Master364: Good point. In this same Tinubu Government, Betta Edu the former Humanitarian Minister looted N12Billion within her 6months in office. Money that was meant for poverty alleviation and this has now been swept under the carpet like nothing happened ? Its has got to be that apart from Tinubu's daily looting of the Nigerian treasury, the drug lord also gets a sizeable cut from what his appointees loot. |

Those who have been watching Tinubu keenly since 1999 will not have been disappointed so far because going by Tinubu's 25 year history of Looting Lagos state (1999 till date), we knew that Treasury Looting is the only thing Tinubu brings to the table. The scary thing is that there are die hard Tinubu loyalists in the UK as well and their blind refusal to see anything wrong in Tinubu portends noting good for Nigeria. 2 Likes 1 Share |

Fiscus105: True talk. During the brutal 2008 global financial meltdown, German billionaire Adolf Merckle was so broken by the struggle to salvage their business empire that included owning the Volkswagen car company that he killed himself after their business empire was poised to come crashing down after his family made wrong-way bets on skyrocketing Volkswagen shares. He just went to a pub, had a few drinks and then went to the train station and jumped in front of an approaching train. He felt that he had let down his family by the speculative losses he incurred betting on the share price movements of their VW stock - a company they owned. Merckle, who was the world's 94th-richest person in 2008 according to Forbes magazine, spent his life building a business conglomerate with about 100,000 employees. At the time there was mostly speculation about banks and hedge funds that could have made heavy losses on VW. But banking sources told Reuters that Merckle's losses were estimated at 400 million euros ($539 million). Forbes had in 2008 ranked Merckle Germany's fifth-richest man with a fortune worth an estimated $9.2 billion. According to Forbes, Merckle's fortune was initially inherited from his Bohemian grandfather, but he had grown the latter's chemical wholesale company into Germany's largest drugs wholesaler, Phoenix Pharmahandel, with annual sales of 21.6 billion euros. So, the rich also cry and they are not immune to the whisperings of the devil. https://www.reuters.com/article/world/german-billionaire-commits-suicide-after-vw-losses-idUSTRE5055O8/ |

jaeyking: E be like say this don dey happen for decades o because I heard a similar story in London close to 16 years ago and the Bros who narrated it to me said it was his town man also in London who carried out the heinous act on an olosho many years before he recounted the story to me so it must have happened at least 20 years ago. The story I was told was that the culprit Bros was a private car hire service driver at Muritala Muhammed Airport and he and some of his fellow drivers consulted a Babalawo for money rituls and the Baba asked them to bring a fresh human head and the men hired an olosho, and drugged her and had their way with her before cutting off her head and taking it to the Baba. The baba was shocked that they could go that far as he had thought thay they would not be able to go that far and the Baba was so scared that he stalled them and ran away. The Bros in question later made it to London and at the time I was told this story (16 years ago) he was married to an Oyinbo woman and was on his way to getting his UK passport. Makes you wonder the number of Naija deadly and hardened criminals now residing in the UK. If you are a night crawler in London, you tend to hear a lot of stories that opens your eyes and just because someone dey London no mean say dem dey decent since you don't know their past history in Naija. israelmao: Today, I spoke to someone who relocated from UK to Naija to open a restaurant a year ago and he said he decided to close the restaurant yesterday due to low patronage. He said before they used to give free soup with meals but when the cost of the soup ingredients alone was more than the cost of the meat, he resorted to charging N1000 for the soup alone and as most of his customers can not afford the N2000 for a plate of food, he had no choice but to close the business down as to do otherwise will mean running at a loss and Baba is quite prudent at cost cutting from my observations of his past businesses both in London and in Naija. Let them keep frolicking and spraying bundles of ill gotten money but surely the day of reckoning will SOON come for all corrupt Nigerian politicians, their families, their enablers, their close associates and those who should have spoken up for the down trodden poor Nigerians but failed to do so in order to curry favour from the politician treasury looters and this class of enablers include the deaf and dumb pastors and the so called kings. On the imminent day of reckoning, their ill gotten private jets that are on standby to ferry them out of Nigeria will fail them because for one, they will be denied Visa in to their choice escape country just like that former Nigerian ambassador to Austria was denied a Schengen visa a short while ago. It just can not be right that 5 pieces of tomatoes that was formerly N200 is now N2000 and 1 onion is now N300 or more and so called billionaires and Ex Presidents and so called Kings and the elite see nothing wrong in rubbing it in the face of poor Nigerians their shameless open display of ill gotten wealth. Surely there has got to be an easier faster way to extract palm oil from palm kernels If not for the perseverance of the the Wright brothers the aeroplane would not have been invented. So, there is always a better way of doing things. If we want to break open a coconut, the old school method was to smash it on a concrete floor and risk losing all the water but one day I stumbled upon a Youtube video that showed that there are natural groove lines on the coconut that if tapped hard enough will allow you to remove the hard shell just like you are peeling it off. 2 Likes 1 Share |

