OT2024: 6 LESSONS FROM THE HAPPIEST MAN ON EARTH BY EDDIE JAKU
1. There are many things more precious than money
It is easy to be enslaved by the mindset that money is the most imperative treasure in society. Money is always transient, just like most things in life. It comes and goes, but how much are you willing to pay for the fleeting pleasure? The consequences of a money-mentality are much more damaging than the value of money itself. Are you willing to put your mental, emotional, and physical well-being on the line? There are things more precious than money. Here are a few: -Experiences -Genuine connections -A feeling of purpose -Genuine concern for helping others -Eddie says, “there are many things in this world that no amount of money will buy you, and some things are priceless beyond measure.”
2. Weakness can be turned into hatred
Weak people lack the ability to maintain any level of emotional intelligence. People who lack emotional intelligence and a strong sense of self are easily influenced to hate. Their values and convictions are not based on strong foundations; rather, they are proponents of radical causes. Hatred is a disease that consumes the human mind to the point of no return, causing significant harm to oneself and others.
“If enough people had stood up then come on Kristallnacht, and said, ‘enough what are you doing? What is wrong with you?’ then the course of history would have been different. but they did not. they were scared they were weak, and their weakness allowed them to be manipulated into hatred ” — Eddie Jaku
3. Tomorrow will come if you survive. one step at a time
The majority of people give up because they feel the suffering will never end. They relinquish control because their vision is clouded by minor inconveniences rather than the bigger picture.
“The closer you get to something, the blurrier it gets,” as the saying goes. Be well-rounded, logical, and foresighted. Nothing on it has the word “forever” written on it.
4. You can find kindness everywhere, even from strangers
If you take a step out of your own world for even a moment, you will notice that you are not alone. The most serious problem is that we cannot talk freely about ourselves, our lives, and our issues. You are not alone in the universe. There are people who would happily assist you if you were willing to be vulnerable.
5. One good friend
“The greatest thing you will ever do is be loved by another person” — repeat this sentence until you realise that love and friendship are the best medicine.
I cannot emphasise this enough, especially to young people. Without friendship, a human being is lost. A friend is someone who reminds you to feel alive.
6. Education is a lifesaver
I do not mean formal education when I use the word “education”. Yes, formal education is fantastic and brings great opportunities, but life education is much more critical. Understanding the laws of human nature, being mindful of worldviews, and knowing how to connect so that your voice is heard are all examples of life education. To be self-sufficient and not depend on others for a good life.
You may not be able to change the world because it is beyond your power, but you can change yourself. Change is possible, despite what you can believe, but it requires a lot of discipline. APTLY WRITTEN 1 Like |

ZekeYeager:
In her prime, Mama was obviously one of those young, impressionable African virgin maiden. The type we used to read about in fairy tales aye atijo
The reason why I reached this conclusion is that if Mama had been in her late 20s, 30s or 40s when she met John, there wouldn't have been any potential for this kind of romantic relationship between them because she would have been a married woman. In those old days, African girls (and boys for that matter) used to marry early. Usually by the age of 19 at the most, a typical African girl in those days would already be married and expecting child number 2 or 3.
So if Mama is 103, then we can safely conjecture that she would have been around 16 or 17 when she met John which would place their romantic encounter sometime in the 1930s! This is ancient history we're talking about.
Sadly, it seems that Mama attached more significance to the relationship than John did, which would explain why he never bothered informing her before he left. Of course, if he had abandoned her with a pregnancy, that would be an entirely different story, but he seems to have respected her enough to leave her as the virgin he met, so we must concede that John had a degree of decency.
My verdict:
Mama wasted her life. She deprived herself of the chance to experience the joys of motherhood and family life, all because of wishful thinking. If you read the story in its entirety, nowhere does she say that John made a categorical vow that he would return for her. She reached that conclusion on her own.

The burial arrangements include several events leading up to the funeral.
The ceremony commenced on Tuesday, June 25, with a high-profiled novelty match, followed by "Mr Ibu's Night" on Wednesday, June 26, featuring a candlelight procession and live entertainment.
A Christian Wake-Keep took place on June 27 at Mr. Ibu's compound in Eziokwe Amuri, Nkanu West.

Igbons and so called indigenous Igbons are the CONFUSED ones.
We have lived for centuries with our brothers, the Urhobos, Isokos, Itsekiris from SAME Bini roots in peace despite several decades of Igbos subtly trying to divide us with names and language for their selfish ambition.
Even with gun in the heads of us in Delta North especially the Ndokwanis and Ikas, we will NEVER say we are Igbos ( including Iseleukwu, Onichaugbo, Onichaolona Idumujunor, Idumujugboko,Ogwashukwu( has Iyase title holders) etc.
Traditional gods aren't the same with your amadioha ie olokun, orisha, ogun etc, we don't have same orientation, money worshipping, victim mentality etc like the Igbos.
After Senator went to Ndokwanis and showed his Igbo social media followers oil in the area, Igbos started salivating for DOA, ANIOMA State while as a Politician, he was just pressing Igbos ever mumu button.
U people even fought with our Benin brothers, Ikwerre people and subtly bringing division between them and the Ijaws. One Isoko guy told me, Isokos call the Binis, Aka.... Same name( shortened) of the Ancestral leader who led them out of Bini.
See, with this nonsense of forcing Delta North people to be Biafrans, we will SCRUTINIZE any political option involving Obi since he has never told us his stand about/ against Biafra.
As for any Senator who further seeks to please Igbos instead of the ACTUAL Delta North people that voted them in, Deltans will be recalling them. c‘est fini 3 Likes |

He that comes to equity MUST come with clean hand. If Wike had come to equity with clean hand, that would have been a different ball game. Who has Wike been loyal to in his political life journey? Is it Amaechi, Jonathan, Patience, Odilis? Just name them. Did Wike hijacked Rivers State political structure from Amaechi and almost pelt Jonathan and his family with Amaechi but thankfully today, all of them have seen the true colour of the person they fought Amaechi because of him. The Odilis he always run to for judicial protection are today his arch enemies because they told him the gospel truth as elders and he started lambasting them. A man living larger than life and doesn't want to be under any control.
It's not today that people have been helping people to attain height but they don't behave the way Wike is doing. Even Patience Jonathan that gave him all the macenery to win election never exert pressure on him. Is even an act of greediness, how would a man singlehandedly bought forms for all aspirants if he doesn't have sinister motive. Where does he get such money from if not from the state treasury? We are talking money to the tune of a billion for only forms, not to add the one for campaign. His sinister motive must be crumble and not allow to fester. pertinent questions |

fergie001: Rivers State Governor, Siminalayi Joseph Fubara received the Senate Committee on Privatisation and Commercialisation led by its Chairman and former Abia State Governor, Orji Uzor Kalu.
OUK (as he is fondly called) advised the Governor to wait for judicial interpretations and abide by the dictates of the Constitution. He also urged the Rivers Governor to continue to show leadership and maintain the path of peace as he has always done, despite the tense political situation in the State.
