourist visa so you could give that a shot and hope for the best.
Travel / Re: Usa Visit Visa by blawi1(f): 4:20pm On Aug 18, 2013
@ummunatim, d question is do you wanna visit and return? if yes then fill in your info on d ds160 form as honestly as possible. Take note though that disclosing u have an american citizen girlfriend is a red flag. the form asks what relatives you have in the U.S. including parents, siblings and fiancee. Since she's your girlfriend I'd advice ti stick to the category of "Friend" when describing her during your interview. Remember for a visiting visa the onus is on you to convince them that you ARE returning to Nigeria not that you want to stay behind.

If you want to relocate immediately then you should consider the Fiance Visa or get married in Nigeria and she files for you on her return to the U.S. and either process takes an average of 3-6 mths for a fiancee visa, 6-10mths for immigrant visa for a spouse.

Oh and they rarely check documents for visiting visas so it's what you put in on the visa form they judge you by as well as your answers during the interview.

You're a crane operator and your MD trusts his business to you to make such an important trip the the U.S. to buy millions of naira worth of cranes? And with your desire to have ur passport stamped in Ghana and unused mexican visa............ this your story na wash o!

@ topaztee: have you paid for the visa? you will be unable to view appointment dates without the receipt of the visa fee which you enter on the appointment booking page.

@ chidi: the explanation is reasonable but too long. A simple answer to the question why did you not use your mexico visa: we were too busy @ work for me to take time off. Also my dad died about the same time. The sentiment of not wanting to travel abroad at that time is implied and understood.

@ cori_code i have heard of someone who didn't use his 2 yr visa being rejected next time round for no other reason than spite; by the time the same person re-applied he was given! I'd say during the interview your dad should say he was busy with work and he never got round to visit the US. He has travelled abroad during the intervening time right? the VO would see the other visas and stamps of entry and exits from other countries. He is an older person above 50 yrs and so the suspicion of visa fraud is much less. He should get the visa regardless. Al the best.

@ favoredgal: Congratulations. Honesty pays right?
@kellyemms that's how most illegals get in: by overstaying a visiting visa. Many have gone that route and were unable to get legal status for years. I hear the American hustle no get part 2 even for those with their college degrees and work permits. A friend is literally stuck in their system now - unable to come home and yet not as successful as his contemporaries in the Nigerian banking industry.
My advise: do your homework well regarding getting a work visa there, or stay back in Nigeria and make it happen. All the best.

By October all the summer vacations demands of d embassies would be over so you could get your schengen visa within 10 days. But remember unless you wanna apply for d US visa independent of d schengen, the timing may not work for you.
Travel / Re: Usa Visit Visa by blawi1(f): 5:11pm On Aug 02, 2013
I did exactly what you did, travelled to Paris Oct/Nov for 10days and my US visa appointment was Nov 29th. My intended US trip was for December. I simply attended my interview and the VO asked you intend to travel in 2wks? I just said yes rather than give him a long explanation that the 2 trips were too close and I was gonna travel much later. I eventually didn't go to the US till 5 mths after. It's not his business what you went to Europe for afterall it could have been a business trip. His concern is that You'd visit the US and return to Naija.
Travel / Re: Usa Visit Visa by blawi1(f): 1:42pm On Aug 02, 2013
@ asorock, apply for d schengen visa anyways. The delay in visa procurement is due to demand for summer vacation visas that is why it's taking so long otherwise the normal wait time for french schengen visa is 10 days after finger-printing.
For 1st time schegen visas, your visa covers your travel dates only give or take a few days eg you apply for 5 days schengen you get 1 wk or if you're lucky then you get 2wks. And they can post date it to your intended date of travel. Eg you apply to travel in august against Nov 1 you may get ur visa anytime b4 then but the start date of d visa will be Nov 1 - Nov 10 2013.
Now based on this info, you may or maynot be able to tie your France trip to your US trip @ Christmas.
So you either book for your US visa interview AFTER your return trip from France, or apply for your interview for anytime in November knowing the visa would be in d passport even if you haven't travelled yet. I hope this helps.
Travel / Re: Usa Visit Visa by blawi1(f): 1:59pm On Jul 31, 2013
@ coolmrjohn you/ your friend can't extend the visa but when he gets to the US the CBP offical @ d airport may stamp his passport with a permit that let's him stay for a maximum of 6 mths 180 days) or even shorter days depending on the purpose of his visit. For example if he's attending a conference, he get a 1 mth stamp in his passport. With a tourist visa, you are not permitted to work so your asking suggests your friend wants to abuse his visa and possibly overstay. Naughty, naughty.

@influential: For your friend there's no additional document required though he will be asked for a photo I'd when boarding his flight, so it'd be good to have his international passport on him while flying locally.
Travel / Re: Usa Visit Visa by blawi1(f): 8:43am On Jul 29, 2013
@ chidi fill in the details of the course and your job description as asked on the DS 160 form. Most of the time, documents are not checked so it is based on the info you provide.
Travel / Re: Usa Visit Visa by blawi1(f): 12:38pm On Jul 24, 2013
@ tykoko if a person re-applies with the same names even if you swtich the 1st name and the middle name around, the person's information will show up. Regardless of whether or not fingerprints were taken before or not. So it will be fool-hardy to try and you said "with the same information". You can't beat their screening system.
A life ban is exactly that: A Life Ban! Nothing would make such a person eligible for a visa, you should go visit other countries if indeed you want to travel abroad.
Travel / Re: Usa Visit Visa by blawi1(f): 5:30pm On Jul 22, 2013
For many years the bad stories of Visa refusals circulated that's why. When they read d requirements for the different countries it looks too simple. So ppl believe they need to lie/pad their stories hence the "agents".
Travel / Re: Usa Visit Visa by blawi1(f): 6:25am On Jul 22, 2013
@ influential01 and @kaziam: the problem with using agents is that they fill the DS-160 form for you a with information that you MAY not be aware of.

