Politics / Re: Between Umahi And Lalong, Who Made The Right Choice? by sageb: 4:34am On Jul 18, 2024 |
Lolz419: David Umahi: Umahi is the current minister of work. He is the immediate past governor of Ebonyi state. He was elected into the senate in 2023 election, but resigned to take the appointment of minister of works.
Simon Lalong: Lalong is currently a senator. He is the immediate past governor of Plateau state. He was appointed minister of Labour, but resigned his ministerial position when the court declared him senator of his senatorial zone.
Considering the uncertainties and failure of this govt so far, who do you think made the right decision between the two of them?
lalong made the right choice An elected position is better than a ministerial position which is by appointment |

It was reversed because Tinubu knew it would have ignited tension in Ogoni land. Since HYREP was created, it has been manned by indigenous Ogonis whose environment was polluted by Shell. And the appointment would have stalled the bid of the Federal Government to resume oil exploration in Ogoni land.
Tinubu wanted to extend his Nepotism to HYREP. Tinubu record in Nepotism has surpassed that of his predecessor. the sad truth stadium road was blocked by security officers 1 Like |

marketingoracle: Hey guys, So there's a big opportunity for people thinking about properly learning digital marketing to grow their businesses or for career purpose, and it's one of the biggest Digital Marketing Agencies in Nigeria. The sweet part? you get a professional certificate that is recognised internationally.
I have personally gone through this training. I did mine in February and It was a great one. I had previous started doing social media marketing years ago but the training opened my eyes and I got the opportunity to learn from experts. I still got over 12 certificates from Twitter, Google and other top international digital marketing training centres.
If you are interested indicate in with a comment.
P.S This isn't an ad or something of those nature. I saw their re-opening and I decided to put it out there.
After the training I kinda switch niche from social media marketing to SEO, and I've been doing well and getting lots of gig too. I highly recommend this program if you want to take digital marketing seriously post the name of the facilitator and location of training |
Politics / Re: States Records Of Election Into Local Govt Council Since 1999 by sageb: 4:48pm On Jul 12, 2024 |
OredoPikin: As part of the transition programme from military regime to elected civilian government, local government elections were conducted in 1999 across the country for a three-year term. At the expiration of the tenure of Local Governments in 2002, it was expected that election would be conducted immediately, more so as the country was in a democratic dispensation. Unfortunately, it was not so. While the consistent attempts by state governments to weaken local governments in the country is not yet new, the complacency of the federal government and the possible complicity in the delay of Local Government election is disturbing. The state government all over the country are not interested in conducting election in the Local Councils across the country because the non-conduct of election gave them the absolute control over Local Government machinery in their respective states. It is sad that the state government have failed to appreciate the fact that Local Government is fundamentally an integral part of democracy. They have undermined Section 7(1) of 1999 constitution which guarantees democratically elected Local Government council across the country, only few states had witness election since 1999 till date. The diagram below shows states where election has been conducted from 1999 to 2019

EngrKemp: Massive price slash and governor fubara of Rivers state has re launched the Rivers State Transport company RTC .
Note that RTC was closed down through out Wike's tenure because rumour had it that Wike took over the company for himself . Everybody working there before wike sacked them have been asked to return to work and more people are being employed. Remember Rivers State government has free bus services like BRT . It's totally free.
Fubara pays the highest minimum wage in the whole federation.
Fubara has a free medical service team and free ambulance that are well equipped for emergency medical response .
Massive ring road construction is going on in Rivers state and fubara is heavily developing and upgrading many towns in different LGAs in Rivers state making rural development a Hallmark because a rural developed country is a developed country . Farmers are getting massive attention and investment to secure food production.
In sports, the Fmr super eagles coach finidi George has been appointed as the head coach of Rivers United.
Fubara is not known for noise making , his achievements so far has been nothing but very massive and we pray he continues in this line till the end
I WILL VISIT THE RENOVATED PARK SOON SIM FUBARA IS WORKING 1 Like 1 Share |

