The protests have fizzled out, and everywhere is quiet and calm.

This is very different from Kenya and End Sars….

God bless Nigeria.

Meanwhile, focus more on your state governors.

They are chopping your money more than FG.

Absolutely.

They've got increased allocation but nothing to show for it.

NiRfreak:
Government have gone on overdrive using propagada, lies and scare tactics to cancel, douse the moral, and intimidate Nigerians against their lawful right to protest. It's even worse on Nairaland as pro-govt paid-agents infiltrated any thread to amplify such thread and peddle various trope against protest, often times ridiculing us and the suffering of Nigerians. It's a shame and I believe it should fuel our anger to protest the more.
The mildest of govt tactics is to hypnotise and reinforce into the psyche of Nigerians that protest equals violence and death just to discourage us . Bu Historically Govt is usually the cause of all violent protests in Nigeria.
.
The truth of the matter is, protest by its nature can not always be curtailed or predicted. What determines if a protest will be peaceful is the anger or the gravity of issues that fueled the protest in the first place especially if government is willfully oppressing and causing suffering. Also, Fuelling most violent protest is govts callousness to shoot at protesters. If police shoots at protesters, then there's no more rule of engagement or civility. That becomes a free for all as primal emotion against injustice will take over

Violent protest is bottled up anger against insensitivity or callousness of govt as well as perceived injustice, oppression and resistance of govt.....in such scenario, u cant tell a protester how he expresses that anger.
.
If protest has to be violent especially by destroying govt property, so be it, if it will get the needed attention. It took govt institutions to be burnt down in Kenya before their govt took them serious.
So Nigerians shouldn't play into govt book that protest should be cordoned off in a venue , that it shouldn't involve blocking of roads, or vandalizing govt property. This is the rule of protest everywhere in the world when people protest against suffering and oppression. Otherwise govt will never take us serious.
.
The efficacy of protest is unfortunately directly dependent on how much it cripples the economy and how much collateral damage a govt fears it will lose on its institutions and property..... otherwise...na rally una dey do o.....

This is just a long-winded way of supporting rioting and anarchy. The so-called government institutions you're advocating to be burned down are not the government's; they belong to the people.

An own goal is an own.

We often hear about 200 to 300 bandits coming out brazenly to kidnap people....but our gallant troops pick off the random lone bandit or two, and release press releases celebrating their success at curtailing banditry. At this rate they'll definitely eradicate them by 2070.

Politics / Re: Economy Faces Threats With 1.4 Million Barrels-Per-Day Crude Output by Neoteny(m): 10:16am On Jul 22
Massive oil container ships enter Nigeria, berth at port at deep water, siphon fuel over days, and leisurely sail away without anyone supposedly knowing.

We've radar, sonar, cameras, drones, helicopters, FLIR, jets, Navy, Army, Air force, Nimasa, 3PP firms, civil defense, special forces, coast guard, DSS, NIA, DIA, NSA, EFCC, ICPC, community watches...but no one sees these hulking big ships coming in and out to steal oil in millions of barrels.

And in the rare occasion someone does capture one, someone "at the top" makes a call and the cargo is released to go on its merry way with the loot.

And no one...no one...is held accountable.

This country is not a joke: it's a tragedy on a monumental scale.

No sir. You're wrong.
It's not a cupful. It's 24,000 bags of 25kg each of rice per state.

It's actually substantial and commendable, on the part of the leadership of the APC .
It shows great , intelligent and excellent foresight.

Assuming an average of 5m people per state, that's 0.0048 bags per person.

Almost everyone is in dire need going with the statistics of the poverty index.

Are you being sarcastic?

You welcome brother...

This people are trouble everywhere...

They hate anything Jesus ...

Wrong.

Unlike you, Muslims don't believe God allowed Jesus to be crucified like a common thief....in the bible Jesus WAS crucified among thieves

Muslims don't mention the name of jesus without adding a phrase of respect

Mary, the mother of Jesus, has a whole chapter in the Qur'an dedicated to her and her virtues

Muslims believe jesus is the Messiah and will return on the last day

Muslims are never allowed to insult Jesus. The bible is a holy book in islam too.

In islam, Jesus is a reversed messenger of God who was born through immaculate conception and performed miracles.

If you don't know any of these facts, it won't be surprising: Nigerian Christians are some of the dumbest and most blissfuly ignorant people ever, so cocooned in what their pastors tell them they never see beyond last Sunday's sermon.
