k2joye: Hello Bluhat Tbh emailing vfs is kinda pointless because vfs is just the people that courier the applications to the embassy. What they r there for is to receive your application, do the whole biometrics thingy and send it to the embassy and the embassy sends it bk to them to deliver to you. If your application is takin too long, email the embassy not vfs, I personally don't think there is anything they can do to help. Their email address I know of is visa.lagos@fco.gov.uk and Abuja.VisaCustomerCare@fco.gov.uk.Goodluck. |

Bluhat: Oh give thanks to the lord for he is gracious and his mercies enduret forever. Thanks to justwise, vicjustice, olu123467(where is she sef, its been a while) and everyone that advice on my visa application. I received my package today and guess wah...my 5 yrs visitn visa was renewed. It was renewed since 20th of last month and I jst got it today. This is a piece of advice. I was told by one of the staffs at vfs that the applications from lekki are sent to uk for processing. Some people also confirmed this and said applications frm ikeja and abuja are processed in nigeria that's why applications from lekki takes longer. The place of issue on my visa is shefild so I guess that's uk for sure. I wish everyone awaiting a response goodluck and don't wait on any text, I haven't gotten any text yet. Just track it online. 2 Likes |

k2joye: Hello house,I applied for a UK visa for some days now but it is unfortunate I could not track with the reference number on vfs site. Each time I input my reference number it shows invalid search. I mail them and this was their reply; Are u sure you used the right ref. Number that was printed on the receipt you were given when u submitted your application? Ur ref number shld be something like this VIAB/*****/*****/1 and the date of birth section, if your month is jan, make sure u write 01 not 1. Hope this helps. |

Today makes it 17 working days and I haven't heard anything yet. I'm just tired of waiting and the main thing that bothers me is registration in my uni. If I don't get back to schl by wednesday, I won't be able to pick courses for this semester and I can't go back to uni without my passport. Will I have to forfeit a whole semester just bcs I want a uk visiting visa? I'm jst tired. |

Hi, thanks for your advice so far. My application has been with the uk embassy for 15 working days and I haven't heard anything from them yet. Is there any number I can call to find out the progress of my application or I should go to vfs global to check if my passport has been returned to them? Everytime I track it online it jst says it has been forwarded to d british high commission and the 400 naira sms is not helping. Thanks. |

Thanks for the swift reply. The sponsor was retired in the last application (5 years ago). My mum retired 8 years ago, so her circumstance wass basically the same as it is now. The main thing that bothers me is the amount he has in the account as of the time we applied. I'm looking forward to your reply. Thanks a lot Dis Guy: I thought you had your question answered already |

Hi Vicjustice, Thanks a lot for your reply. The major reason why I'm concerned about how long it will take is because ill have to go back to dubai bcs uni resumes on the 8th Of sept. I was planning on travelling on the 25th and return back to dubai on the 10th. Thanks for your time, it was appreciated. Vicjustice: |

Hi everyone, first ill like to appreciate the contributions and advice of everyone on this forum. God bless y'all. I would like to know the processing time to renew uk visiting visa from lagos. I applied on the 5th of this month. The truth of the matter is I'm kinda scared for some strange reasons. Some of the documents we submitted are: My dad's statement of account showing he gets a pension of 350k every month and the balance on that account is about 400k. The balance in his other account is 1m. We included some agreements btw him and some of his tenants as well as evaluation cert from jide taiwo stating his 3 buildings worth over 130m. I also included my statement of account that shows I have about 9k dirhams(360k naira), my transcrip, and my school I.d just to show that I live in dubai and I won't wanna stay in their country. I and my fam go to the uk twice every year since 2004 and our previous visa's was 2yrs(2 times) and 5 years that expired 2 months ago. One of the things that bothers me is that in my mum's form, we stated there that she is supported by spouse who earns pension of 350k and rents of over 4m annually. Do you think we would have any problem with the visa renewal? Any inputs would be appreciated. Thanks for d anticipated reply. |