Tizu: Reminds me that with all of Abiola's wealth, none of his children could keep the wealth generational as these rich peoples kids have no respect for money and all they do is spend spend spend. One of Abiola's sons was on Seun Okinbaloye's podcast last week saying that whilst Abiola was still in detention, his first son Kola was having an affair with Babangida's daughter. He also said that his older brother has not managed their Dads wealth and businesses well and is forming first son in order to selfishly hold on to all their Dads wealth. He said he had to forcefully takeover the building housing concord newspapers and let it out to get some money to share to some of his siblings and had promised Kola his older brother a battle to regain some of his Dads properties Kola had secretly sold behind the backs of other family members. To tell you how arrogant some of these kids are, Abiola's son in that interview said that whilst in school, he used to tell his teachers not to bother with him because his Dad was rich and that the teachers should focus their efforts on teaching the other kids and leave him alone ?? He said his father Abiola had 40 wives and 103 children - 48 of which failed DNA testing after Abiola's death. He said something along the lines that he thought that his father was modest in the number of wives he had given the money he had and the population of Nigeria ?? When I was in medical School, I used to buy my Medical books from Abiola bookshop in Lagos but the bookshop closed many years ago and the building became derelict and moribund and probably still is and Abiola's second son almost got evicted from a commercial building some years ago because he could not keep up rent payments of his office space on Allen avenue, Ikeja. Most of the rich in Nigeria were just lucky and/or crooked and had nothing in terms of life training to give to their kids because they themselves got their wealth through dubious Government patronage or outright stealing the money meant for millions for themselves through being friends with Any Government in Power (be that good or evil Government). 2 Likes 2 Shares |

On a lighter note, the guy for talk say him be Medical Student na. Medical students in Naija take REAL skeletons piecemeal to their rooms (sometimes) off campus to study all the muscle origin and insertion points etc on them. But then again if the police ask him to name a few muscles that originate or are inserted into the skull he will fail. Reminds me of someone who used a hired passport with visa to go Yankee and the passport had the occupation of the owner as Maths lecturer and the immigration officers at the Yankee end asked him to solve a simple Maths equation and the Mechanic (his real job) failed and he was promptly sent back to Naija. His dad did not let him hear the last of it and constantly reminded him that if he had studied his books instead of pursuing rascality whilst in secondary school he would not have been deported. 1 Like 1 Share |

hardbody: Not a few people in the UK suffer from a mental health condition caused by too much darkness and too little daylight. The condition is aptly called SAD (Seasonal affective disorder) and is a type of depression that comes and goes in a seasonal pattern. One of the treatments for this condition is light therapy – where a special lamp called a light box is used to simulate exposure to sunlight. One of the symptoms of Seasonal affective disorder is decreased sex drive which might explain why a lot of wives in the UK lose interest in sex over time. SAD is sometimes known as "winter depression" because the symptoms are usually more apparent and more severe during the winter. Some people with SAD may have symptoms during the summer and feel better during the winter. Overview - Seasonal affective disorder (SAD) Seasonal affective disorder (SAD) is a type of depression that comes and goes in a seasonal pattern. SAD is sometimes known as " winter depression " because the symptoms are usually more apparent and more severe during the winter. Some people with SAD may have symptoms during the summer and feel better during the winter. Symptoms of SAD Symptoms of SAD can include: a persistent low mood a loss of pleasure or interest in normal everyday activities irritability feelings of despair, guilt and worthlessness feeling lethargic (lacking in energy) and sleepy during the day sleeping for longer than normal and finding it hard to get up in the morning craving carbohydrates and gaining weight difficulty concentrating decreased sex drive For some people, these symptoms can be severe and have a significant impact on their day-to-day activities. When to see a GP You should consider seeing the GP if you think you might have SAD and you're struggling to cope. The GP can carry out an assessment to check your mental health. They may ask you about your mood, lifestyle, eating habits and sleeping patterns, plus any seasonal changes in your thoughts and behaviour. What causes SAD? The exact cause of SAD is not fully understood, but it's often linked to reduced exposure to sunlight during the shorter autumn and winter days. The main theory is that a lack of sunlight might stop a part of the brain called the hypothalamus working properly, which may affect the: production of melatonin – melatonin is a hormone that makes you feel sleepy; in people with SAD, the body may produce it in higher than normal levels production of serotonin – serotonin is a hormone that affects your mood, appetite and sleep; a lack of sunlight may lead to lower serotonin levels, which is linked to feelings of depression body's internal clock (circadian rhythm) – your body uses sunlight to time various important functions, such as when you wake up, so lower light levels during the winter may disrupt your body clock and lead to symptoms of SAD It's also possible that some people are more vulnerable to SAD as a result of their genes, as some cases appear to run in families. Treatments for SAD A range of treatments are available for SAD. The GP will recommend the most suitable treatment programme for you. The main treatments are: lifestyle measures – including getting as much natural sunlight as possible, exercising regularly and managing your stress levels light therapy – where a special lamp called a light box is used to simulate exposure to sunlight talking therapies – such as cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT) or counselling antidepressant medicine – such as selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors (SSRIs) https://www.nhs.uk/mental-health/conditions/seasonal-affective-disorder-sad/overview/ |

