Not to cause any argument, below was the statement i made regarding my application for TRV online. @ ChriGo. I did ,mention that i was asked for a new start date. "jadapinket13: Hello everyone, am new here on nairaland, i want to share my experience just to encourage my fellow Nigerians. Got my first admission for fall from Mcgill University for fall semester 2013 for my MSc-4th June 2013 Applied for CAQ- 9th june 2013 ( because my school is in Quebec) Got my CAQ - 26 June 2013 Submitted paper application through VFS- 4th July 2013 Last date to resume for fall semester-17th Sep 2013 Went to Cdhc to update them on the 3rd Sep and the asked me to bring a new start date Contacted school for new start date 3d Sep and my program is only for fall so can't differ for winter till fall 2014 Withdrew Application from Cdhc 5th Sep( due to delay in processing my application) Applied again online 6th September 2013 Applied for winter admission in same school but a different department that has winter intake on 7th Sep 2013 Got a notification on my CIC online for my medicals on the 25th on Sep 2013( less than 3 weeks of submitting my application) Got notification to submit an extended date to resume or new start date for winter 25th Sep 2013 Done my Medicals on 26th Sep 2013 Now waiting for the new offer later, hope to be ready soon.... @ Silicon, don't be discouraged. I was an online applicant and i was asked for a new start date. I applied for the fall semester 2013 paper route on the 4th July 2013, but i wasn't able to make it for that semester, and i was told my one of the VO's at cdhc that applying through paper route for fall semester in july was already late. So i withdrew my application on the 5th of September even though school had resumed on the 3rd of September and had a deadline of the 17th September. I went ahead to apply online on the 6th of September 2013 with same offer letter for the fall semester 2013. I knew they were going to ask me for a new start date if they were to call me for medicals, so i started working on it immediately. I was actually called for medicals after the deadline of the resumption date of the 17th September 2013, and the medical instruction came with another letter asking me to produce a new start date. In your case, they didn't ask you for a new start date with the medical instruction because you are still withing the resumption time range. So what i will advise you is to start working on a new start date ASAP, either by asking you school if the could give you another date after the deadline or if they have a summer session for your intended program of study. You need to focus and don't let anything distract you. The God that made it possible for you to be called for medicals at this time knows what his plans are for you. So be prayerful and put all your faith and trust in him, and he will never disappoint you. Whatever will be will be. So just BELIEVE ...... I wish you good luck. Congratulations to all the TRV holders and congrats to those that have been called for medicals. And good luck to those that are yet to be called for medicals. The lord is your strength. Finally, Good luck in your studies and in all your heart desires to those that are already in Canada. ChriGo: ......My brother so sorry for the Late response.....your case dey kinda complicated ooo....cuz you were called for medics at this rushing time....hmmm!!....Medicals takes 1week Min and 4weeks Max so i just dont know how you're gonna beat that.....If your course get May session please differ to be on a safer side....you applied online and i haven't seen wia any Online router is told to bring a New start date....well!! you can be the 1st on this forum sha......buh pls differ ASAP so you would be ready when they ask you to Upload a new start date...... |

Nimakor:There is nothing about forbid here. Its just the rule. Am not here to argue. The passport is submitted personally when you are instructed to do so, and that's when the trv is ready. |

nemi212: please someone should help me ere, its very urgent, im applying online for study permit, i dont see anyway of uploading more documents to show my sponsors assets, payment slip and more. Please is there anyway i can upload more cos it keeps telling me it will replace the previous upload. thanksIn the option that says proof of finance, that's where you need to put all those documents. Which includes SA etc. All need to be in one file. You can't send the documents through email. Once you apply only, you have to upload documents to them online. 3 Likes |

fadedayo: Hello folks. I was just filling out the online questionnaire on the cic website. There is a question I feel might be a trick-question and need you guys to help determine the "politically correct response".You can answer yes and provide evidence to back it up, they won't think otherwise. I had same experience and now am given a study and work permit. Good luck. |

ChriGo: ....Champion2013 i beileve u got no problem at the point of entry....the question u should ask is can u renew ur Passport in canada?...i believe yes you can in Ottawa but bros the wahala for that ottawa too much!! So i go advice make u book a round trip if you can so that during summer break you go cum renew ur passport for naija....you can then transfer the TRV into the new passport...i dont know how long this will take but passport renewal takes 1week max....this is just my own opinion....let the bosses in canada give you better advice on how to go about renewing ur passport in canada....@ champion2013, this is a very good advice. So think about it properly. Good luck. |

angelllla: @jadapinkett, please how did you include your travel history? was it copies of visas in your passport or just a written statement?The scanned copies of all the visas in my passports were uploaded under the copy of passport. My travel history included some of my journey abroad and my student visas abroad. |

greatheights: @glan congrats. U didn't submit any SOP, what did u put in the explanation letter.....@ greatheigts. I didn't submit SOP too. Although my brother was my sponsor,but I also included my bank statement as well. I didn't bother including assets or landed property,even though we have a lot. But I guess my travel history, my result and my brother 's occupation /salary,maybe the university and the course am going for did the job. To be honest everyone 's case is treated differently. It's hard to use other people's experience to know the outcome of other's. N:B I didn't even include my result in the online application, but I guess they saw it at cdhc, since I already applied paper route before withdrawing. So they already had it in my file. I submitted only what I was asked to upload online. |

Submitted winter new start date at cdhc on the 11th October. They collected my passport same day. Went to collect my trv today. I don port o. God is great. 3 Likes |

I have been reading all your comments that sounds like a debate. I have been thinking of ignoring the whole thing by not commenting. But at the end of the day, I just couldn't hold it any longer. My advice for you guys is to please drop this topic as it's really becoming unhealthy for this forum, all this argument is not necessary and sometimes it can lead to something ugly. ancient1: I was asked to provide receipts of payment of board for one year and school fees receipts for the first year ( i already included my first year school fees receipts in my application) by the 25th of Oct latest, meanwhile my extended resumption is till Nov 1. I have to find accommodation in Charlottetown, prince Edward island and pay for one year this coming week to be able to meet up..i haven't actually heard anyone mention prince Edward island from pt 1 of this thread so i am assuming it is a very dead province....still anybody that can help out with accommodation @ pei....abeg.Try discussing the accommodation issues with your school. They should be able to help you. Good luck. |

greatheights:Yes, I was told to upload my medical and confirmation of a new start date. I asked the doctor at the clinic and he told me it has already been sent to CIC because it's e-medical. But to upload the new start date is even the problem. If the page still remain as it is, I will take it to Cdhc. Sm sure they will find a way to sort it out. |

.....i adviced my guy to differ to may cuz you sef think am with ur brain Logically.....Jan 6th is tomorrow and medics is not a matter of hrs....its weeks so he isnt likely to make Jan start date....just telling my guy to be prepared incase dem ask for new start date...i know quite well he can be able to upload the docx afterwards.....common bro use ur calculation skills here....