So Infulential pls ask d agent to print out d DS-160 form BEFORE submitting, in fact he should submit it online in your presence that way you are fully aware of what your profile is and can defend the information therein.

@ Kaziam, the agent may have put in info that is false hence the revocation of the visa. Ur friend should find that agent and know exactly what was put on file about him. I wish him all the best.

@ justwise: well done!

@ igbankebabe Sure he can apply early but no more than 3 months to d expected date of departure. But note the visa is dated from d interview date so he may as well go for d interview in November.
Travel / Re: Usa Visit Visa by blawi1(f): 2:31am On Jul 17, 2013
@ Kelvinmitchell the 1st thing to do is to create a profile on ustraveldocs and tentatively fill a DS-160 form. Fill the details concerning you, your work and the person you're going to visit. Save the form and you can keep updating the info you have there until you're ready to submit later.
THEN, you can ask your friend or US contact to send an invitation letter stating he/she is hosting you for the duration of your stay. The letter should be signed, scanned and emailed to you. You can print out and have ready in case it is asked of you @ d interview. Read thru every page of this thread, it will help you a lot. Most of your questions' answers lie in here.
Travel / Re: Usa Visit Visa by blawi1(f): 8:04pm On Jul 15, 2013
@ kelvin your personal profile determines what route you go. If you're sincerely going on vacation then work on the requirements to satisfy the VO. If you do have a conference to attend that improves your skills on the job or a training for a few weeks that your company will sponsor or "claim to sponsor you for" then by all means pursue that. No path is particularly easier if you ask me. Some people say attending a work related event abroad is better, others swear visiting friends/family is easier. It is up to you.
Travel / Re: Usa Visit Visa by blawi1(f): 7:45pm On Jul 14, 2013
@ kelvinmitchell visit http://www.ustraveldocs.com/ng

@ Henries Airfrance 1 way for Augut 1st is N360,431 while a Return ticket for 1st august to return Sept 30th is N337,435 just as an example.
Travel / Re: Usa Visit Visa by blawi1(f): 10:48am On Jul 14, 2013
@ Henries, sure you can buy a 1-way ticket afterall you're moving permanently and not sure when you'd want to visit. The CBP won't question that, they won't check. A 1-way ticket is only slightly cheaper than a return ticket maybe a 20 or 30k difference but pls check with a travel agent, check wakanow.com or travelstart.com.ng or the website of your preferred airline.

An income of 50k thereabouts is low so you need a way to boost your profile in fact less than 100k too. In the space that says give a brief summary of your duties state what they are. if there is a paper trail of the monies that come into your account and they are company transactions that you can explain then say something like you handle client accounts to the tune or N500,000 a month or something. I'm not sure how that comes across sha. Guys pls help.
Travel / Re: Usa Visit Visa by blawi1(f): 5:48pm On Jul 10, 2013
@ Baani, if you wanna go ahead, then you should take the matter in your hands and apply with your own information. Let's say you work with ABC company for 1 yr and your salary is 100k monthly but 250k goes through your account. Rather than claim your job pays you 250k keep it simple and say you earn 100k. Remember you put your office details in the DS 160 form, if you claim u earn more than the industry average it may raise a red flag. Besides you'd also give a brief summary of your duties on the job on that form. A friend claiming he is your employer may be a little clumsy if questions regarding that job come up. You are in probably in your 20s @ least and are employed; It won't look good to say your mother is sponsoring your trip. it sounds like you're hiding something. You can have a friend invite you and hold that inviation letter for the interview and know about that friend well enough if questions come up. that way the cost of your trip is limited to just your ticket fees and a little spending money.

I got my US visa as a single girl so it's not binding claiming to have strong family ties or landed properties and so on. Besides they rarely view your documents anyway so make your info on the form super tight but as simple as possible. Hope this helps.

@ Aruya the step to take if a person wants to stay back in the US is........ .to stay back and not return the I-94 card which is the proof that you've returned to your country. If a person chooses not to come back after such a trip, it means they will be penalized when eventually found out. Usually the I-94 white card is put in the passport on entering the US and specifies a stay not exceeding 6 mths. Beyond that, one would have to sustain one's self and attempt to get a job which will be difficult without a social security number which you DON'T get as a visitor. A stay more than 6 mths but less than 1 yr will attract a 3 yr ban while a stay beyond 1 yr attracts a 10 yr ban. As many ppl will tell you, it is not so easy settling in the US even for those there legally, even a few DV lottery winners have admitted to such; pls let that person count the cost well before making that decision. Friends hosting you during a conference/ vacation expect you to leave after a few weeks and one would be surprised how tough they can be on you once it is clear you wanna stay indefinitely.
