Politics / Re: Sabotage, Vandalism Preventing Complete Rehabilitation Of Port Harcourt Refinery by TK9680: 5:48pm On Jul 17 |
I appreciate the reply. It is obvious you are close to this system. Whatever the issue is, it is a failure of leadership. If the change has to get to the top, so be it. It is not the duty of a frustrated recipient of failed promises to figure out how to restructure NNPC and the other Energy MDAs. This is the job of the people that demanded and received our votes. So carry out the enlightenment somewhere else. Let the refinery work!!!!! Your comment is as laughable as it is poorly thought out. Blaming idle soldiers and police for the actions of vandals and saboteurs shows a fundamental misunderstanding of how security and governance work. Let's break down your flawed reasoning and point out the real issues. Firstly, expecting soldiers and police to shoot vandals on sight reveals a dangerous and inhumane mindset. Do you really think summary executions are the solution? What you’re suggesting is anarchy, not law and order. Enforcing laws requires more than just brute force; it requires intelligence, strategy, and respect for human rights. Secondly, firing Mele Kyari for issues that are systemic and deeply rooted in corruption, inadequate infrastructure, and poor governance is a simplistic and naive solution. Leadership changes are necessary, but they need to be part of a broader strategy that addresses the root causes of these problems. Your suggestion that soldiers and police should act as executioners is not only illegal but also counterproductive. It would lead to more chaos, human rights violations, and international condemnation. The real solution involves comprehensive reforms in security, better coordination between agencies, and robust community engagement to tackle the root causes of vandalism and sabotage. Blaming one person or suggesting extrajudicial killings doesn't address the complexity of the situation. It's time to move beyond simplistic and violent solutions and start thinking about sustainable, lawful, and humane ways to protect national assets and ensure security. If you truly want to see change, advocate for systemic reforms, accountability at all levels of government, and better training and resources for security personnel. Your current approach is not only misguided but dangerous, and it's certainly not the way to build a stable and prosperous nation.[/quote] |
Politics / Re: Mesfin Tasew: Ethiopian Airlines CEO Named By EFCC In Nigeria Air N2.6 Bn Probe by TK9680: 9:57am On Jul 10 |
Read very well. This was never an indictment on Ethiopian Air. Rather on how it was handled by Nigeria. My PERSONAL view is that the present administration should have looked at the deal critically and corrected it hat the former minister had probably done wrong. That idea was one of the best ways to solve aviation issues in Nigeria. They would have brought in aircraft to fly local routes and also international ones like the London, Toronto and US routes This company had Nigerian investors on board owning 51 percent of the company. It was scuttled because the local airlines were scared of the competition! The model already works for ASKY in Togo. As usual we just threw the baby out with the bath water. |

Politics / Re: Omokri Tackles Peter Obi Over His Criticism Of ‘New’ Presidential Jet For Tinubu by TK9680: 8:58am On Jun 18 |
The current air force 1 is 32 years old. The current jet was bought by Obasanjo fairly new. It is a 737. Take it back to Boeing or Ethiopian or South Africa and you will have a jet you can use for.the next 10 years without any issues. The 2nd one is a assault 7x. This is a fairly modern aircraft. With top class maintainable, you can use these jets for thee next 10 years. Arnold's Scwarzeneggers pj is 40 years. And isI extremely good shape. This is just another waste of funds. 1 Like 1 Share |

Politics / Re: Smuggled Nigerian Petrol Floods West African Markets, Sells At ₦1,700/litre by TK9680: 1:46pm On Jun 11 |
Dannyset: Let us reason together, no need for any abuse. 1. When subsidy was removed, smuggling decreased because it was simply not profitable . 2. After a few days naira was floated What simply happened was that as our naira was continually devalued, it became profitable to resume fuel smuggling. Our petrol price remained stagnant even though the naira had been devalued. So we are back to square 1 3.The implication is that fuel prices have to be raised to combat smuggling. Which the government cannot do easily. |

Translation: We need to increase petrol prices to at least 1200 naira to enable Dangote and other refineries sell without subsidy. Even though we had removed subsidy, we devalued the naira so the subsidy regime has returned. Please change your vehicles to CNG if you cannot afford petrol. We don tell you |

slimfit1: Kindly do your research. The law enabling the right for states to generate electricity was just signed a year ago. If not fpr that law, I dare say all states would have been generating electricity. Lagos actually tried to do it under Tinubu. They had to sell the electricity to the grid. 10 Likes |

Career / Re: Dana Air Sacks Employees Without Paying Salary Backlogs by TK9680: 10:41pm On May 20 |
I told a friend that it is ironic that Dana is still using the MD80s which were even old as at 2010! That aircraft is at least 30+ years old. Whilst this is not an issue for aircraft, maintenance must be thorough. If it is true they have no spares or Sirika refused to ground them, who knows what else the regulatory authorities are covering up for airlines. This is why the best of them Air Peace already has safety issues in the UK. We are too lax! |