nepapole: Everybody get craze for head for UK and its just a matter of the percentage of craze and that comes with forcing humans to live like robots. For example in London there is now 1 CCTV Camera for every 13 people , meaning there are now 691,000 CCTV Cameras in London and the average Londoner is caught on CCTV 300 times a day. so, in the UK your every move in public is being caught on camera. https://www.cctv.co.uk/how-many-cctv-cameras-are-there-in-london/ UK women are all neurotic and the black women in the UK have resident demons living inside them and their legion of demons gets unleashed when they are arguing / quarreling with a man. A wise woman builds her home but a foolish woman tears her home down with her very own hands. UK women with their nasty foul behaviors have spoilt the market for the tiny % of them that "might" be marriageable. 11 years ago, I was going to Heathrow airport on my way to Naija and the cab driver a Nigerian man in his 60's was narrating to me what happened to his friend some time back. His friend is also in his 60's and one day the friends wife woke her husband up in the middle of the night and told him to look at her n.akedness properly as that was going to be the last time he saw her n.aked and eventually the husband found out that she had started dating a younger man. Then, I was shocked to learn that a Naija woman at that age who is meant to correct the younger women in London is also part of the game to frustrate Naija men who are trying their best to be the head of the home in a country and culture where the man is seen by all and sundry including the laws as being at the bottom of the pecking order below children, women, cats and dogs in that order. And this is why more and more "smart" Naija men in the UK are deciding to adopt a "bearish" look on rushing into any new permanent relationships as the words "caveat emptor" doesn't even start to describe the horrors resident in falling into the trap of a "latently" angry Nigerian woman in London because with a Naija woman in London, once the initial love fades or reduces which it WILL after 1 - 2 kids, the undercurrent of PHD "Pull Him Down" at all costs directed at men by some Naija wives in London knows no bounds. 21 Likes 6 Shares |

