Dont forget that AIICO is three companies in one now, AIICO merged with NFI insurance which used to be listed and LAMAK insurance, We should be seeing a three in one result when they eventually release it.

Just to help you see that it may go beyond N8.00

Has anyone noticed that the prices on Nigerianstockexchange site also varies depending on the time you check. This explains why we may be getting different results from different sources.

Howver i just wait till much later to confirm prices when NSE must have fully done all the updates.

I think the prices still come in in batches after trading ends and so different brokers get it at different point in time. Some prices match one another and some dont validating this theory.

Guys, this is to bring to your notice the aggression with which the banks are attacking insurance business. Gtassurance is leveraging on the over 100 branches of GTB to push insurance products to their retail and corporate customers.  The strenght of this is that this customers already have relationship with the banks and are likely to prefer a onestop shop for their financial products including insurance. Oceanic is doing same.

The branche networks this insurance companies are trying to build are already in place with the banks. The understanding of customer service is more entrenched in the banking sector than in Insurance companies who are just retraining their staff.

The one that underscores it for me is the knowledge as a result of working in the GTB years ago the stenght of the groups that interface with the oil and gas industry. Knowing the oil and gas industry, the local content business that we expect will cause earnings to catch up with share prices might not necessarily be there as the banks have too much money from their recent offers strenghtening their capacity to under-right big ticket insurance transactions.

As a result i think that positions in insurance should be short-term rather than longterm. UNIC insurance may have realised this hence their decision to not raise money now for any branch expansion but focus on growing the health insurance thing.

Any thoughts on this.

Walahi Flakky - you were looking for attention, Talk true grin

I be one tell Oga Pumping, Madam Yodi and the one and only AKT make them no vex -

A tip for the new comers, if you want cheap popularity, pick on one of the Guru - and there you go, you become a celebrity. (just joking o, )

In recent time, na Wasky Waja i like pass - the guy got me seriously thinking. 40M - "Oga come see moni" (This was actually a phrase borrowed from an arm robber, that saw big dough for the first time in his life, and called on the Chief Arm robber, Oga, Oga come see moni, )

Anyway, back to Serious matter, from now on - we should simply ignore, message that does not fall in line with the respect we have for one another on this thread, Chikena.

grin grin@savvylanre na wa for your 1 step program for cheap popularity. But rest assured i am secure in what i am and i what i do and do not need notoriety that does not put money in my pocket for now.

Pumping Yodi and i are over it . I know somee needy people will play to the gallery and use the exchanges of this last weekend to seek to get attention from the principals in this issue and thats okay.

I promise not to cause any more trouble for at least 10yrs grin. Hopefully your PA's will be the ones monitoring thiss thread by then.

@flakky
i need to drop this line before i go to bed. from your postings i could deduce that u ar an immature   entry into nairaland. yodiyokun is one of the gurus in the house, i give them credit because they sacrifice their time nd brain to keep this thread informative. i mean they are "untouchables" and if u culd speak to a lady in this manner i wonder how u adress your wife at home. learn from the lesson of one "detruth" who has since vanished from this thread. my two cent.goodnite.

Pumping, Yodiyokun

What should i say to this iconbull who is projecting someone as untouchable and insulting me at thesame time when we have resolved this issues?

Aktopgun

if you look at my posts you will note that i have not asked your assistance in anyway.

Why should i keep quietwhen someone tells me to sharapp for my opinions. Why did you not advise him to temper things down and not aggravate issues by telling people to sharaaaap.

I don't know how your decision to ignore people affects the price of fish in the market.

Let me keep quiet for sake of the decent people on this forum and suck up my malware and spyware losses from megaupload
Investment / Re: Stock Market Tips For Nigerians by flakyy: 9:18pm On Feb 10, 2008
Pumping,

I sheath my sword, i guess i was unfair in letting certain things i should have addressed boil over to the point where i went ballistic.

