eniboi: CONGRATULATION pls can you explain more on the GENERAL SKILLED PROGRAM and shed more light on it cos i was apply for and i didnt wana make any mistake. Hello Enoboi, Every information you need regarding general skilled program can be found on the Australia immigration website, but more specifically, you can check http://www.immi.gov.au/skills/skillselect/ You need to do a lot of research and check your possibility of meeting the criteria before you make a final decision to apply. Note: if you can't provide substantial proof regarding any aspect of the requirements like work experience, age, qualifications etc, it won't be wise to lodge an application because they actually send out their representatives to verify most of them. I hope this helps. |

Ropodinho10: @ aunty jenny, thanks for the advice, but he told me that he went for refuge, and i really know him he can't lie for me, we have being together for many years. He also told me that he spent close to four hours at the airport in australia before he was allow in. So pls my aunty jenny just give me little info about the conference visa. I really appreciate the way you have being helping people, you reward is in heaven. You will always go from prosperities to prosperities. Thanks alot. Pls if this is your intention, then stay away from Australia before you further spoil the image of Nigerians going there legitimately. |

jennykadry: Please people, if you are planning on just studying here and going back home, choose whatever course you like BUT if you are looking at getting your PR, you need to choose a good course. The fact that a profession is on the skilled list does not mean it is in serious demand. If you are coming in as a PR fine but as a student, look for the hottest amongst them. Also, I understand the city is beautiful, Melbourne is beautiful, so is sydney and Perth...but please look at country towns. It might be boring alright but living in a country town gives you good extra points and a better chance at PR. For example those going in for 18 months course and expecting sponsorship in the city nurses are in abundance there and your chances are slim, the same cannot be said of a country town. They need nurses, one nurse recently got free accomodation to work in a country town and got her PR. All she has to do is endure for 2 years, save heaps of money as she is not paying for accomodation or bills and move to Perth after 2 years. She visits Perth alot anyways on her days off. That's just nursing, same goes for hot professions as well. Your advice is always invaluable!! |

fendorf: is it possible to get a PR with the subclass I stated earlier.the reason for going for that subclass is because its cheaper than the 189 subclass.thanks for your reply It is not a PR visa, but is a provisional skilled migration visa that can provide a pathway to permanent residence. |

fendorf: Hello @ jenny et all pls can I get a PR with Skilled - Nominated or Sponsored (Provisional) (subclass 489) .please I need urgent clarificatin.God bless Hello Fendorf, To be able to apply for this visa subclass, you need to meet the points test requirement (At least 50 points + 10 points from nomination by a state or territory or sponsored by an eligible relative living in a designated area in Australia). see link below for you to check if you meet the points criteria. http://www.immi.gov.au/skills/skillselect/index/visas/subclass-489/ If you can get 60 points on your own, then you can go for subclass 189. If you can get 55 points on your own, then you can go for subclass 190 (state sponsorship will give you additional 5 points to get to 60 points). |

UBKtech: Yes, you are very correct. Most hospitals would rather do 457 sponsorship so you can only work for them. |
![]() |
UBKtech: You can find more info from the DoctorConnect website which explains these matters. http://www.doctorconnect.gov.au/internet/otd/publishing.nsf/Content/immigrationAndVisas Also, I believe you can undertake the registration exams if you are in Australia (on other visa subclasses) after which you can seek for a hospital to sponsor you for PR. |

ferdimako: i'm not sure i understand what NOC means! ![]() IELTS came easy for me (did it only once)..I aimed for 8 in each band, but just missed out by 0.5, but 7 was enough for me to get the required points. i bought the IELTS practice material but never had a need for it as i practically did all my studies on Youtube. i used YTD video downloader to download a lot of the videos and watched them over and over. i also did a lot of free online tests and checked tips from some of the experts to identify my mistakes and correct them. What i believe is that if you want something really bad, you will go all out for it and you will get it!!! I've seen your posts and I believe you will definitely succeed!!! |

jennykadry: @lawland I have followed this thread for a while and have noticed how JennyK seems to rise above everyone else in terms of contributions and maturity. She uses facts to buttress her points while helping others selflessly. she is like an iron lady with a soft heart!! You've been a real blessing to me. I am in the process of finalizing my PR - Subclass 189 (just waiting for the grant) and i must say that reading through her earliest posts helped me to believe that the whole process was worthwhile. i will share more of my experiences in later posts. |
