i took the proof  of tuition payment to CDHC 9am this morning. i filled an enquiry form and was told to go in. after droping d docs with the receptionist i was told to sit down and wait. about 30-40min later d lady that called came out and asked me to take my leave that my visa will be sent to me through curier since i included a prepaid envelope. so am on a hyper tracking mode for dhl.

@guddy lover
cdhc asked me to pay 1 yr tuition. school is U of S. actually wat we r paying for is called international student deposite not tuition. so tell your sch u want to pay dat as instructed by d embassy

@bash, I will be going for medical on monday,my school won't let me ppay now as that the policy concerning intl students.what they keep. Saying is they have to see proof from the embassy that I was asked to pay.so I guess after my medicals I will have to wait and hope for the best.my school is university of lethbrridge.can I asked when exactly did the embassy asked u to pay for your tuition.is it after u got. Ur medical instruction? Or when.thanks.

@ all

av been thru hell and back over the past few hours. this morning a lady with a funny acsent called me asking me about the tuition i was asked to pay. she said the amount i paid wasnt enough ($3000 for 1 term)
she asked me too pay for one full yr which was abt $8200.
i had to run arround to make the payment using my mastercard. you cant imagine that when i requested for the proof of payment from the school they told me they dont use master card for deposit anymore and that they will refund all my money including the one i paid 3 weeks ago.

glory be to God, after series of calls and emails she sent the confirmation. so am going to CDHC to show the docs coz the lady said that was all thats holding my visa. wink

@chi, please were you asked to pay some money for your tuition in the first place?, i tried paying mine but the school wont let me until i have my visa, whats the name of the school you applied to?

@ALL
I did my medicals on thursday and it went thus:
1. 15mins conversation with the doctor about my medical history
2. Blood,urine and eye test.
3. Blood pressure was measured and i was told to remove my cloth and trouser,remaining boxers for the doctor to feel my body if there is any pain at all.
4. Then i was given another form to go to one hospital in oshodi for digital xray.dats all
I paid additional 3k making 30k altogether.i met a guy and a lady for same purpose but dey said na maple den use.dey said they have spent much money ooo but i told them dat i package it myself with God on my side.d doctor told me dat as far as student is concern now,dey will not waste time again in giving d report.i pray that i will never have any crisis,complication or mixed up in my report for Jesus has given me power and authority over sickness and unclean spirit,scorpions and serpent and my adversaries (medical practioner,consular and VO) and nothing shall by any means hurt me.i decree that we re going to have more medicals invitee's soonest and at the end of everything our study permit visa will be granted in the mighty name of JESUS CHRIST of NAZARETH. AMEN

@longe, i submitted my application back in May through Maple and am still waiting for medical instructions, i want to know if you paid any tuition fee or accommodation before getting the medical instruction or after going for the medical?

@slamdunk99, well, for a starter, I do not live in BC and I never attended BC so, that could be a good reason for not mentioning it here on the forum. I live here in Nova Scotia which is on the East Coast of Canada and BC is on the West Coast (a time difference of 4 hours for a starter, and also about 7 hours of flying between the two provinces). So, as you can see Canada is such a humongous country! Nevertheless, Unversity of BC is still an awesome university, considered to be one of the top universities here in Canada.

Now about providing the proof of your ties to Nigeria, first of all, the main reason for this is to ensure that you are going to RETURN to Nigeria after your studies. So if you're unable to convince the immigration officer that you will be returning to Nigeria, it doesn't matter if you have been given an admission, they can still very much deny your visa application. So, in this situation, if you are married, and may be married with children, that could be a valid reason for you to return to Nigeria upon the completion of your program. If you are employed and coming to study in Canada on a leave of absence and if your employer are in support of the program you're intending to study, it is also a proof that you have strong ties to Nigeria and you will be returning to your job once you've completed your studies. So, I'm sure you get the picture. Anything that will solidify the fact that you're not planning to stay in Canada will suffice.

@ay,concerning the ties to my country,i am just 20years going to uni.of leth,undergraduate studies,how can i proof ties to my country,my dad is my sponsor,can i just tender his landed properties and identification of my siblings?will the be convincing?

@guddylover,

Sorry for the belated response. Been running around in preparation. I think Charlie has addressed your questions.
Go with Maple if you have the money to spare, but the main thing is your documentation, packaging then prayers.
You shall have success. God bless

Yea all document you submitted must be original, but  some of  your sponsor's documents can just be certified true copy.

With Maple you  are 90% sure of getting your VISA. They are very good with what they do. And for your information of you are planning to use themm they are  no longer at the Sura shopping complex they have pack to somewhere in Lekki, but get to their office at Sura shopping complex from there you can then get direction to their nnew office.
I wish you well in all your planning.

@Choose4me

Yea, you can apply for a pre degree programme. There is one I personally know about that it is called University 1 at the University of Manitoba, Winnipeg. You can check this web site for more info www.umanitoba.ca.

Also try to Google for more schools in Canada that does  Pre- foundation degree programmes, check this website www.aucc.ca  for the list of colleges and Universities in Canada.

Well, if I may ask  do you just graduated from a secondary school here in Nigeria or you are in a University already? Please answer so I can know how best I can be of help to you.

But in all just be happy, cos it is very possible to go to Canada  for a Pre- foundation programmes

@ Biometrix

Good to hear your story, but please don't let anybody's  behavior , black or White, to bring your moral down, just enjoy your time in Canada. We  all here are coming  very soon.