Like going to megaupload where you in good faith posted some files , but was devastating in terms of malware and spyware on that one picked up from that site.  Also in good faith you made the list of outstanding shares available which had some errors here and there. I only know this cause of people on ground i can get the real results from.

These are all issues i could have addessed in a more civil manner, but was miffed at the malware and spyware issues from megaload on one's system

I am sorry.

Yodi-yokun. You are a bufoon. When people are trying to quench the fire you are stoking it. who are you tell someone to sharap.

Pumping accept my apologies, i over reacted,

But please everyone beware of megaupload, it is a den of malware and spyware.

Your comments are water off the back of an hippo. If we can criticise zenithsecurities and other companies, we can express our lack of appreciation of comments of other people.

angry angry angryI just don't understand why people are different from what they are meant to stand for and what they project when they are on a forum like this where everyone is faceless. Pumping and company why do you have nothing good to say about all this sites that are doing a good job  inspite of the limitations of operating in that environment. What i perceive your belief system is is not a proponent of tearing down oo.

Pumping and co stop badmouthing these resoureces. Zenitsecurities is a great resource. Who is the authoritative source that makes zenithsecurities wrong. Its wrong to assume that because this are entities you cannot identify individual with, you should run them down. What makes you the authority to comment on zenithsecurities abilities as regards right results. Lets even leave zenith and say you are angry at them because they are not an "NGO" that provides free service, haba if you have any probblem with a small company like nigeriansecurites that are solvoing problems no one has been looking at, why don't you let them know if you find a problem and stop projecting a negative image of them. Please pratice what you depict and speak life.

For your information zenithsecurites if you use them for your  trades are darn good. You also don't know of the gallant efforts they are at the forfront of in terms of pushing policy that will help this market and all of us eventually.  For your information, they provide better tools than the aptistock and metastock that make you feel like einstein

I also did the right thing by emailing nigeriansecurities of your run down observations. They promptly fixed it and were appreciative of been fed back.

Lets use this forum to engender growth of not only individuals but companies that are at the forefront of bringing efficiency to this market

BUILD UP AND NOT TEAR DOWN

Does it mean I have lost everything?. I was thinking that those who took over those banks took over both Assets and Liabilities.? Ola007:

My portfolio is showing dividends payable to stock I brought, did GTB pay interim dividend this year? and is the dividends paid into one's CSCS account?

Guaranty paid an interim dividend of 25kobo around oct/nov 2007. Check closely , the date must be sometime in 2007.

5kobo div UNIC paid last year totalling about 10,000 naira also showed up in my portfolio. Reaching out to the registrars to collect my dividend warrants is a must for me for that

Precisely what i was talking about when i say that dividends that have been paid that somehow investors did not know about will now be known.

Its up to you to determine either through your broker where it should have been sent to. You can always go to registrars of stocks in question to claim long forgotten dividend warrants if you dont have the e-dividend thing that allows your acct to be credited directly with dividends setup.
Investment / Re: Stock Market Tips For Nigerians by flakyy: 5:41pm On Feb 08, 2008
But i really give it to Nigeriansecurities anyway. Has anyone seen there bonus and dividend tracking system.

It even shows dividends from as far back as 2001. The banks may not be happy about this oo cause people who get to know about this will soon start calling for their dividend warrants.

Imagine and elderly couple that i met in my church that i worked through creating a portfolio on nigeriansecurities just saw in their portfolio dividends that they did not know had accrued to them in all this years across various stocks, This was substantial.

I am really impressed shaaa

Good day to All you gurus in the house.

Please i need a software preferably online that can be telling me what i am worth at any point in time in my Nigerian Stocks

I tried to use a spreadsheet but it is so manual. I know with my 401k acct, once trading for the day is completed,
i can see my positions , how much i am worth, gain and loss and even a pie chart representation of my assets. Is there a broker that
has similar service or a software customised for naija i can buy.

Thanks