@justwise and olu1234567, thanks a ton for your swift replies. God in his infinite mercies will bless you. Something important came to my mind yesterday and its been bothering me ever since. I remember about 3 years ago, i was refused a canadian study permit. The problem now is i didnt include that in my application( i think there was a part that asked if you have been refused visa before) and that has been bothering me. Do you think they might find out and refuse my application because of that? |

Hi, I applied for my visa renewal 3 days ago with my dad and my mum and my sister. We have been to the u.k over 10 times and our last u.k visa that expired was a 5 years tourist visa. I included my personal statement of account and my transcript from the uni which should stand as a proof that I live in dubai. Few things that are bothering me are: 1, My brother was issued a uk study permit but he left the u.k 3 years ago before the completion of his studies to start his business in cotonou. I hope they won't want to delay our application trying to find out where he is? 2, My cousin was in a uni in london till last month. Since she graduated, in d form we stated that we do not know anyone in the u.k bcs she graduated and she is in nigeria now. But in my dad's statement of account, it still shows money was withdrawn with an atm card in london last month. Won't they think my brother is still in uk? 3, My dad is a retired nnpc manager but we are not sure of the exact date we used in the previous application as d date he retired. If the date we stated then and now are different, would this affect the application? Any help would be appreciated. Kingsley. |

ibadanchap: It cost me 3500 naira when I did mine (depending on your bargaining power). when you get to Alagbon with your passport photograph and photocopy of your data page, don't talk to the touts outside bcs it will be more expensive. Just walk up to the finger print officers office. I have the card of the officer at the finger print office that did mine. Pop me an email on tosin_raphel@yahoo.co.uk if you need his cell phone number. @ everybody, If i get a letter of recommendation from my high school principal, is it going to help? Can i apply with N2m in the account bcs the school sent me a bill of just $5000 (although thats for one semester) does anybody know how to contribute to this thread from a blackberry mobile device? Thanks in advance and I wish everybody Good-luck. |

@ Delta007, Debosky and everyone Thanks a ton for the replies, they was really informative. On humber's website, it shows there is a 84 hours business placement in the final semester. Is that different from the Intership y'all are talking about? btw, I can transfer credit from humber to york uni after the first semester if you think its better. @ Busta, That's exactly what i have in mind. Thanks to everybody that replied to my post and I'm very sorry about the late reply, apparently I cant post on Nairaland with my bb so i had to wait till i get home. @ gel03:Thanks gel03. I am going to be 19 next month. @Rare, Those are very relevant and important questions. I will try my possible best to answer them well in the form and I hope my immigration lawyer who charged me $1,000 will help out as well. Thanks man. @Delta 007, trust me brova, Humber is a very reputable College in Toronto. i know you got the right to ask why I chose the college but the fact is if I stay in the college for 18 months, I can transfer to York Uni for the remaining 2years. So its still like the same thing bruv or do you still think i should get a Uni by all means? BTW, I tried to get admission into University of Manitoba for the university 1 program but my dad's friend said the crime rate there is higher than that of Toronto. I am thinking of getting a letter of recommendation from my Principal, hope that will help a little bit? |

Hi Nairalanders , I would like to ask from lovely Nairalanders if i stand a chance of getting a Canadian student visa. Below are my criterials : *I graduated from High school in July 2009 and I was the assistant head boy of my school. *I got admission in Humber College located in Toronto *I travel a lot. I have been to London for over 15 times and i have been in U.s once. *I went to a computer school from January last year to July last year and I obtained upper credit in my certificate *My dad is a retired Chief petroleum geologist with Nigerian National Petroleum Cooperation (NNPC) with a pension of N340,000 every month *My dad who would be my sponsor has about N1.5m in his account presently and he has 3 houses where he gets rent from which sums to about N4m every year. Do you people think I stand a chance to get the student visa? Thanks for your time . God bless Y'all P.S My admission is for May 2011. |