OT2024: 6 LESSONS FROM THE HAPPIEST MAN ON EARTH BY EDDIE JAKU
1. There are many things more precious than money
It is easy to be enslaved by the mindset that money is the most imperative treasure in society. Money is always transient, just like most things in life. It comes and goes, but how much are you willing to pay for the fleeting pleasure? The consequences of a money-mentality are much more damaging than the value of money itself. Are you willing to put your mental, emotional, and physical well-being on the line? There are things more precious than money. Here are a few: -Experiences -Genuine connections -A feeling of purpose -Genuine concern for helping others -Eddie says, “there are many things in this world that no amount of money will buy you, and some things are priceless beyond measure.”
2. Weakness can be turned into hatred
Weak people lack the ability to maintain any level of emotional intelligence. People who lack emotional intelligence and a strong sense of self are easily influenced to hate. Their values and convictions are not based on strong foundations; rather, they are proponents of radical causes. Hatred is a disease that consumes the human mind to the point of no return, causing significant harm to oneself and others.
“If enough people had stood up then come on Kristallnacht, and said, ‘enough what are you doing? What is wrong with you?’ then the course of history would have been different. but they did not. they were scared they were weak, and their weakness allowed them to be manipulated into hatred ” — Eddie Jaku
3. Tomorrow will come if you survive. one step at a time
The majority of people give up because they feel the suffering will never end. They relinquish control because their vision is clouded by minor inconveniences rather than the bigger picture.
“The closer you get to something, the blurrier it gets,” as the saying goes. Be well-rounded, logical, and foresighted. Nothing on it has the word “forever” written on it.
4. You can find kindness everywhere, even from strangers
If you take a step out of your own world for even a moment, you will notice that you are not alone. The most serious problem is that we cannot talk freely about ourselves, our lives, and our issues. You are not alone in the universe. There are people who would happily assist you if you were willing to be vulnerable.
5. One good friend
“The greatest thing you will ever do is be loved by another person” — repeat this sentence until you realise that love and friendship are the best medicine.
I cannot emphasise this enough, especially to young people. Without friendship, a human being is lost. A friend is someone who reminds you to feel alive.
6. Education is a lifesaver
I do not mean formal education when I use the word “education”. Yes, formal education is fantastic and brings great opportunities, but life education is much more critical. Understanding the laws of human nature, being mindful of worldviews, and knowing how to connect so that your voice is heard are all examples of life education. To be self-sufficient and not depend on others for a good life.
You may not be able to change the world because it is beyond your power, but you can change yourself. Change is possible, despite what you can believe, but it requires a lot of discipline. APTLY WRITTEN 1 Like |

Romance / Re: Meet The 103-Year-Old Tanzanian Who Is Waiting For Her White Boyfriend by sageb: 11:45am On Jul 02, 2024 |
ZekeYeager:
In her prime, Mama was obviously one of those young, impressionable African virgin maiden. The type we used to read about in fairy tales aye atijo
The reason why I reached this conclusion is that if Mama had been in her late 20s, 30s or 40s when she met John, there wouldn't have been any potential for this kind of romantic relationship between them because she would have been a married woman. In those old days, African girls (and boys for that matter) used to marry early. Usually by the age of 19 at the most, a typical African girl in those days would already be married and expecting child number 2 or 3.
So if Mama is 103, then we can safely conjecture that she would have been around 16 or 17 when she met John which would place their romantic encounter sometime in the 1930s! This is ancient history we're talking about.
Sadly, it seems that Mama attached more significance to the relationship than John did, which would explain why he never bothered informing her before he left. Of course, if he had abandoned her with a pregnancy, that would be an entirely different story, but he seems to have respected her enough to leave her as the virgin he met, so we must concede that John had a degree of decency.
My verdict:
Mama wasted her life. She deprived herself of the chance to experience the joys of motherhood and family life, all because of wishful thinking. If you read the story in its entirety, nowhere does she say that John made a categorical vow that he would return for her. She reached that conclusion on her own.