Sonnobax15: Religious Experiences Shrink Part of the Brain A study links life-changing religious experiences, like being “born again,” with atrophy in the hippocampus The article, “Religious factors and hippocampal atrophy in late life,” by Amy Owen and colleagues at Duke University represents an important advance in our growing understanding of the relationship between the brain and religion. The study, published March 30 in PLoS One, showed greater atrophy in the hippocampus in individuals who identify with specific religious groups as well as those with no religious affiliation. It is a surprising result, given that many prior studies have shown religion to have potentially beneficial effects on brain function, anxiety, and depression. A number of studies have evaluated the acute effects of religious practices, such as meditation and prayer, on the human brain. A smaller number of studies have evaluated the longer term effects of religion on the brain. Such studies, like the present one, have focused on differences in brain volume or brain function in those people heavily engaged in meditation or spiritual practices compared to those who are not. And an even fewer number of studies have explored the longitudinal effects of doing meditation or spiritual practices by evaluating subjects at two different time points. In this study, Owen et al. used MRI to measure the volume of the hippocampus, a central structure of the limbic system that is involved in emotion as well as in memory formation. They evaluated the MRIs of 268 men and women aged 58 and over, who were originally recruited for the NeuroCognitive Outcomes of Depression in the Elderly study, but who also answered several questions regarding their religious beliefs and affiliation. The study by Owen et al. is unique in that it focuses specifically on religious individuals compared to non-religious individuals. This study also broke down these individuals into those who are born again or who have had life-changing religious experiences. Advertisement The results showed significantly greater hippocampal atrophy in individuals reporting a life-changing religious experience. In addition, they found significantly greater hippocampal atrophy among born-again Protestants, Catholics, and those with no religious affiliation, compared with Protestants not identifying as born-again. The authors offer the hypothesis that the greater hippocampal atrophy in selected religious groups might be related to stress. They argue that some individuals in the religious minority, or those who struggle with their beliefs, experience higher levels of stress. This causes a release of stress hormones that are known to depress the volume of the hippocampus over time. This might also explain the fact that both non-religious as well as some religious individuals have smaller hippocampal volumes. This is an interesting hypothesis. Many studies have shown positive effects of religion and spirituality on mental health, but there are also plenty of examples of negative impacts. There is evidence that members of religious groups who are persecuted or in the minority might have markedly greater stress and anxiety as they try to navigate their own society. Other times, a person might perceive God to be punishing them and therefore have significant stress in the face of their religious struggle. Others experience religious struggle because of conflicting ideas with their religious tradition or their family. Even very positive, life-changing experiences might be difficult to incorporate into the individual’s prevailing religious belief system and this can also lead to stress and anxiety. Perceived religious transgressions can cause emotional and psychological anguish. This “religious” and “spiritual pain” can be difficult to distinguish from pure physical pain. And all of these phenomena can have potentially negative effects on the brain. Thus, Owen and her colleagues certainly pose a plausible hypothesis. They also cite some of the limitations of their findings, such as the small sample size. More importantly, the causal relationship between brain findings and religion is difficult to clearly establish. Is it possible, for example, that those people with smaller hippocampal volumes are more likely to have specific religious attributes, drawing the causal arrow in the other direction? Further, it might be that the factors leading up to the life-changing events are important and not just the experience itself. Since brain atrophy reflects everything that happens to a person up to that point, one cannot definitively conclude that the most intense experience was in fact the thing that resulted in brain atrophy. So there are many potential factors that could lead to the reported results. (It is also somewhat problematic that stress itself did not correlate with hippocampal volumes since this was one of the potential hypotheses proposed by the authors and thus, appears to undercut the conclusions.) One might ask whether it is possible that people who are more religious suffer greater inherent stress, but that their religion actually helps to protect them somewhat. Religion is frequently cited as an important coping mechanism for dealing with stress. This new study is intriguing and important. It makes us think more about the complexity of the relationship between religion and the brain. This field of scholarship, referred to as neurotheology, can greatly advance our understanding of religion, spirituality, and the brain. Continued studies of both the acute and chronic effects of religion on the brain will be highly valuable. For now, we can be certain that religion affects the brain--we just are not certain how. https://www.scientificamerican.com/article/religious-experiences-shrink-part-of-brain/ |

prittyboi: In the UK for example, health is free from cradle to grave if you get papers or acquire citizenship later on. ALL Government schools are free and of top notch quality. Parents get some form of child benefit and working family tax credit between the ages of 0 and 18 of the child. From age 18, students get generous student loans from the student loans company owned by the Govt and they don't start paying back the loan until they start working and even at that they have to be earning above a certain amount before they can be asked for any repayment and the repayments are very affordable and if they don't get a job quick enough after graduation, as long as they regularly show the Govt the steps they are taking to find a job, their FULL rent is paid by the Govt and if they are below 25 they get £311 monthly extra allowance on top of their rent and if above 25 they get £393 monthly extra on top of the Govt paying their FULL rent. That's why it is hard to see any burglar proof (fire hazard) on any UK window because unless you are on drugs and need money to fund your drug habit you will never be desperate enough to break into someones house to steal even if you are unemployed because the Govt takes care of the basics for you. Water, light, food, house according to Fela Kuti's Song - Original Sufferhead. An unemployed person who later finds work is always too happy to contribute his taxes and National insurance contributions into the Govt coffers 'cos the Govt was there for him with a SAFETY NET that prevented him from hitting rock bottom or becoming destitute when he was unemployed and it is this system of paying your taxes and NI that funds the UK social security system. Its not rocket science but our wicked leaders in Nigeria some of whom used to live in the UK will never introduce this kind of equitable system in Nigeria because that would mean that the pool of millions of downtrodden Nigerians they can pick their servants, drivers, cooks, cleaners, gatemen from will dry up and they will become demystified because no one will then be desperate enough to bow down to these Nigerian politicians out of poverty. When some people criticize Nigerians wicked politicians, its because we KNOW that there is a better more equitable system that will work into perpetuity that our wicked leaders are not introducing. It takes just 1 kind hearted leader with compassion to introduce a comprehensive system of social security like what the British introduced in 1948 in Nigeria and the servitude of the masses will end. But will our wicked Nigerian politicians listen ? 10 Likes 4 Shares |

For example, in Western countries if your wife says for you to get up mid way during sex just when you are about to cross the finish line and you refuse to get up and insist on reaching the finish line a few seconds away, she can report you to the police for marital rape and you will get 8 years in jail. Also, if you have sex with a woman (wife or girl friend) multiple times in a night, you must receive her express consent BEFORE each insertion or else she can charge you for rape even if the first insertion was consensual and you just assumed that the second one was with her consent.
