Gamine,

Do not judge a book by it's cover, no black person on their prospectus or website does not mean the uni has little or no black person studying there. Why don't you visit Scotland first and talk to the schools, that will help you to decide where to go. That was what I did.

As for the living cost, you will find the info on the website of those schools.

The Fresh Talent - Working in Scotland Scheme is a programme created by the Scottish Executive to allow non-EEA nationals who have studied in Scotland to live and work in the country for up to 2 years after graduation. After the 2 year limit is over, members of the scheme must leave the UK unless they are successful in applying for residency under existing policy, for example the Highly Skilled Migrant Programme

The purpose of the scheme is to deal with problems of population decline and skill shortages in Scotland.

Your profile shows you are a female and you are now asking me to get you a Scottish cutie. Are you trying to tell me something here? Are you the kind of girl who is attracted to same sex? Please explain.

Have you thought of Aberdeen? The city is full of Nigerians because university of Aberdeen offers Oil & gas course. Nigerians even have their own church over there. So if Oil & gas course is your thing or you are the type who loves gossiping and robbing shoulders with our country people then think of Aberdeen. If you have no time and love doing your own thing, then join me in the West End of Glasgow. Moreover, Glasgow is better in terms of socialising. It is the biggest city in Scotland.

I am studying in Glasgow and can tell you that Scotland is the lastest International students destination in the UK because of their "Fresh Talent scheme" that allows non-EEA citizens a two-year visa extension if they study in Scotland.

I do not know much about Edinburgh. But I am aware that University of Edinburgh is one of the best universities in Scotland. To the best of my knowledge, Scotland is a good country, when you come here you will find that the people will be very friendly towards you, but like any other city anywhere there is some bad points too. But the Good outdoes the bad.

I suggest you look at the websites of British Airways and Virgin Nigeria and see what they have to offer. My guess is that they are the only airlines that fly direct to the UK. Go to the airport and find out how you can buy the ticket directly from any Airline you prefer, that will help you to avoid travel agent's commission.

@ Azorjiu & others,

Yeah! I think it's more cool to be a doorman/ bouncer. Please is it better to work for a company or work as a freelancer? What is the best option? But I'm wondering how a doorman can survive in a country that is full of thugs and drunkards. Man should at least wear a stab vest, isn't it?

I have read a lot on the SIA website and can't wait to obtain my own licence. I would like to choose between security guarding and door supervision (Bouncer). Please does anybody know the one that would give me more time to study?

@ Azorjiu & Funkybaby,

I thank you guys very much.

I am new in the UK and apart from that this SIA licence thing is new over here. Scotland started issuing it from February 2007.

I called a friend some minutes ago and asked him the same question, he told me that the application and the training cost about £600, and from November 1 it will be a criminal offence in Scotland to carry out a licensable security activity without an SIA licence or for supervisors, managers or directors of security firms to deploy unlicensed operatives.

Please what is the process and cost of obtaining SIA licence?
Romance / Re: Why are girls so eager for money? by Bulga(m): 4:51pm On Aug 04, 2007
awoof:

the answer is very simple nature made them to be like that. anyway sha it depends if they are dealing with young guys they are clever not to demand because any affair with a single could end up in marriage-so they reason cheesy cheesy but if it an aristo it is money for hand, back for ground chikenna grin grin grin

Nature has nothing to do with girls running from one guy to another for the sake of money. It is a matter of greed and poverty. Any man who loves himself should stay away from such girls no matter how beautiful they may be, they have nothing to offer in a relationship other than sadness, broken heart, sexual Transmitted Diseases, AIDS etc.

We all know that decent and productive girls are taken every time, but I for one, love myself and will keep searching till I find that girl.

I just want to add that Aberdeen is full of Nigerians because universities over there offer Oil & gas courses. I believe you can find more Nigerians over there than in Glasgow which is the biggest city in Scotland.

You better choose University of Aberdeen because it is in Scotland and Scotland runs a scheme called "Fresh Talent" that allows non-EEA citizens a two-year visa extension if they study in Scotland.

You will get only one-year visa extension if you do your masters in England.

Have you tried gumtree.com (http://cambridge.gumtree.com)? You need not to be told that a lot of things are happening on the Internet. Don’t send a rental deposit without seeing the apartment first and never send any money through Western Union.

Oh, what a self-deceit! Go ahead, discipline yourself some more. But remember that menopause is around the corner and the needed healing will only commence the moment you accept inside of you that something is wrong somewhere.

My dearest Militia, please stop arguing with these virgins, they are not up to 35 years. They still need to grow up.

I am seriously following Militia's lectures. The idea of customising a girl is not bad at all. But I have never smoked not to talk of ganja. I believe my first move is to start smoking ganja. So Black Diamond & Militia, count me in for the ganja meeting. Militia, it's obvious that you have a way with words, so it won't be bad if you lure the 35 year old virgin to join us.

Damn! Militia, it seems you are right. It is like I badly need the virgin.

How is life in Aberdeen? Am sure you are enjoying Naija/black babes over there. If so, I implore you to parcel one who is not a virgin to me.
