I applied for my visa in early december 2010, I got refused, ask me why? (For nothing)
I was awarded all my points on the refusal notice, (i.e CAS - 30 and maintenance - 10), what really got me freaked out was the ECO comments stating that: I did not submit an a Level results from epsom college, ?? I have never been to epsom college, what was stated on my CAS was what I submitted alongside my application,
If then I was refused because of that, why was I awarded my 30 points?

I have actually applied for administrative review. But when are they going to reply my people?

My school begins orientation 21st of Jan and induction is 27 of Jan,
Am planning of submitting a new application with the administrative review going on, Since is N55,000 that they want again, I will give it to them.
I need to get my life back. I can't think straight (I want to go to school and learn, so I can come back and better my economy)

The problem with your case is time, u don't have the time to chase the review so making a fresh application is the only alternative, u can write to withdraw the review while u submit fresh application AND call the attention of the ECO to his awful mistake, use the space provided for extra commitment to explain why u making new application, which is the fact that your course is starting soon and u can't wait for the review.

@ luv4all2nv, my friend also applied the same period and ws refused fr having insufficient funds when all her accounts was in tact. the 'ECO' refused her application because her school ws supposedly located within inner London when it ws actuali outer London. her school resumes Jan 31st so she ws advised to reapply,also strongly stating the error as justwise suggested in the addtional info column of tha application form. She just got clearance entry on friday. so since time is nt on ur side, its best you reapply as soon as you can. u can state the reason as ECO error in ur next application. Goodluck!!!

@dammiac, i submitted my original uni transcript, original WAEC statement of result, photocopy of WAEC cert, a court-sworn affidavit for the WAEC cert(original copy got missing),a cover letter stating y i dint include the original WAEC cert,WAEC confirmation of results, CAS,NYSC  cert, offer letter fr employmnt and pay pkg, personal bank statement and oanda currency conversion printout. (My file ws full ). only copy of passprt data page is needed.

my best friend ws however not successful. reason ws that her maintenance fees wsnt sufficient. she gained admissions to holborn college and ws told the school ws outside london so she hd only 5400GBP in her a/c. the reason for the refusal ws dat the school is inner london, so she needed to have 7200GBP. pls can you help us confirm hw true this is? thnx. she wants to reapply.

(misplaced my certificate) bt i got a confirmation of rsult frm WAEC. i also attached a copy of the certificate, affidavit and a cover letter explaining why i didnt i include the original certificate. dont no if its ok as i m yet to hear frm them. i submitted my app on the 9th.

I remember when this page was thread was merely a few pages, now it looks like a book!

Firstly, I must apologise profusely for my absence on Nairaland, I have been battling my own Master's degree and got married whilst helping some students here in the UK who have finished their Bachelor's degrees into jobs. I am glad that so many of you have still kept up this thread and in the spirit of brother(sister)hood have done so with out personal gain.

I applaud you all.

I must give my own warnings as a concerned sister at the difficulty in finding careers here in the UK for some students. The average graduate should expect it to take up to six months to find a career (a role that actually fits their skills and experience), however exceptional students should find their careers in less time than this.

The economic downturn has not been favourable to a lot of Nigerian students here and the governments increasing bias/hesitance towards immigrants seems to have compounded this. Unfortunately, my colleagues on the other side of the pond (USA), seem to iterate the same thoughts. I will be holding application workshops and SHL tutorials from the 15th of December for those who are already in the UK. Unfortunately, I know a lot of the graduate schemes are closing around this time and some have closed already but hopefully those that come will recognise there is always a way and use this to their advantage.

The classes will be free of charge.

I have also made a number of industry contacts to take on people for work experience to boost their chances of getting a job and I hope to make more connections based on the preferences of the participants.

I am not really focussing so much on getting Nigerian students to come to the UK any more (my website is down) as there is a real need, I believe, to make sure for those who intend to stay that they have something worth coming to first.

the BHC usually request that the documents not be laminated but i wasnt penalized on those grounds wen i submitted my initial application. a couple of my friends who were successful had theirs laminated also.
as long as they can verify your credentials from your university here you should be alright

I believe the BHC make provisions for attested copies of documents. if you can get a validated photocopy of your WAEC certificate, coupled with your WAEC statement you should be fine

@ xorcyst, some one told me dat i can apply for a confirmation of result @ WAEC but the problem is dat WAEC will have to send it to BHC and i how long the process will take plus i dont want a case where they will say they didnt get any docs frm WAEC. pls i need the best way that will work for me cos i cant afford to lose the visa over some carelessness. plssss!!!

Am sorry but that is not acceptable at all by the BHC. You are only allowed to show your original certificates *(transcript).
