Phones / Re: 9mobile Is Up For Sale - Who Do You Think Would Buy It? by Softhands(m): 9:24am On Nov 25, 2017
kingsamm:
9mobile is currently up for sale after the initial saga that led them into changing names from Etisalat to 9mobile. The scramble to acquire 9mobile, Nigeria’s fourth largest network operator, has advanced to the next stage.

10 bidders are left out of the 16 who expressed interest in the purchase. And the highest bidder will acquire 9mobile.

Here is a List of The 10 bidders of 9mobile

1. Globacom Nigeria Limited, Nigeria’s second largest network operator
2. Airtel Nigeria
3. Dangote Group’s telecoms business unit
4. Alheri Engineering Limited
5. Smile Telecoms Holdings
6. Centricus Capital and Africell
7. Abraaj Capital (Based in Dubai)
8. Teleology Holdings Limited
9. The Carlyle Group
10. Africa Capital Alliance (ACA)

The 10 firms above have been pre-qualified to submit their financial bids for the acquisition of 9mobile, this will be the final process through which a winner with the highest bid submitted for 9mobile, will emerge.

9mobile, formerly Etisalat Nigeria, was put on the block early this year after it defaulted on a $1.2 billion loan from a consortium of 13 Nigerian banks. Etisalat Group the mother company in Abu Dhabi backed out leaving its Nigeria arm of business to its own fate, to survive on a new name.

The question is, who do you think should acquire 9mobile among the 10 bidders?

On point
GidiPrince:

I've had this case before, it's tough but here is what I did and got excellent result though it was for grower pullets.

Isolate affected birds, give both groups Tylodox + Polidine for 5days.(if you've used tylodox, tylosin or enro, dont repeat)

and spray the birds with polidine- this is to reduce the spread of the coryza.

For the pox-like thing around the eyes, get procaine penicillin and water for injection, inject 0.5 ml per bird. And you'll see how it'll dry up ASAP.

P.S my case was as worse that both eyes of some birds were covered. But it all wiped out and no mortality. The birds are still doing good till date.

And please, improve your ventilation and sanitation so as to aid convalescing and to avoid reoccurrence. The root of this disease is respiratory.

Best of luck.

Crime / Re: Man Shot Dead In Port-Harcourt After Withdrawing Money From ATM by Softhands(m): 9:23pm On Nov 01, 2017
Jesus!!! I must be dreaming... I once lived in same Hostel(Uniben, Ekosodin) with this guy back in school, his room was Just opposite the Popular Igos (OAP, Wazobia Fm).... This Guy was super dedicated man, studied Civil Engineering... very brilliant and exceptional, I think he was even their class rep sef... Mhen this world is a wicked world ooo.... I don't even know what people are doing in that rivers of blood sef... useless state!!! RIP Scanner... embarassed embarassed embarassed embarassed embarassed
zoba88:
This story will put you in tears!

Mr Christopher Ojika aka 'Scanner' was shot in the chest and stomach on Saturday 28th October 2017 at about 4pm. Sadly he is now addressed as late and in past tense.

He was shot as he returned from an ATM where he went to withdraw money to fix his vehicle which was being attended to at a nearby mechanic workshop.

This happened in Port Harcourt Metropolis, Port Harcourt is too rough you might say but it might interest you to know that it was not the gunman's bullet that killed the fine young gentleman who was so full of promise. It was the rot in our Healthcare Delivery System, the Health Worker's poor attitude to work, total disregard to the Hippocratic/Florence Nightingale's oaths and our total disregard for human life......

Judge for your self;

The young man having been shot fell on the floor and was calling for help, everyone took off in a million directions and fortunately a brave Good Samaritan decided to assist the young man who identified himself and asked to be rushed to First Rivers Hospital where he received treatment under his company cover.

Upon arriving the hospital he was not attended to, he even identified some nursing staff at the facility who had attended to him in he last and beckoned on them to help him, his appeal fell on deaf ears as a ?doctor came out and asked that he be referred.

Those attempting to help the young man decided to rush him down to the Military Hospital Port Harcourt believing that will be the 'best' place for gunshot wounds to be attended to. Alas they were wrong as first aid was administered and he was referred to The Teaching Hospital..

At this point I can only say that Mr Christopher was confirmed dead at about 3am, he had remained conscious while waiting to be taken to the theatre and died 11 hours after being shot without being operated on.

Money was not a problem as everything requested for was provided.

Christopher was snatched from his young beautiful wife who is carrying the child they've both been longing for.

Idiot, that has always been his belief, does the guy think those guys give a bleep about his style of agitation in dis 21st century, especially in a situation where he's agitating for a landlocked country which is of no real tangible value to those countries to in fact deserved any form of sentimeted supportership in his agitation. The guy is in for a long thing. Idiot with idiotic followers. If they truly wanna leave, he doesn't need to wait for referendum from anybody, what he was suppose to av done at the peak of his popularity was to av organized a civilized referendum process and folks like us would av supported him 100%. Me I don't mind igbos leaving Nigeria, afterall Igbos are only majorly in the 5 Southeastern states and a minority in in delta, a small fraction in kogi and possibly Rivers. No oil for them, no sea for them, losers.

Igbos are 75% thieves, armed robbers, 419ers among many other in the country, so their leaving gatz no problem for anybody. I've never met a Yoruba man owing properties or businesses in the east neither an Hausa man, who is to lose.

What happened to Skype ehen??...If u want a meet-up, Pay the bills, else Let's Skype.
ekeroyal:
Ladies and gentlemen, the points I'd be listing below won't be exhaustive. If you've had you experience, don't hesitate to share.

I understand Nigerians are ingenious and capable of taking on very advanced software development jobs. I do as well. However, I have observed with keen interest that some of us are constantly taking advantage of our ability to trust ourselves based on word of mouth. I can authoritatively tell you to stay away any developer who fails the criteria listed below. It's just an advice by the way.

1. Make sure you have the developer's full name.
2. Ask for previous jobs, preferably those related to the task you want them to help you with.
3. Ask for their professional/personal social media handles/links.(linkedin, twitter, facebook, instagram)
4. Ask for their website, check their portfolio section.
5. Ask for a meet-up, if they refuse run for your life.
6. Let them tell you the value of what they are offering. Don't tell them your budget.
7. Try verifying their phone number(s) using truecaller, responsible ones have a traceable name on truecaller.
8. Make sure you pay into a bank account that corresponds to the name you find consistent with your findings.
9. Check how long they have been on Nairaland and checkout their posts/comments. Trusted ones have spent at least a year and have been active, in a positive way.

These rules apply to those who use fiverr, upwork, etc.

Feel free to add yours or share your experience.
