Otuabaroku: I don't know why everybody is just advising the op to accept the sudden change of the wife attitude to very important issue simply because this is not the only reason why he married at first place.well said bro , never underestimate d power of attraction if a husband is immemsely attracted to his wife and why would she suddenly change without involving the husband she is meant to discuss with him before undergoin her sudden unattractive metamorphosis . She ought to know that such issue if not handled properly can jeopardise the d fondess of their union which is very important . 1 Like |
Health / Re: Nma Strike: The Patients's Perspective by rolex29: 6:02pm On Jul 15, 2014 |
GentleMimi: Sai! Patient's perspective indeed.very sound and objective write up .Doctors own the patient and nobody want to take your patient away from you we only want to reach the zenith of our respective fields it doesnt stop any doctor from performing his or her duties at all . A house officer pay is d same thing with a PMLS (atleast u must ve worked for 10 years to get to that salary level o! ) while interns get N112 ,546 in d eastern state where i reside so its really poor .Delivering quality healthcare to patients is a focal point in all medical professions and lets not forget anybody can be a patient nobody is excluded not even the doctors who own the patient so i dont how hindering the progress and welfare of other medical professionals will improve the quality of healthcare in this our nation. 2 Likes |

prettyprettywow: what is your position on directorship in the hospital? Is that also part of the organogram? what i was taught about organogram in school is that the patient is at the center and surrounded by healthcare professionals. I think only the medical students were taught the organogram, hence the fight. @ the bolded: what do you mean by nurses don't have their own field? what happened to the healthcare field? Nightengale worked with the doctors and not for them. If nursing doesn't have its own field like you said, i wonder why it is regarded as a unique profession, it would have been under the medical profession. The problem with the nursing profession was the greater number of women in it at the time women were not taken seriously, when they were seen and not heard and are considered to be under a man. But this is 21st century where women have been liberated, study their 24 commandments in depth.I m feelin u and i think u re well informed on these issues nobody want to answer your question on why other health professionals should not attain the level of directorship which is the zenith of their profession from the civil service point of view |

Some nairalanders keep making pointless and lame comments on medical disciplines where they are least knowledgeable ,its very mortifying guys .l m a medical laboratory scientist and i m proud of my profession. The medical laboratory science council of Nigeria (MLSCN) empowered by the 2003 ACT NO.11 enacted by the NATIONAL ASSEMBLY OF THE FEDERAL REPUBLIC OF NIGERIA Is the regulatory body guarding the practices and professionalism of medical laboratory scientists in Nigeria In a very simple but precise manner these are the core duties of a medical laboratory scientist : 1. To scientifically diagnose diseases through proper collection ,examination and rigorous analysis of clinical specimens such as whole blood ,serum, plasma, urine, stomach washings, faecal samples, sputum ,serous fluids, nail scrappings, skin snips, semen, saliva washings, skin scrappings, post surgical specimens ,swabs of all body organ and tissues, pus ,ulcer materials etc through numerous clinical procedures ,assays and tests of the different sub -departments that make up medical laboratory science namely; Hematology, chemical pathology, advanced molecular pathology, microbiology and Histopathology 2. To carry out medical and empirical researches with the sole aim of improving patient healthcare, offer scientific solutiions to mysterious clinical cases and discover new diagnostic techniques to tackle re emerging infectious diseases and other diseases .we are also involved in forensic serology (very imperative in paternity disputes and criminal investigations) ,water quality analysis ,quality control and clinical instrumentation . There are countless procedures of these sub- departments that are too cumbersome to mention here infact Medical laboratory science is a dynamic profession that is designed to provide a broad based fundamental scientific knowledge that evolve steadily in other to execute execellently its main role of disease diagnosis in patient healthcare ,patient care without diagnosis is guesswork and that one my hand no dey o ! I think i ve tried a bit to educate nairalanders here henceforth lets argue reasonably and intellectually. |

Hello fellow NLanders i m a bit angry with some posts but i feel some NLanders commentin might not be medical professionals hence will certainly not have the ideal perception and the right cache of information to understand these issues .ln an ideal environment medical workers including doctors work synergetically ,every medical discipline is imperative in providing quality healthcare in our respective hospitals and different health facilities infact no discipline is more important .Lapses in any of the discipline could lead to loss of human lives .The disparity in salary structure is terrible ( i wish i could be very explicit here) and the points given by JOHESU are all valid and devoid of bias or utterances .A well esteemed medical professional with the right calling always strive to demonstrate intellectual prowess in his or her discipline in other to serve humanity tirelessly , be humble and efficient in duty and not hugging superiority complex ,suppressive in altitude and busy politicking hence missing the core objective of being a medical professional. 2 Likes |
